Annie--you can check your scale by putting something on it that you know the exact weight of like a 5lb bag of sugar or a 10 lb bag of potatoes or a 20 lb bag of dog food. You get the idea.

And dogs being vacuum cleaners. You should see my lab. He with eat ANYTHING. Even things that weren't meant to be eaten like sticks. He especially loves to help with the dishes though. He sticks his whole head in the dishwasher and licks the dirty plates off. I have to be careful. If I leave plates with food on them in the sink, he will jump up and get in the sink and help himself. He's a piece of work!

Dee--thanks for the suggestions for eating out next week. I like spinach salad. I don't know if I would want to eat in 6 days in a row but maybe a few days. Talk to you guys later. I have to get ready for work.

Howdy Everyone!!!

I went to the pool last night. Mallissa is still practicing in the deep end so I try to stay a float. LOL I think I do get more exercise then if I was in the water class chasing her around. I did do 2 laps across the pool by myself and a million with her.

I had a rough day with food. I was so focused on it. Had to stop myself. I stayed within points so I am happy.

Clipclop: I made a mexican dish that was great. It was all low fat or no fat....with low fat cheese, no fat beans, low fat toritas, and lots of salsa. It was good. I have to mix it up or I get into a rut too. If I have one more ham sandwich..>LOL Snacks are important..I think I live for them. LOL I did buy some rice cakes earlier this week and I love them. You can have 7 and it is only 1 point.

Annie: I don't think the going to the potty stops. LOL What comes in must go out. I use that time to exercise across the office, normally I am running to the potty....LOL I have stopped drinking water after 8pm..or I will get up 3 or 4 times a night. I try to get my water in during the morning. So glad you had a better day..it does get easier. I stopped weighing myself at the office. The scale is not right... it is off and it will bounce everywhere if I stand on it for more than a second.

Mary, SO happy you were the big loser this week. I told DH I needed new tennis shoes. Most of mine came with me from Florida and I have lived in Wyoming for 8 years. He told me to buy "good ones" so I think Mallissa and I will go to the mall tonight. :-) I want new shoes just for my workouts adn some good socks.

Deerod: Congrats on the 12lbs..YIPEEEE for you. Cheat day is hard..Actually the weekends are hard for me. I did cheat Sunday and had stuff I wouldn't normally had but my portions were a 1/4 of my normal size..so I count that as a win for me. I stayed within my points. My problem is since I weigh in on Saturdays I think I can cheat on Saturday and Sunday and be ok. I have to change this thinking... but last time I did WW when I was in Florida...my friend and I would go out to dinner afterwards..we would do Mexican and have a few margaritas too. I still managed to lose... Although the point system helps..I think it has more to do with portion control. WW lets you have anything as long as you count and as long as you stay with 1 serving. That is a plus for the program.

Jennie: Mondays are hard for me to exercise. I wished I woudl of gotten up early but got up late :-( Good for you!!! YIPPEEEEE you figured out a solution!!

Petra: Watch out for those hidden calories in salads.. Last night I had a huge bowl of salad but when you add the dressing (yes I have to have it..it was Light Done Right), cheese(lowfat) a few crackers and some turkey..it adds up. I still had 3 points to spare but I felt I did good with dinner. You will do fine traveling. You get more exercise when you are on vacation!!! And remember to RELAX while you are doing it.

looking2lose: Kudos to you for not indulging in the extras. It is ok to have one thing..so you made good choices. Luckily now I am the only one in my office most of the day and the only one that brings any food. I want to know which of my guys keeps stealing my bananas!!

Everyone have a great day!!

:D Good Morning PICs!!! I needed some motivation, so I added up the total amount of weight our devoted PIC gals have lost total so far.. As of today, it is 430.1 pounds GONE FOREVER!!! :) :)

WHOOO HOOO!!! CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE. Everyone is doing so fantastic, and I am really proud to be part of this wonderful support network.

Well, I'm off to chug some water, and type some stuff (I guess I get paid for that...seems these days I am getting paid NOT to eat junk food in the cubefarm) ;) Life is rough when you work with string beans who graze all day. :moo:

Have a wonderful day my beatiful queens.

Mornin' Chick PIC Chicks

I decided to stay up and get some house work done last night even though I was tired from working a double AND sunburned  I had to get the garbage out, regardless, before I went to bed. So the other stuff basically had to be done too (litter boxes, turtle tanks, garbage from each room). I started a couple loads of laundry and gathered up more. I only missed two days, where did all this come from? No sense whining about it. :D

There certainly are some big losers on here. Everyone is doing great. But for now, I'm going to get back to work (house work) now, but I plan on commenting to some individuals (as many as I can get to) from work, where I'm plagued by "down time". Thankful every day that I found a thread to call home. Thank each and every one of you. :)

AnnieRN 05-18-2005 02:49 PM

Hello my fellow goal-setters! Just wanted to drop by and say "Hi!" (sorta not busy here at work at the moment.)

Been a good day so far. There's a cake sitting not 12 feet from me, and so far I've been a good girl. :)

Also wanted to say thanks to those of you who answered my previous questions about the water and going pee-pee alot and my scale issue.

I think I'll just use my scale and adjust it so that it's correct. I know that it's 17 lbs off and just go from there.

Hope everyone is having a great day.

I may not be able to do any weight lifting tonight. I think I may have pulled a muscle in my chest. I'll just do the Walk Away The Pounds tonight and hopefully that will be enough.

Louie 05-18-2005 03:43 PM

Hello my friends ! I just stopped to have some lunch so thought I would catch up with you all. Another busy day on the thread.. you girls are exhausting  This has turned into a wonderful group and I do find myself thinking.. I better not do/eat that or I will have to confess to the PIC :nono: It is a great support system.. THANKS TO ALL OF YOU !!!

So far my day is going pretty status quo.. although I have felt hungry for the better part of the morning. I am not sure what it is, but whenever I eat a late dinner the night before I am usually hungrier the next morning ?!?! Very weird.. but I have lots of good snacks with me at work, so have been munching on them for the morning.

HOTCUPOJAVA ~ YAHOO... way to go.. you big loser !!! :cp: and I am glad that you rewarded yourself. Your feet will love you for it :)

ANNIE ~ sounds like you are doing well on your program.. keep with it! ARGG office treats... I use to love them.. now I hate them.. be strong girl !!

PETRA ~ sounds like you have a busy week ahead. Sounds like you have planned well for your trip and I am sure that you will be a success !!

DEEROD ~ good choice on the diva of the day.. you definately deserve it. :queen:

LISA ~ Sorry to hear that you had a rough day :( But you worked through it and came out on points YEAH :cp: thanks for the advice on the snack etc.. I definately need to fill up my lunch bag a bit more.

LOOKING2LOSE ~ wow those are impressive stats.. thanks for calculating them. I received an email this morning titled "Top 10 drawbacks to working in a cubicle" and thought of you immediately. No mention of string beans in the list though  Have a good day !

Well I am off to feed. Have a good day and TTYS :)

Being held hostage by the man! Or as most call it, I'm at work. Wow, it's not even six o'clock? Can that be right? Oh man, that blows. Oh well, at least the money is good, I'm wearing jeans and my new tennis shoes and I like my coworker. That's a pretty good job if you can get it (as my late Mama used to say).

Despite doing laundry and cleaning house until 0200 hours this morning (I don't get home from work until midnight), I woke up early and started right off doing it again. I got a lot done too. Several loads of laundry: washed, dried AND put away! Good Turtle! AND I did more than half of my Step Reebok step work out tape. Food was good and water is improving.

(Skysthelimit) Welcome to you. I'm new to this thread too. I love it here!

(ClipClop) Sorry you're having hunger problems. I've been struggling with the dilemma that the more I work out, the hungrier I get. I don't know if that's a good thing or not. I don't know if that means I'm supposed to eat more or not. I hope we both get a handle on that.

(AnnieRN) I hope you were able to resist the temptation of the evil cake.

(Looking2lose) Happy water chugging. I raise my cheap bottle of Deja Blue to you! I feel guilty for getting to be on line at work so much. But my job is based on what calls come in. So down time is down time. I guess I like it either way. The busier I get the faster the shift goes and if it's real slow, well, I can do about anything I want. I'm pretty lucky, eh? ;)

(Lisa WY) I'm following WW points too. I get 28 a day. I don't mess with the Flex thing, but if I happen to go over, I find myself using them. LOL. I get so focused on food too. Especially when flipping through the women's magazines I buy (seeing all the food in them). Sometimes even logging my food for the day or flipping through my points book to figure up points get to me. I just get so freakin' focused on food and wanting to eat it! I find that if I turn to music, usually, I can get my mind off it. Sometimes, I even dance like no one is watching (and hopefully they aren't). I hope you find an out (an escape) of that food focus. It's something that trips me up a lot. I really need to work on it.

(Deerod) I loved the visual I got of the two handed Chihuahua vacs. You could probably rig a handle to a harness. I can see them, feet barely touching the ground, tongues going a mile a minute, cleaning up crumbs.

(Jennie934) I hope you found time to get your pedicure. I used to do nails (once upon a time) I never cared much for doing pedicures. I've never had one myself. I bet it's great!

(MoonRay) Good luck on your weigh in and thanks for all that cheering. That no doubt, used up a lot of calories!

(~~Sunshine~~) Awesome on all that exercise! And you're going to do more. You rock kid!

Okay, now I guess I'll start reading and commenting in journals. Work work work. LOL. ;)

Hi Ladies,
How is everyone doing. Well some how yesterday I caught a nasty cold. I dont' know how I did it. I have been so healthy lately but it happened. I had such a hectic day today so I couldn't call off sick. If I am still feeling bad tomorrow, I might call of sick and get a day to rest.
I feel so drained, I can't even think about excersise. Thats OK right, I should wait until I feel up to it to excersise. I did make sure I stayed with in my points and got a lot of servings of fruit and veggies to get me some vitamins.
Ok, I'm off to take a shower to relax my weary muscles and open up my sinuses....then to bed.
Talk to you all when I feel better.

AnnieRN 05-18-2005 07:33 PM

Hi everyone! So far a great day, but I don't think I will be able to exercise. My chest is killing me. Must have pulled a muscle. I will wait until tomorrow when I can hopefully move without wincing in pain! LOL

ClipClop- I was able to resists the temptation of the cake, but damn it looked good. I did it, though! What sort of snacks do you bring to work?

Welcome Skysthelimit (Sherry)! I'm new here as well, and I can attest to the wonderful gals and the endless support and laughs they provide! :)

Hello Hotcupojava! Nice to meet you!

Jennie- Yeah, don't exercise when you're sick. Especially if you have an infection (sinus?) Your body needs rest to allow it to heal. Drink a lot of water and if you're symptoms aren't gone within 7 days, call your doctor. (I'm a nurse that works with an ENT specialist.) :) Hope you feel better.

So far up to 1253 calories. God, sometimes I hate counting calories. It can be so time consuming. And Fitday's calorie counts aren't always correct so I have to adjust. Blah!

Well, off to try and break the endless cycle of laundry.

momX3 05-18-2005 08:23 PM

I know you ladies are all going to think I'm bipolar or something with the way my mood has been this week :dizzy: but last night my sil called to tell me she has breast cancer :(. My grandfather just had surgery for colon cancer (which is what I lost my mil to) and now this. It is just pissing me off . They are saying she is going to be fine but what they **** do they know anyway.

I just wanted to let you guys know I am reading all the posts, thinking about you all and rooting for you everyday but if my message are a little short right now it's just because I am a blubbering idiot right now  . I am sorry I'm not talking to each of you :sorry: I love doing that. But I am here for you all and will continue on my journey to lose this weight. I promise.

I have to go now because the baby is beating up the washer but I will talk to you all later.

Sorry so depressing :sorry:

petra65 05-18-2005 09:01 PM

Good evening everyone.

MomX3-sorry to hear about your sil. I will keep her in my prayers. They have come a long way in the treatment of breast cancer in the past 10 year or so, so there is a lot to be optimistic about. I see patients at our cancer center on Fridays and attend our breast tumor board so I'm actually pretty up to date on that stuff.

Java--I wish I had a job like yours, LOL.

Jennie--get better. Take care of yourself. The exercise can wait.

Looking2Lose--thanks for the total. That is impressive! That should keep us all motivated for awhile.

Annie--I use FitDay too and have noticed they sometimes make strange assumptions. In particular they seem to assume that I use really fatty cuts of meat or something like that. I also have to put a lot of stuff in as custom foods but once you learn all the little quirks I like it for the most part.

Skysthe Limit--welcome. I think you will like it here.

Lisa--I guess you didn't realize this but I don't have to count calories like you guys do. I certainly can't eat 5000 a day or anything but they don't have the same importance on low carb that they do on low fat. I can eat my salad with real ranch dressing. In fact, that would be preferred because it has fewer carbs. What might surprise you, is that I probably don't eat that many more calories than you guys do. FitDay says I average about 1700 which would probably be about 35 WW points if I remember correctly.

TTYS. I will turn into a pumpkin soon.

MoonRay 05-18-2005 09:05 PM

momx3- I hope everything turns out ok with your SIL, hang in there.

MoonRay
