Hey everyone, thought I should tell ya how I'm starting. As of yesturday I and my hubby went grocery shopping we did good I think. Even though I have a problem with green veggies I bought a package of salad and some stuff to go on it. I'm hoping I will actually be able to get it down. If not I bought some veggie capules on the side that I found at GNC. I bought carrots too that I'm thinking of cutting up and storing them in my fridge in a container of water so I'll have that as a snack. I also bought apples for something sweet along with some 100% fruit bars that I checked the package on along with a bunch of them to decide which one was better. We bought chicken too because I figure it's better to eat that then hamburger . All and all I'm getting ready to really start back up and lose weight. I'm starting a little at the time right now but come June 1st (which is my real starting date) I'm going to be on a mission that I hope to keep until I reach my big goal (Or become pregnant which ever comes first  ).

Goood Morning everyone! Just thought I'd quick stop by and check up on you gals. Sounds as though everyone is doing great. Keep up the good work! :)
I didn't "exercise" yesterday, but I must have gotten in at least 2 miles of walking. My hubby and I had a lot of errands to run, and one of those was to go to the Farmer's Market. We bought lots of great veggies. Because we were so busy, we ate at Taco Bell (not the greatest) but I had a chicken chalupa and a nacho supreme. That's all I had besides a frozen fruit bar and a turkey sandwich on whole wheat. I'm guessing my calories didn't go that much overboard. I'll do much better today. Plan on doing WATP after logging off here. I did buy a new scale. A Tanita digital. I weighed in this morning and WOW! It said only 210.4! And I checked it twice! Same number both times. My doctors scale was waaay off, probably because I was wearing boots, 3 layers of clothes and a coat when she weighed me! I have changed my ticker below, as I will be using my new scale to measure my success. Thanks again for the great support everyone! Chat at ya'll soon! :) And Belated Happy Birthday to Deerod! :hb: Hello Curlylocks! Great user name! :) |
Howdy All,
What a great day! My little ballerina has her recital this afternoon. The weekends are killing me. Stepson and family came by yesterday afternoon so we had an unplanned BBQ. I did make cole slaw. OMG I love it during the summer. LOL Atleast no potato salad this time. LOL I stayed within my portions. IT was nice having them over. The baby is getting so big!! I want some of the energy the 2 y.o has. WOW, she gives you a run for your money! First of all, Welcome Lisa!! Glad you joined us. WOW, you have done well already. Keep up the good work!! We post to one, to all, or in between. Jump right in. This is a great place to be! Mary: I don't sing either. LOL VEry inspiring post for eveyrone!! I know I write too much. LOL But it is like our "lifestyle change" The more we do it, the better we do, I think. ClipClop: Enjoy your holiday. Ours is next week. WE do the dead flower thing(not to offend anyone but this is what I call it. Mmmmm...Dave's family is really into it, we have to go to the graves every year and put flowers there, my family you bury and never return..guess it is in how you are brought up) THen we have another BBQ afterwards, this time at my sis in laws. I will stay in control. LOL Catch up on what you need to.I am planning on cleaning my house Saturday and Sunday...it needs it!! Mallissa has NOTHING next weekend but a bday party for a friend. Sky: it starts as baby steps. Before you know it, you will know how to shop at the store and all of this will just fit into your everyday life. I am trying to get hubby on board. IT is hard..he is a meat and tatos kind of guy. He support me for what I am doing but to do it himself..mmmmmm...he says he is too old to go to the gym. Trying to get him to do water exercise with me but since he gets up too early in the morning for work..he won't. Oh Well, like Mallissa tells him, you miss all the fun. We are here for your mission..You will reach your goal!! Yesterday at WW, I told the girl weighing me in, this is the easy part...the real challenge is when I am staying the same and need that motivation. That usually starts around week 10. LOL Deerod: Happy Birthday!! Hope your day is great! I will be 39 in 2 months. I asked my mom last night..how do you feel abotu your baby girl at 39..She says, I can remember the years you all are born (there is 6 of us) but I can't ever remember your ages. LOL She says I can't remember mine. I told her she could be 49 always. LOL Annie: It is ok to skip one day of exercise. Running errands count as long as you park the furthest away. Yesterday in WW they were talking about exercise points. Washing the car is like 3-4 points while running a 10 minute mile is only 1. So I figure...washing the car is worth more...and I have a minivan so that has to be worth even more..and if you count me cleaning out the inside..it has to be worth even more....because a 5 year old can be a piggy in the car. LOL So any movement is good movement in my book!! PEtra: Great thinking on the packing. Trust me, with the airline rules..I really have to think about packing now. I always end up buying another suitcase when I come back as my new carry on. LOL Sometimes I had to ship things back. Have a great vacation!! Mox3: the inches will even out. Do you feel better? If so you are doing great!!! Don't be a slave to the scale or measuring tape!! Jeannie: take it easy and when you are feeling better..then get back on track. Hope everyone has a great rest of the weekend!! Lisa Wyoming |
Happy Peaceful, sunny so far, Sunday morning
First off, welcome Curlylocks. I think I've seen you somewhere before. A thread, that is. Don't panic. Welcome! I'm new here myself, but find it a wonderful, motivating and inspirational thread. I lurked for weeks trying to find a thread to call home. This one is great.
I'm normally off on Sundays, but this one I'm working. Of course instead of paying me over time, they simply changed my days off to Monday & Tuesday. Oh well, it's not like I have an important life with important things that need done. Seriously. I'll have a shorter work week next week. I'm sore from working out yesterday. My own design on my plastic step. Set thirty minutes on my timer and worked it out like a good turtle should. Then I did over two minutes on my speed bag. Ow. This morning my thighs (the front of them) are really sore and hurting. But there's something satisfying (if not a bit painful) about the feeling of sore muscles. Especially when they're sore for the right reasons. Happy Be-lated b-day Deerod. And a big hello to everyone else. Kclay and looking2lose, hope to hear from you two soon. Gotta move my shell and clean up this cave before exercise, shower and leaving for work. Peace and Turtle hugs to everyone. |
Good Morning.....
Hi everyone.
Welcome to Curlylocks. What kind of dog do you have? I can't imagine a pull-fest for a walk!! but hey?...it would be an extreme workout. Clipclop.....Happy Victoria Day weekend!! I am a Canadian living in the states, and had to think just what holiday it was you were celebrating!! LOL....even though I just got my new issue of Canadian Living magazine, hope you survive and cookout temptation. We are in the midst of planning for a camping trip next weekend. Any ideas how to make some of the food choices more ww friendly? There is no way I can take all seperate foods,.....AND......I haven't been camping for over 20 years!! OMG, I hope I survive the dirt, grime and bugs!!!! |
Good Morning/Afternoon my Partners !
It must be the weekend, I can actually keep up with the posts. The week days go crazy here ! Last night while grocery shopping I picked up a WW cookbook (it was with all the magazines). Some of you may be interested in it.. it is called "5 ingredient, 15 minute cookbook".. it has some great recipes and provides all the points etc. I don't know about you, but I really need to change things up in the meal department so thought this might help. It was $13.99 Cdn, I think the US price is around $10.99, so pretty reasonable. Hubby and I watched The Incredibles last night, it was pretty good. I love all of the movies by Pixar and can't wait to see Madagascar. Today is another quiet day at home. I have some studying to do, so will get to that shortly.. after some breaky and coffee ! ANGEL EYES ~ Sorry no advice from me on camping. I am not camping savvy, but hope you have a great time ! What part of Canada did you live in? I am on Vancouver Island. HOTCUPOJAVA ~ hard at work on a Sunday.. glad that you have 2 days off soon... you will be able to work those thighs again.. LOL Have a great day ! LISA ~ sounds like another busy weekend for you, as always.. you are certainly on the go alot. You will enjoy your long weekend.. although I am sure it won't slow you down.. think of all those activity points :) ANNIE ~ don't sweat not formally exercising.. sounds like you did plenty of moving about. Glad that you found a good scale. I bought one a few weeks ago and am very happy with it. Mine weighs down to the 0.1 so I am going to celebrate even the smallest of successes. CURLYLOCKS ~ Welcome to the gang ! Looks like you have had a great start on your weight loss journey, keep up the good work ! Well I better get my butt off this chair and make myself some breaky and a coffee. Have a great day and I will talk to you all soon. |
Good Morning Ladies - Actually Dee's B-Day is tomorrow so nobody missed it.
Curlylocks - Welcome to the board!! You are the third Lisa now :). When I was a kid (a long long long time ago) I used to hate having the same name as so many people. I remember in my home ec. class there were 5 of us. Angel - You will have fun camping. I don't do ww so I can't help with that but I'm sure someone will have an answer for you. Hotcup - good job on the step ;) . I used to do that years ago I remember how hard it can be. I love that word coolawesomeness :D. Thanks!! Lisa - Yes I feel lots better. I'm know the inches will come it was just kind of weird. Even the lady that measured me said they don't usually see results like that. I'm not giving up I still lost 11 lbs and I'm happy with that. I think I may try the curves low carb diet and see what I think because the low calorie thing is kind of getting to me. I'm hungry all the time :dizzy: . Great job on losing 3.2 lbs :cp: :cb:. I'm proud of you. Annie - I went and got a Tanita scale this weekend also and I think it weighs me less that curves :D. I am still going to go by my curves weight I just wanted to have a good scale at home for the times when I just can't wait :goodscale . Clipclop - I hope you are getting caught up on your school work and getting some much needed rest as well . I bought the incredibles for the baby but she still likes Finding Nemo the best. Sky - good job on the shopping. You will be on your way in no time. I hope everyone in having a great weekend. |
Hi everyone,
a quick check in, I don't have a lot of time so I'll catch up with everyone tomorrow(at work, I always seem to have more time there!!). Well I am feeling much much better, thanks everyone for wishing my get well. I was able to get a work out in today. I still took it easy, I did the tread mill, walking fast and only jogging for about 4 minute spirts, I stil managed 4.25 miles and 650 caloried burned! so now I am back on track. WEll I thought for sure I wasn't going to lose but, I went to WI today and I'm down 1.6! yeah, I really was doubting anything since I have basically be standing still all week, so that is so great. I just wanted to share the WI news. I'll catch up tomorrow. Jennie |
try just getting rid of the bad carbs, use wheat pasta & the wraps for ur sandwiches and also cut out anything with fructose and corn syrup and refined sugars

Back again.....
ClipClop....I grew up in the Ottawa area and only moved to the States 3 years ago when dh got transfered. I was out your way by Tofino and the Pacific Rim National Park. Gosh, I just loved it there. I didn't know we (Canada) actually had a rainforest!!! NOt to mention all the great seafood right at your fingertips!! One of the questions I was most asked....."Do you celebrate Christmas in Canada?" and "Does it ever get hot there?" I consider myself a self appointed ombuddsman for Canadian Tourism. I also got...."My uncle goes fishing up there near a big lake, do you know him?" CRAZY!!! Jennie, way to go on the weight loss!! You make me envious.....I used to do a 3-4 mile treadmill trek for 600 calories burned. But its been awhile....Just might have to go tommorow and get back at it. Thanks for the spur to walk!! As for my camping, I made some delicious 1 pt banana muffins and will bring corn on the cob, tomatoes and whole wheat hamburger buns. Just started thinking about it, so I'll have to have alot more to think about but its a beginning. The last thing I want to do is to go all hog wild and gain a tonne of weight over the weekend before WI. |
Just wanted to give you the GREAT news :D my scale is acurate!!! I lost 6lbs!!
:D Sorry this is short I just wanted to share my great news :D MoonRay |
