MomXs3 I wish you peace and I hope you feel better. Best of health to your SIL. Don't worry about your moods here. That's what is so great about posting to great people you know you can trust. They don't judge.

Howdy Everyone!

Did get my walk into today and did 20 minutes on the stair stepper (that kicks your butt!). I had a good day today and keep my eating under control although we had fish filets for dinner with tator tots. LOL But my portions were under control!! I did have popcorn twice. I drank all my water plus!! Yipeee for me!! Stayed right at points..that is why the popcorn.

Sherry: Welcome, I am glad you have joined us on our journey!

Momx3: Dealing with cancer in the family is hard. My sister was dx with anal cancer two years ago. She also had kidney cancer and they took her kidney last year. She at one time weighed 400lbs and had WLS about 7 years ago. (she hounds the heck out of me wanting to do it..not me.. I have no desire..I can do it this way) Now she has the other problem, she only weighs 80lbs and can't put on weight. She went through chemo and it was rough. Breast cancer caught in time can be treated. Hugs and Prayers to you.

Petra: I am not sure how many calories WW has. I get 28 points a day. I am not sure I could do the Atkins. I am not that found of meat and I love bread and pasta. Are you counting down to your vacation..How many more days. LOL Can I come too?? We are going to South Dakota later this summer.

Annie: it is best to take it easy if you injured yourself exercising. Try the pool, very low impact on your body. I am getting used the hunger pangs afterwards. Counting calories is like counting points. It makes you focus more on what you are eating in someways that is good..but all the focus on food makes me hungry. LOL

Jennie: Drink your chicken soup!! Hope you feel better soon!! Hugs!!

Sunshine: All that energy girl. LOL Glad you got your exercise in and some for the rest of us. LOL

Mary: I have a job like that too.. I am an office manager. I work hard part of the week and during my down time I am on the internet. LOL Great job perks!!!! Actually my last 3 jobs have been like that.....mmmm.. I hope I never get laid off again. LOL I was a horrible stay at home mom!! Glad you got your house cleanned. Want to come do mine???

Clipclop: The hunger strikes me at about 10:00 every morning. Even when I have a snack..it just makes me focus more on lunch. LOL I noticed if I have a lot to do in the morning..my morning goes faster..like today I did payroll.. so it wasn't so bad. I have now decided if I have to go potty...I skip to the potty as long as no one is in the office. LOL I also will get up and do leg lunges or something when I get too bored. It is keeping me more on focused.

Looking2Lose: Great deal on the numbers...WOW we are a bunch of losers!! Thanks for doing that and we should keep it up!! How was life in the cubefarm today?

Deerod: the dog thing was so funny and as someone else said the visual was too much!! I want a dog but my cats won't let me get one. My cats are probably bigger than your dogs. I wonder if they do WW for kitties. LOL My female kills anything that moves in our yard and during the winter she blimps up by the end of summer..she will be normal again..only to do it all over again. My male cat is just huge!! Mallissa wants a dog and a pink one at that, so Dave told her when she found a PINK one she could have it. LOL

Did I miss anyone?? I hope not..I am getting tired so my mind is not working as well. Has anyone else noticed they have more energy?? The last 3 nights I have been up later. I was even doing exercise in bed last night. LOL Don't think Dave like that too well. He woke up and asked what the heck are you doing?? Once I fall asleep it is a deeper sleep and I feel refreshed in the morning but I can get by on less sleep. Might be the change in the weather. YAHOOO we had a few nice days in a row. Other than the wind yesterday...it was nice.

Ok..it is down to Carrie and Bo on American Idol..who do you want to win??
I say Carrie but her and Bo are so different..I do think he probably will win. Not sure America is ready for a country American Idol.

Night everyone until tomorrow..stay on your track!

Hey Fellow PIC, hope your day is going well.

I just got to work, so thought I would take a few minutes to get caught up with you all. My week has been going pretty well, although a big challenge at lunch today. The office is going out for lunch to a Vietamese restaurant.. so will have to do some preplanning on my points. I am not going to sweat it though as I can make up for it at dinner by having a big salad (lettuce is my point friendly friend :D )

Last day of work for me this week, I have a day off tomorrow and Monday is a holiday here.. yahoo a four day weekend. Although most of that time will be spent studying.

SKYSTHELIMIT ~ Welcome to the group. This is an amazing group of women, you will enjoy yourself here.

SUNSHINE ~ You are just one big ball of energy !! I give you heaps of credit for being so dedicated and finding the time for YOU.

HOTCUPOJAVA ~ you lean mean cleaning machine !! Wanna come to my house ?!?!? Sounds like you have been busy busy.. hope you get some time on the weekend to sit and put your feet up.

ANNIE ~ good for you for resisting the temptation of the cake ! I have been resisting a box of chocolates mint patties on the common table at work for the past week and am hoping someone will soon take them away. As for snacks, I usually bring a few pieces of fruit with me, some cut up veggies etc.. stuff that takes lots of chewing and fills you up.

MOMX3 ~ so sorry to hear about your SIL... our thoughts are with you. Take time for yourself and know that we are here to support you when you need us.

PETRA ~ hope things are going well for you !!

LISA ~ sounds like you are still going strong on program.. well done ! I definately need to start eating a bit more.. i think my body thinks I am starving it and it is holding on to everything I put in it. Guess they give you a points target for a reason ! I definately agree with you on the energy etc. I have been sleeping so soundly for the past few weeks.

Okay kids I better get some paper moving on my desk. Have a great day and I will talk to you all soon.

momX3 05-19-2005 12:43 PM

Hey my PIC buddies - Thanks for all your support. I'm so glad I found all of you. I think I'm feeling better today. It's not just my sil there is alot of other things going on as well right now that I won't bore you with.

clipclop - We take Friday's off during the summer which is nice. I hope you have a wonderful 4 day weekend. Try to relax a little 'kay.

Lisa - I also have more energy although the weather here is driving me nuts. We go from 80 one day to thunderstorms the next. Whats up with that :dizzy:. Good for you getting on the stairstepper. That is one machine I can't do. I just wears me out and hurts my knees.

Petra - I hope the carbing is going well for you.

Annie - I agree with everyone else. You need to let yourself heal. This is one time I say Don't Exercise unless you can walk and not use your arms at all. I hope you feel better soon :D.

Jennie - I hope all is well with you and you are up and moving again soon :ebike:.

Hotcup - I love new tennis shoes. They make me feel like I can leap tall buildings in a single bound . You are worth all $40 girl.

Sunshine - I need just a little of your energy right now. Will you share? ;)

Skysthelimit - Welcome to our group :high:.

O.K. ladies I guess I need to get some work done so here's to all of you
:grouphug:. Thanks again for being so understanding. :)

Afternoon PIC Chicks

Time to shower, so this is a fly by post. I just designed my own work out this morning. But I think I over did it. Feeling a little shakey and rubbery. But since it's time to shower, I'll sit and calm myself after I shower. I put some music on, couldn't find my hand weights, so I strapped my ankle weights on my wrists and stepped on my step for thirty solid minutes while I watched the local news. Alternated knees up, kicks, side kicks, kick backs all the while doing arms with the weights on. It was rough to go the whole 30. But I feel so glad that I did. I will try to catch up to the rest of you (individually) when I'm at work. But I hope you're all enjoying your day. Hugs to those of us that needs hugs, pats on back to those deserving chicks too. And does anyone need a kick? Who is up for a kick? Who'd like to do the kicking? Go shower, Turtle, you're rambling.

jennie934 05-19-2005 02:24 PM

Hi Everyone,
Still under the weather. I took the afternoon off from work. I had to I just couldn't keep going. I dont' get sick often so when I do it really gets me down.
I've been staying on point and with my food but just resting.

Mom- I'm sorry to hear about your family problems. that could definatley get any one down.

Clip Clop - I wish my office would go for vietnamise, they always get pizza yuck! those summer rolls the not fried ones are only 2 points a piece I ussuallly fill up on them.

Lisa- good job, it sounds like you are really keeping your self motivated and making the right choices. put tator tots in front of me and I dont' thnk I could say that I had a small serving. there is just something abou them....

Annie- thanks for the advice, its always good to have a RN around!

Hotcup - your work out sounds good. its always good to have someting like the news to take your mind off of the excersise.

Deerod, Petra, Moonray, Sunshine, Sky, I hope you are all having a good day.

I'm off to my nap. hopefully I can sleep off this cold.

Jennie

MoonRay 05-19-2005 02:53 PM

I went to the Doctor's today and I was looking forward to my weigh-in but they got my appointment screwed up and I wasn't able to see him :( So now I have to wait till next month to weigh in :( unless I get a chance to go in to a GNC and weigh myself there. I have a WW scale at home and I weighed myself but I think it must be wrong it keeps telling me I'm 335 wich would mean I lost 6 Lbs in one week and I find that hard to believe. (don't want to get my hopes up and then get dissapointed) Well I will see what I can do :D

I'm very proud to all who have been working out!!! Keep at it!! I haven't gotten any work out time in but I have been digging up some rose bushes and replanting them, that must count as some sort of work out ;)

:cheer: KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK LADIES!! :cheer:

MoonRay

momX3 05-19-2005 04:05 PM

Moon - Could you call your Dr.'s office and see if you could just weigh yourself there? Tell them I said to let you do it :D.

Hotcupojava 05-19-2005 04:59 PM

All the ladies in the house say Ohhhh Ohhhh

I'm now at work and working alone tonight. Guess that means no structured 30 minute walk, but I'll put the radio on and pace a circle in my TINY office. If you stood in the middle of the room and I paced my circles around you, I could probably reach out and touch you the whole time. Okay, probably a weird visual, but I'm awful with math, measurements and dimensions. It's a very small room to say the least and I pace in a tight circle like a caged TURTLE. But at least I'm moving. My legs are still sore. I'm guessing all the step tapes and climbing stairs is working. But maybe I should do a strength training tape or toning with Richard. Don't want to injure myself or worse ... burn out.

(MoonRay) I weigh in at my doctor's office all the time. I never have an appointment for it. I just drop in. I guess I don't give them a chance to say no. I pay them good and if the scale isn't tied up, I see no reason why they shouldn't let me weigh. I mean I'm improving my health. They should be happy to accomodate you. Drop in. Don't even ask, just say I'm here to weigh myself, please. :^:

(Jennie934) I sure hope you get to feeling better real soon. Staying on point and OP while sick is VERY commendable. I'm very proud of you.

(MomX3) I'm glad you're feeling some better. Good luck to you at tomorrow's weigh in and measurement at Curves. We can do this! All of us. Grrrrr.. everybody growl.... grrrrr

(ClipClop) I've never eaten Vietnamese food before. I'm not sure there's even a restaurant like that around here. Maybe I'm lucky if it's that "good bad" food. I work across from a Japanese steak house and I've got to tell you, the aroma is heavenly. Feel like it's tempting me on a floating wave like in the cartoons. LOL I hope you managed okay with your OP salad.

(Lisa WY) Tator tots and controlled portions would probably never be together in one of MY sentences. You did awesome! Great job on all that exercise too. And water? Girl, you're rocking!

(Here's my Joey impression.) "How YOU doin?" to Petra65, AnnieRN, ~~Sunshine~~, Skysthelimit, deerod, and Looking2lose. Did I miss anyone?

And where's Kclay61? Playing and cooing with that beautiful grandson, no doubt. Have a great day all.

~~Sunshine~~ 05-19-2005 06:40 PM

Hello everyone!! Hope everyone has had a good day! I am not good at addressing everyone so please excuse me!
Well I got in some exercise not as much as usually because man it is hot out!! But I did 30 minutes of sweatin to the oldies again I love that tape!! I have also rode my bike 4 miles and probably walk tonight like every night!

momx3- Yes I will share my energy come take all you want!! LOL I am very sorry about your SIL cancer has also touched my life!

MoonRay- Yes I believe you could of lost 6 lbs in one week I lost 4.5 lbs once!! I only weigh by my WW scales becuase I do not go to a fitness club to weigh!!

Have good evening everyone!

deerod 05-19-2005 07:31 PM

hello everyone.. this is going to be short because I have to get my butt into gear and start getting the house ready for sunday.. my day is going ok.. except I've been hungry all day..

WELCOME SKY!!!.. I'm usually alot more talkative, but I have alot going until Sunday.. and then Monday is my b-day,, so by tuesday I should be back to my normal chit chatty self.. make yourself at home.. these ladies are the best...

MomX3: My heart goes out to you..:sorry: sometimes life just throws things your way,, and it's unfair.. but somehow things have a way of working themselves out.. I know I said this was going to be short, but let me tell you a little history on myself.. my dad was German.. and my mom is Mexican.. they married when she was 13 and he was 16-17? but my fathers family was very prejudice and they disowned my father for going outside of his race.. therefore I never got to meet any of them.. except for 2 of my dad's brothers.. Kenny and Larry.. well Larry was great.. he was a "real" uncle.. lots of love.. on Sept 12, 1997 my father had a heart attack and passed away (I was 18) .. we we're calling my Uncle Larry (who lived in CA) but his line kept beeping with a busy signal.. well later that evening.. we got a call from my uncle Larrys wife who said she had been trying to call us all day to tell us that my Uncle Larry had passed away (heart attack).. same day .. same time.. they where not twins.. my dad did not have life ins so we had to borrow money for his funeral.. then 2 weeks later the appraisal office contacted us and told us that they were putting our house up for auction because my dad had failed to pay taxes for like 17 years.. then.. 1 month later.. my cousin commited suicide, another cousin killed his own sister (drug deal).. then a month later, my moms mom passed away, and then I had another cousin die in prison.. it was a tough time.. especially since I'm the "baby" of the entire family and I had to suddenly take over everything.. I don't wish anyone the kind of things I had to go through.. but my point of this whole history is that I'm ok.. it really is true "what doesn;t kill you will make you stronger" it took me a long time to realize that but now I do.. and I know that if those things hadn't happened in my life, I would not be here today.. I have 2 sisters.. one Sally (39).. I dont talk to.. she tried to get me into drugs.. and turned her back on her family when we needed her most (much longer story but I will go into that some other time).. and Christy (36) I love her to death, but everyone thinks I'm older than her because of our maturity levels (i'm 10 years younger).. they are both single.. and live with thier boyfriends.. don't have jobs.. bad credit.. Sally has warants out for her arrest.. (and not to brag).. but I'm the only one who is married (almost 5years).. own my car, own my house, and has a decent job.. and i know that at this point of time when this black cloud is over your families head that it isn't fair, and that nothing good can possibly come out of it, but it will.. and we are all hear for you .. with our ears, our thoughts, and our heart.. we all love you very much.. and if you need to cry and just cuss out the world.. that is ok.. we dont mind.. your problem is our problem.. your celebration is our celebration.. we are all in this together..

well ladies.. sorry for taking up so much room.. I really need to get to cleaning.. I'm sorry I havent responded to each thread.. but time really is limited for me right now.. I Love you All.. keep on keeping on..

AnnieRN 05-19-2005 08:00 PM

Hello everyone! I can't get over how busy this board is. I sometimes find it hard to keep up from just day to day.

Momx3- Hope you're feeling a bit better today. I know first hand how hard dealing with an illness in the family can be. Have hope and we're here for you. *hug*

Petra- I have been finding Fitday a bit better, but there has got to be a more accurate calorie counter out there. I totally agree with you on the meats list. I'm going to do some searching around the web. Keep up the good work!

Lisa- Great job on getting the workout in. I was able to exercise today. My muscle "strain" from yesterday feels much better. I actually did WATP this morning, plus did some weight lifting tonight. I can actually smell myself from that workout! LOL

ClipClop- Those ideas for snacks at work are a great idea. We have this cupboard at work we call the "carb" cupboard. It's filled with chips of all kinds, peanuts, cookies, etc. I have been a good girl and haven't been temped ALL week, whereas last week I would eat a handful of Doritos along with my lunch. I love veggies and now that it's the season, I may try bringing some of your ideas.

Jennie- Hope you feel better soon. If you need anything, please don't hesitate to ask. I'm all about weird colored boogers and all that jazz. Working for an ENT specialist isn't as bad as a GI specialist, if you catch my drift. LOL

Hotcupojava- Just had to mention that I love the show Friends and now own the complete 9 seasons (season 10 isn't out yet.)

Deerod- Wow, what a history you've got there. Sounds to me as though you have taken life's lessons and did what we are always supposed to do with them.... learn. Hope you have a great day. :)

On my end, my calorie count so far is great. I typically try and stay below 1500. I'm only at 956 so far for today and it's already 7pm. Did the exercising and I feel great. I might go and buy a scale this weekend. Anyone got any recommendations? I'd like a good digital if at all possible. I find those dial ones very hard to read.

Also, I'm still drinking lots of water (and still running to the bathroom every 30 minutes!) Guess that's an increase in exercise too!

Have a great night! :)

momX3 05-19-2005 08:08 PM

Dee - all I can say is "WOW" and I'm sorry for all the things you had to go through :grouphug: that must of been horrible. It just shows that when it rains it pours :( . You know that is probably why you are as strong as you are. Thank you so much for sharing. You have no idea how much it means to me. I'm thinking that some of what's going on must be hormonal . You know cry one minute and laugh the next :^: . When I read your comment about your puppies I was at work drinking water and thought I was going to spray my computer then my boss would have come in to find out why I was laughing so I had to be quiet. When I got to my car to go home I let it out

Sunshine - I did sweatin' to the oldies today to. How do you like doing the twist?

Hotcup - just keep going in circles :dizzy: .

Oh yeah, and I love all you guys to!!

momX3 05-19-2005 08:18 PM

Annie - You snuck in on my there. I don't know that much about the scales but have heard some good things about a brand called Tanita. If you weigh on the same scale everytime it really does'nt matter if it's a few pounds off because it will show your loss or gain. I like the comment to Jennie about the colored boogers. I'm sure my kids think I'm going insane because everytime I come in here to post I'm cracking up. Laughter is the best medicine ;) :D.

petra65 05-19-2005 08:30 PM

Wow Deerod. You deserve a lot of credit for keeping your act together as well as you have. You could have used the circumstances of your life as an excuse for all kinds of bad behavior but you obviously didn't. I'm with you on the "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" thing. I was raised in foster care and believe me, I've never met another former foster child who made it to medical school.

I've had an interesting day. It started with having to get up extra early--and you know how much I love mornings (NOT) to see a patient in an ER about 30 minutes away at 7 am. I was on call overnight. The hospital system I work for actually owns 3 hospitals spread out over 10 miles or so, and you end up driving around sometimes which can be annoying. I live very close to one of the hospitals but I wasn't lucky this morning.

Then I had patients scheduled from 8-6, and of course a few who just had to talk to me before I go out of town, so a few more than normal phone calls to make. I was supposed to go to a committee meeting (cancer committee in fact) all the way at the hospital the fartherest away and I decided I just couldn't do it today and came home at lunch to let my babies out and have a cup of coffee. My butt was dragging by then.

And I have a really full schedule tomorrow at the cancer center. I don't have much packed. I did get some low carb breakfast bars to pack. This isn't really vacation. It's a conference but at least I'm away from phones and pagers and patients for a week and I need the break. Doggies will have a dog sitter which they like.

On a happier note, my scale said something nice to me this morning but since I weigh myself everyday I have decided my "official weight day" will be Friday. I'll let you know tomorrow if it sticks. If so, my new program is working out well.

Moonray--your doctor should definately let you just come in and weigh yourself without an appointment. I would be shocked if they said no.

Lisa--if you hadn't noticed, a WW point is approximately 50 calories. If something has a lot of fiber you might get a little more, and if something has a lot of fat you might get a little less but that is a good estimate. I found that helpful if I went to the grocery store without my points tracker so I could estimate the points in something.

Everyone else, keep up the good work. I'll let you know tomorrow what the official scale reading is.
