Good Morning Chickies !!!!

It's that darn old Monday again! My hands are so sore from the weed eater I can barley type! I hope I'm not typing too much at work today! The scale was kind this morning, a 2 lb loss. That leaves me 1 more to go to make my Memorial day goal! Man, am I sleepy! I can't wait until Memorial weekend to have an extra day off!!!!

Paige, that sounds like a fun trip! I think were going to take the kids to the beach this summer, we've never had them there before. Since this is my first year at this new job, I only have 1 week of vacation. Next year I'll have two weeks, so I want to take a trip out to Mt. Rushmore and the Badlands! I thought I was going to have to rent a camper, but my darling brother bought one last week to put out on his property. Maybe he let me borrow it! Although it's a tow along, I would have to rent a bigger vehicle to pull it, I think that would cost less! I'll have to check it out and see which will be best!

Kerry, I think 90% of my clothes are black! You keep working out, and before you know it, you'll be exposing you tummy!!!

Ok, I'm going to jump in the shower and head for work! I'll chat with you girls later!!!

I can't even imagine exposing my tummy in everyday life But I have been wearing my bikini for tanning and I've decided that when I buy a new suit this summer it's going to be a two piece bikini type. I really don't think I'm going to make the memorial day goal. I'm so proud of you Lori! You've really knocked it out lately! I'm waiting until TOM is past before another WI. I feel super bloated today and should start anytime now. I'll probably be ready for a WI on Friday. I'll keep everything crossed that I can at least get back where I was (142) before May 30. That's 1.5 lbs per week. I really don't think I can do 2.5 lbs per week.

I need to get more organized about my fitness routine. I'm not really on any schedule I'm just getting there 3-4 days a week and walking a ways with Bella at least 2 days a week. She's not a good walker though and drives me crazy stopping all the time I guess I should be going a couple days in a row instead of my every other day stuff. I think I read somewhere that it helps to burn fat. All the weight loss nonsense starts to blur after awhile.

Well it's Monday and I'm tired. I'm hitting the coffee hard this morning in hopes that my eyes open more than a sliver. I'll be around!

Talking Happy Monday! Hope it's over soon!

Good morning all!
You ladies were really busy over the weekend!

I was at target too this weekend. I actually bought a couple of things...didn't think that much until we got the bill $130 bucks later. It was nice trying on clothes without So I had to buy a few tank tops. Not to mention a couple pairs of slides.

Marie, congrats on winning the bid on the t-shirt, and thank you for the info on sniping. I'll be more careful next time

Paige, congrats on the fiesta ware! I remember growing up my grandparents had a whole set of that. I have no idea what happened to it, but as you can imagine it was pretty old, and probably worth a good bit. Too bad I didn't keep track of it!

Judy, sorry about your move. I went through the same thing here about a year and a half ago. Not fun! We went from lotus to novell. I'm use to it now. Was a pain in the beginning.

Kim, glad you are switching to portion control rather than giving up! I admire you for going as far as you did! I could never do SB myself! I am a carb freak

Kerry, you look marvelous! Keep up the good work!

Lori, I got your pm, I just realized you are from Pittsburgh...(told you I am a dingbat sometimes!) I am from Pittsburgh too! So where did you go for pizza? We went out this weekend too. I loooove chinese food so we went to Sesame Inn. We ordered light though, and my husband and I split the meal.

Have a good day!

Kerry, you look fab! Good for you!

Paige, 39 lbs is wonderful! It's very inspiring to me, as a person who has a lot to lose.

Lori, I would love to keep working out of boxes if it meant that my low-key search for a new job was moving right along. I had a job interview on Friday, and I think I have a good chance of getting it.....but I will need to assume that I'll be at my current job indefinitely, because I don't do well working in limbo.

Kim--I'm sorry that SB wasn't the plan for you. But it sounds like it was a good learning experience, and you're still on track, so all right then!

Marie, I visited the Klamath Falls area several years ago, and remember being envious of people who had those gorgeous views every day, while they ate their breakfast or whatever! How nice to finally know someone for whon that's true.

I'm still struggling with keeping my focus as my weight moves downward at a glacial pace. I will pay much more attention to portion sizes, which I know have crept up, and to meditating in the morning. My shins feel fine after going to Curves on Saturday and 45 mins or aerobics yesterday. I won't reach 225 by Memorial Day, but I will shoot for steady progress, and seeing 229 at least once on the scale before then.

Happy Monday!

Here I sit talking myself out of exercise. . . . I know very well that it is a BAD way to start the week, but I am so tired (have been all day) and I am waiting on TOM so I feel ick. I think maybe I'm just not into the gym tonight - I need to be revved to go there. Maybe Bella and I will go for a power walk or if DH gets home soon maybe I can talk him into going to the lake so we can walk the hills.

I know I am so bad. I've eaten well today though! That's gotta count! I really just want to crawl into bed and order takeout.
Bad Kerry.

Hi all, I hope your Monday was good and flew by if you were at work. Like usual, I wasn’t but Lori, I didn’t nap today. DH and I replaced a countertop and put the new laminate on it. It looks beautiful. Two more counters and the kitchen will finally be finished.

DS#1 moved out yesterday. It’s a weird thing thinking of him living somewhere else, but he’s grown up and was ready to be on his own. He’s almost 20 and if very responsible. It is weird though. But I have a CRAFT ROOM!!!!!! I moved the rest of his stuff out this morning and started patching the walls. Boys… On Wednesday I’m going to paint it light purple then DH is going to put up the countertop that we took out of the kitchen today. I will have lots of room to use my sewing and knitting machines, as well as doing stained glass. I’m very excited about that.

Kim, congrats on going running first thing in the morning. I know nothing but the bogey-man could make me do that. I envy people who can run. And enjoy eating whatever you see fit instead of the regimented SB diet.

Kerry your picture looks great. You’re doing great so if you don’t go to the gym one night it’s not going to set you back. I wouldn’t worry about it.

Lori you deserve a prize for doing all that yard work. You make me tired just thinking about it. My favorite yard work is vacuuming my pool. It’s so peaceful and I only do it when it’s sunny out. But second favorite is weed whacking. I love pulverizing those little suckers. I like it best when I pull them out, but that’s too much work for as much property as we have. So I just weed my pool and I whack the rest.

Paige, your trip sounds like fun. Phoenix is hot and since I’m sitting in winter clothes at the moment, it sounds perfect. Bet your kids will be perfect and you’ll be worrying for nothing. Just tell them what you expect and expect the best.

Julie, you’re welcome about the sniping info. It has saved me money, but then I lost an auction because the bid was made too late. Guess one auction out of the many is nothing. Enjoy your new tanks and slides. I really do like clothes from target.

Judy, I used to live in Hampton, VA for 6 years (hubby was military) and I thought the DC area was beautiful in the spring. It’s very different from here, though. I do like it in Oregon.

I guess that's it for now. Tomorrow I must work, but I'll be back tomorrow evening. Till then, take great care of yourselves.

Dh needs the computer to translate a bunch of articles from french to english so he is letting me on for a few minutes. Enough time to basically catch up on all your posts today. Sounds like everyone is doing well. I'll try to write more tomorrow!!!

Good Morning Chickies !!!

I need a day off!!!! Kerry, I know how you feel about being tired and not wanting to work out! I hope you made it for a walk! I would love to have the time to go to the gym, but I have trouble squeezing in a work out here at home, I couldn't imagine trying to run some where to do it. But it takes all kinds of will power to get off my butt and just do it! I always feel 100% better after I work out, no matter how tired I am.

Julie, I'm about 50 miles North of Pittsburgh, I live in Kittanning. I usually just say Pittsburg, coz nobody can pronounce Kittaning and most people never heard of it. Well I shouldn't say that if you saw Mothman Proficies (with Richard Geer) it was filmed here in Kittanning. The bridge that fell in the movie, I drive across that thing a few times a week.

Marie, I hope DS dosen't need to move back, once you paint it purple and move your stuff in he'd have to sleep on the couch! My brother took over my old room. He has his TV and recliner all set up in there. Although I do miss having a sewing room. My stuff is jammed in multiple corners now.

Paige, as soon as your done for the summer will you get a turn at the computer while DH is at work? I hope so for your sanity!!

Judy, I'm glad your shins are feeling better and your getting back to Curves, that has to help! I know your progress is slow, we all feel your pain! Although I'm getting close to my goal, I'm going to need major help to stay there!

Ok, I have to get ready for work, I'll check in later!

Good Morning!

Well I did get my butt out the door for a 20 minute walk/jog with Bella. And thank goodness I did since DH arrived home with Pizza! Sabotager extraordinaire. I complained about my belly to him this morning and he said he wouldn't do it again. We'll see. He can be so evil! I still stayed under calories even with the pizza since I hadn't eaten much up until then.

I think the scale is going in the right direction albeit slowly. TOM still hasn't showed and I'm not making anything official until after that. I'm hoping and trying though!

Marie - Way to go on your very own craft room!! Woohoo!!

Judy - I think focusing on smaller portions is a great way to stay satisfied by still getting what you want but not too much of it. It also helps me if I drink a big glass of water before I eat.

Julie - I did the EXACT thing at Target last week sans shoes. I bought lots of tanks on sale as well as two cute skirts! It was fun, but pricey in the end!

Paige - I have an old laptop sitting here that you can have Actually the tech guy just dropped it off and I don't even know if it will run! You need your own computer girl. Have you looked at tigerdirect.com? They have some great deals!

Kim - Are you out there? Are you ok? I hope your doing better

Joetta - I hope your dad is doing well and you too. Hope to see you soon.

Robin! I hate it that you can't get on to visit us nowadays. I hope you're doing well and staying on plan. Please update if you can.

I'm sure I missed someone. . . See you chicks later

Default Good morning! :coffee:

Hello everyone!
Kind of a rough morning. Could barely drag myself out of bed when my 2 year old came in and made me get up! I only got 10 minutes in on the treadmill today but hopefully I will make up for it at lunch...if it's not freezing outside! The weather here has been so goofy!

Kerry- Good for you getting out there and walking! I know it's hard to get motivated sometimes....that's how I was this morning, but every bit helps! And I know what you mean about your husband bringing the pizza home...my husband does stuff like that all the time, but since I am on JC my meals are planned out for me, so it makes things a bit easier for now. I'm hoping that my new eating habits stick with me once I am on my own I don't ever want to get back up to 171lbs again!!!!Portion control, portion control, portion control!!!!

Marie- Sounds like you are busy! Congrats on having your kitchen almost done. We moved last year to a house that needed renovating before we moved in, so I know how much fun that is I'm also glad you are getting a craft room, but I can imagine it must be hard to have one of your children flying the coop....I guess they need to grow up! I only have 1 son, he's only two, but I am sure when the time comes I will be blubbering all over the place!

Judy- Good job going to curves and watching portions! I'm glad your shins are ok!

Lori- I use to live in the city, but moved to Wexford a year ago, I still say I am from Pittsburgh too

Have a good day everyone!

This week is definitely starting off much better. Even though I'm staying within calories I feel like I'm cheating with all of the carbs I'm eating again...I'M LOVING IT THOUGH!!!! I just love my cereal and yogurt especially. I made it to the gym this morning for a spin class and some weights.

Kerry-You the bomb girl!!!! Pizza sounds so good. I lose control with the stuff though. There's no way I could stay within my calorie range. I usually eat about 5 pieces.

Lori-141!!! That's awesome!!!!

Julie-I can't leave Wal Mart without spending at least $100 each trip. I wish we had a Target here but we don't I'm a carb freak also.

Judy-They say slow and steady wins the race....good thing for us, huh?

Marie-That will be cool having a craft room. Lavender is my favorite color.

Paige-I understand your nervousness about flying with your children. Would you believe I've never flown anywhere? Too scared.

Good evening everyone!!! DH is giving the kids a bath so I am taking advantage of the computer. I am going to try and get my own laptop. Actually while I'm in Arizona this summer I am going to try and talk my dad into giving me his laptop. He has mentioned several times lately about looking at new ones....I would hate for the old one to just go to waste!!!

Kim- I'm glad you are liking your new plan!! It certainly helps to stay on plan when you don't feel deprived!!!!

Kerry- Way to go!!!! Pizza and you still managed to stay in your calorie range, that's awesome!!

Julie- Is JC helping you so that so can maintain your weight loss??? I did JC about 15 years ago and back then you ate only their food (900 cal. a day) and I lost like 40lbs in about 10 weeks!! The weight loss was great but it was really hard to maintain once I was off of their food!!! I don't know how much the program has changed since then. I'm glad you are liking it.

Lori- I'd like a day off to!!! Will you call in sick for me tomorrow!!!!!

Marie- Wow, you don't waste time!!! Hope he doesn't change his mind next week and decide to come home!!! hee-hee I get teary-eyed just thinking about my babies leaving the nest... but then again they aren't teenagers yet and that feeling could fade fast once that happens!!!!!

Judy- Hang in there!!! Like Kim said "slow and steady wins the race". I know how you feel though. If only it went off as fast as it came on!!!!

Tomorrow is a big day!! DS graduates from Kindergarten!! Wooo-Hooo! He is so excited he can hardly contain himself. I am not ready for him to be in the first grade...he is still my baby!!! I'm not very good about letting go. The other day when I dropped him off at school he said it wasn't cool to give him a kiss but a quick hug would be okay!! I'm glad DD is still a snuggle bug!!!! They grow up so fast!!! It seems like just yesterday when I thought I'd never be able to get pregnant...and now my babies are growing up!

Well have a great day tomorrow and I'll check back in later.

Morning chickies, well here I am another day off. Although working 3 days a week is great, trying to get 5 days of work into 3 days is sort of hard. But no, I’m not complaining. Today is painting day. I’m painting my craft room. The walls are patched and everything is out. So I’m ready.

Lori, I know what you mean about sewing stuff in corners. I’m looking forward to not having my stuff jammed all over the place. I always feel like I have to finish sewing something so I can put it all away. Now I can sew, do stained glass, use my knitting machine at a snail’s pace if I want. I think I’ll enjoy the crafts more since I won’t always be in a rush.

Kerry, good for you on the walk/jog and not overeating the pizza. I am still struggling with motivating myself to exercise. I go for a few weeks then fizzle out. I just don’t have a solution for long term exercise. Maybe if the weather warms up and we can open our pool will help during the summer. I love to swim and that’s exercise. Mother Nature isn’t very cooperative these days. I too find drinking a glass of water/soda before eating really helps the portion control.

Julie, good thing your 2 year old dragged you out of bed. Getting up is my hardest time of the day. I remember when my kids were young and would want to get up. But those days are long gone. Now I struggle everyday and have been late to work because of it. I hope you get your walk in. Being outdoors is just great. Also, I didn’t blubber, but when he graduates from college next year and moves away, then I will be very sad. Right now, his house is about 6 blocks from where I work. If I need a DS fix, I can just drop by – but I don’t want to do that too often that he gets sick of me.

Kim, I’m sure happy you’re enjoying yourself again. SB definitely wasn’t for you. Life is too darn short without being miserable about food. And good job on the exercise. Wish I could say the same about me and doing some but I will paint today. That’s got to be some type of exercise. Hopefully… Purple and pinks are my favorite colors. When DH let me paint the house a very light purple I was surprised. But he really likes it. It looks like white until the sun hits it then you can see the tinge of purple. DS#2 said he would prefer that I don’t paint his room purple when he moves out and I told him that when he does move, it won’t be his room anymore. He pointed out nostalgia and I told him I would probably go light sage green for the guest room. That made him happy. It was a funny conversation.

Paige, good luck on getting the laptop. It sounds like an ideal solution since he wouldn’t need two. And no, even after they’re teenagers, you still love them to death. I adore DS that moved out. He and I have always been very close, but he doesn’t live far away. Trust me, the teary-eyed feeling isn’t far away when I know that he’s moving away next year. Congratulate your son on graduating K. That’s a cool step in their lives. DS#2 is graduating high school next month and he’s my baby. These children always make mom teary-eyed.

Well, time to paint. I will check in later.

Talking Halfway to goal!!!!

Well, I am so excited! I went to my weekly weigh in last night with the thought that my weightloss has slowed down and pretty much just accepted it, but when I got on the scale I was down 3lbs!!! I'm on
I am trying not to be too cocky....last week I only went down .5lbs, but that has kinda been a pattern with me. A great loss...(usually not 3lbs though) and the next week a little less or alot less...ok though, slow and steady wins the race...right???? But I'll tell ya what, a 3 lb loss is a great ego boost!

Paige, I am on a 1200 cal diet. The food is great, and so far the average I have been losing is a little less than 2lbs a week. I have been on this since Feb 15th. I have a 1 year membership with a maintenance plan which I can renew after the year is up, which I plan on doing. They want me to start doing a couple of meals a week on my own, (which I do at least once a week anyway when I go out) so I can learn to eat properly without having to rely on their food forever. I did alot of research on them before I joined and thought they were the best option for me. I did see alot of complaints from people who gained the weight as soon as they went off program, but I think they are doing alot more now to educate people once they are on maintenance. 900 calories sounds wayyy too low for anyone to be on, so I guess they have gotten their act together in that regard. They are still a bit pricey, but my husband and I use to go out 3-4 times per week for dinner, plus I was eating lunch out at work a couple of times a week, and with the discounts I get I think im my case anyway it is cheaper in the long run
Sorry if I sound like a JC commercial I know it is not for everyone, but I am just so happy it is working for me. I usually would give up on anything I would try on my own within a month!

Hi ladies!!

Today was Cameron's kindergarten graduation. I think the anticipation leading up to the big event wore him out. We were going out to eat tonight but he just wants daddy to get him a happy meal and bring it home so I guess I don't have to worry about using my bonus points tonight. I have attached a pic of my big boy!!! I spent some time this afternoon updating pictures on the kids blog http://camandhan.blogspot.com if anyone wants to check out my babies!! Opps...big kids as they say.

Well, I just talked to my dad because he had forwarded our itenerary to me for our trip and it looks like we will be going for 3 weeks instead of 2!! Opps! We were suppose to go out on the 24th but he got the tickets for the 17th because he didn't look at his computer correctly! So I guess we will take the kids to see the Grand Canyon since Cam has bugged me all year about going and then we might drive over to Califonia for a few days and go to Disney World/Land...I never know which one is which!! So it looks like my 6 weeks of vacation time are filling up fast!!! Then hubby will fly out and spend the last week with us. We did 3 weeks last summer but the day we got there my dad discovered he had shingles which can be pretty painful so he couldn't swim with the kids and he wasn't feeling well for the first half of our visit. So it seemed liked it was just to long for the kids to be away from home and daddy!!! But as long as grandpa is up to it we should have a great time.

I will have to be really good for 3 weeks while I try to stay on plan. I may have to go to WW and weigh in while I am there to keep me focused!!!

Julie- I am so glad that you are enjoying JC. I have a lifetime membership so I could go back at anytime. It sounds like it has changed alittle. I loved losing the weight so quickly, and I did manage to keep it off for about 2 years but as soon as I met my husband it was all over!!! They just didn't teach you how to eat once you were off their food. Back then you just ate their food...not an option to cook yourself. Good luck with it!!!

Not too many people around here today!!! I hope that means you all are doing something fun rather then "working", but then again I guess that is why we call ourselves "working stiffs"!!!!! Check back later.
