Sounds yummy, Lori. Thanks. It sounds like you're staying really busy. You could probably even count the weed eating as a workout.

Well, Zac's home, but woke up pretty sick this morning. He didn't even feel like going to church. I'm staying home with him in case he needs anything. I might even call in to work if he doesn't feel better. I'm so glad he's home. I did O.K. with my eating yesterday, but I woke up in the middle of the night craving peanut butter and couldn't resist. At least I've gotten all of the junk out of the house. Peanut butter is probably the only high calorie thing that is hard to resist. Hope you ladies enjoy the remainder of your weekend.

Good Morning Chickies !

Where is everybody??? I hope just busy! Kim I hope your son is feeling better soon! Sorry, I don't know why I thought his name was Justin, see what a dork I am 6 am!

I did it, I finally broke the 130's! The official weigh in this morning was 139 lbs. That's a 1 & 1/2 lb loss from last week. My kids only have 2 days left of school and I'm not real sure what I'm going to do with them yet. My dad is only going to be able to handle 1-2 days a week, we asked my sister-in-law if she would help out (neither one of them work) but as far as I know she hasn't said if she would or not!

The weekend flew by way to fast, I hope we have this nice of a weekend next week. Oh and of all places, I got sun burn on my kneck. I'm so used to having long hair that I never even thought about covering up my kneck! But we have my whole side walk framed in, now we need to frame around the porch and get my rocks and the rest of my hedges. I can't wait to get it don, it will be fun. Were going to make the frame around the front porch a flower bed, I've never had one.

Ok, I've got to get ready for work, see you all later!

Default Monday Monday

Good morning ladies! I hope you all had fabulous weekends. It was just beautiful here! We had a great time at the club on Friday and all of my friends came out to party. Then we got up on Saturday and cleaned like mad. I can't believe how great the house and the deck look now. I swear we hadn't dusted in ages. Did I tell you all about the fire pit we got a couple weeks ago? Well with the deck cleaned up and the outdoor furniture shiney and white - It's like another room! Then on Sunday we had invited some friends over, but only one showed up. We had some good food on the grill, pork loin, bbq chick, corn on the cob and potatos. It was great. Probably not on the diet, but who cares - it was fun!

I was glad that the scale said the same thing this morning after my weekend of negligence. I'm still happy with myself even if I maintain here and there. I have gotten into the range where I am happy and I am hopeful that I will see the 130s!

Lori - WAY TO GO!!! That is so great to see you get below 140! Congrats! You are so much better at this than I am for sure. I bet you're going to be at that goal and maintaining before you know it!

Well, I'm out for now. I'll check back in later. I hope we see you all around. I think the weekends are just too nice to find us at the computer.

Default Happy Monday!

Hope you all had a good weekend! I got a bit of a sun this weekend...finally a nice weekend around here Funny thing though...I only got it on my arms and shoulders nothing on my legs They are still ghost white

Things have finally slowed down a bit at work so I hope I can at least check the boards daily.
I have also changed my workout routine a bit....I was walking 15-20 minutes on my treadmill in the am and walking 20-30 minutes at lunch, but with my new workload, I can't count on being able to do that every day, so now I do 30 minutes before work as well as alternating 1lb weights every other day with abdominal excersises. So I am getting in at least 30-40 minutes 6 times a week (sometimes more) as well as 20 on sundays....I have to do some kind of excersise every day otherwise one day will turn to two days etc...etc.

Marie- sorry the weather has been so bad out your way I'm sending you some vibes! Nice that your craft room is almost done...or should I say done..I imagine it is by now.

Kim- Good girl eating your fruit and veggies...you sound like me...I never touched the stuff very often until about 4 months ago! Keep it up! Sorry Zac is sick...my son has been sick on and off for the past week...hard to see them like that!

Kerry- I saw about your eye doctor experience...I HATE going there! So I can definatley relate. My eyes are bad so I need to go more often than I like!
I want to try that coke with splenda...have not had it yet...I am a coke addict maybe I should rephrase that.....and I have had none since I joined JC 4 months ago.

Lori- Congrats on breaking 140! I hope to do that soon myself! That is great that you have been working out steadily for the past 20 weeks! You should be proud! Most people don't keep it up that long. Sounds like this is a permanent change for you!
By the way the chex mix sounds delicious I am going to have to try it!

Cya all later!

Hi everyone,

Well this is my last Monday off until July. The end of school is a busy time for me at work and so I have to work a full schedule again starting on Thursday - in other words, I have Wednesday off too. So far today has been busy with the vet. Goldie, my golden retriever, was bulldozed by Kodiak on Saturday afternoon and hasn't been able to walk on her left back paw. So we brought her to the vet this morning and she has two broken toes, each broken in three pieces. She's staying at the vet's until tomorrow - they'll put her under and reset the bones and put a cast on her today. I can smell my vet bills coming my way. Aft3er Kodiak's experience two months ago with the abuterol, my dogs are getting a little spendy.

I got to go swimming on Saturday. The pool was up to 82 degress even though the aire was only 70. It was great and I did a few laps. Now it's snowing and in the low 40s so the pool is covered and probably losing degrees as I type. Oh well, summer will eventually come and our weather isn't as bad as some of the flooding I've heard about. So I'm still thankful I live in the desert.

Lori, way to go!!! 139 is so awesome. I'm really proud of you - you've been so focused. Someday, that will rub offon me. I'm not totally focused, but I'm not totally out of it either. Tomorrow is weigh in day and I'll let you all know how the month without the scale went. I think that weighing daily is better for me. I just lose incentive without the numbers.

Kerry, your deck sounds great. The BBQ pit would be really cool. I'll have to look into that next summer. We just have a regular BBQ but yours sounds better.

Julie, you're so dedicated to your exercise that I'm very impressed - and a little jealous too. I'm still having trouble getting motivation, but you're an inspiration.

Today, I'm going to work on my knitting machine and finish a sweater I started in Feb. before the home improvements took over my life. It's a sea green hooded cardigan. I want to finish it before my trip to Alaska in the summer. Did I tell you all that I was going on a cruise to Alaska in July. One would havet hought that was motivation to lose more weight, but alas, I'm a slug. So today is knitting day, and hopefully we'll be able to take the two huskies out for a hike up the mountain between snow showers. Then I'll have done my exercise - that would be cool.

Talk with you all later. Time to go out to DH workshop and retrieve my scale for the morning.

Hi, ladies!

I'm crawling up out of the frantic, negative mess that has been my work life for the past few months, and feeling pretty good about things for a change. I had a hard time consistently eating per plan, but going to Curves and walking more (50 minutes a day, if I take a long walk from the subway to my new office building) kept me from gaining, and I can feel my thighs and hips toning up. I have also worked in a few cardio sessions in my apartment building's exercise room, although that really feels like a chore--the room is stifling hot, and smells like dirty socks

I spent the weekend relaxing, pampering, meditating and reviewing what has and hasn't worked so far this year. And I have that big 'final' interview for a new job on Thursday, which I'm feeling very positively about. I woke up feeling better than I have in quite a while, feeling large and in charge! I've missed checking in here every day. I think that I'll have a bit more control over my time, things should calm down a bit at work. Thanks for your words of encouragement! It's nice to be missed, but it's even nicer to be here!

Good Moring Chickies !!!

It is suposed to be a beautiful day today, I can't wait. It is the kid's last day of school, they are so excited!

It is getting harder to focus, with the weather warming up I don't want to cook and I want to spend my time relaxing. (that's what got me in trouble in the first place) I'm so glad to see every body checking in, I was a little worried, but your all still here so that's great!

Judy, glad to here from you, good luck with the interview!!! I'm glad to here the bad move at work is finally over and you can get back to life in general. Man I would have eaten my way through every fast food joint in a 10 mile radius under that kind of stress, good for you for haning in!

Kerry, I want a huge deck in the worst way, but I hate to build it not knowing where we are going to be living. My mind is completely split, I don't know where to sink my time and money into. I just hate it! I want to know excatly what is going on. Good that you stayed the same on weigh in, that's tough when your having fun all weekend long !

Marie, sorry about your dog! Poor thing, and your poor wallet!! I can't believe it's snowing there, YUCK! I like the snow, but only Nov. through Jan., by then I'm so sick of it I want to scream.

Julie, your new work out plan sounds like it may work out well for you! I have the same problem, one skipped day leads to dozens of skipped days. Glad the new position is finally in place and things are going to be less hectic! We finally hit 80 degrees, I thought it was never going to happen, but that muggy air yesterday was awful!

Well last night when I got home DH was trying to work on my landscapping timber, and he was just a little loopy about it. It is so hard to get him to work with wood. He's a surface grinder and everything has to be insanly close with specs, but with the wood nothing matches up and it makes him crazy! Our front porch is sagging about an inch and he just got all crazy. I felt so sorry for him, I didn't ride my bike last night, I moved to the porch with my jump rope. I can't believe we used to do that for hours as kids, I was soaked. Were you guys able to see my pictures from my bike ride over the weekend??? I can't tell if it's working or not, let me know! http://users.adelphia.net/~lmatis/ Ok I have to get ready for work, thank you for all the encouragement!!! Talk to you later!

Lori - Sorry dear, but we can't see the photos. All the images have the red x instead of a photo. Make sure your file names match and are directed to the server and not your C drive. I'd love to see them so I hope you can get it working. (try viewing them from work so you see what we see, when you view from the computer it was made with it will always appear ok to you)

Judy - It's GREAT to see you! I'm glad you have found the time to visit us It sounds like you are spending time on you and finding what will work for you. I wish you all the best in this.

Marie - That is some weird weather I'm glad that you got to go swimming, but I can't believe you then had snow! That is insane! Sorry about Goldie, I hope her toes heal fast! Poor thing. And you too poor thing with those vet bills. Bella's ears have cleared up and she lost a pound in the 10 days before we went back to the vet. At that rate she should be at her goal by August.

Julie - I have to lay in the sun and focus on tanning my legs to get them anywhere near the shade of my arms. It's a pain and I sweat the WHOLE time. It sounds like you are doing great on the exercise regimine. Good for you!!

Kim - I hope Zach is feeling better. That stinks to be sick just when the weather improves. Is it allergies?

Paige Dear are you out there? I hope you're hanging in!

I'm doing ok. I do well staying close to my calorie ceiling and I just keep maintaining. I know I need to get moving if I want to continue losing. I'm having a hard time kicking my butt in gear. *sigh* I'm so lazy sometimes.

Default Scary thing happened in our family

Over the weekend a very scary event took place in our family. Thankfully it ended with everyone ok and my oldest niece being a hero. My youngest niece Lillian (age 2) fell into the pool and went under a raft and drown. My oldest niece (age 7) was the only one that saw it happen. She dove in and pulled her up. My SIL & her friend got Lillian out and performed lifesaving CPR. Thankfully Lillian is ok.

Here is the link to the story that the local station did on them. I am so proud of Madeline

It's a beautiful day here in Arkansas. I'm feeling really good today. I had my first real session with the workout program yesterday and did pretty well. My girlfriend threw up though. I felt sorry for her. I'm doing a spin class today. I ate pizza yesterday, but still stayed around 1600 calories so that wasn't too bad. The trainer said that our workouts should burn around 700 calories.

Paige-I actually had a little time to change my avatar too.

Lori-I wasn't able to view the pics either.....only a small red x. That is wonderful that you are in the 130's! I'm so happy for you!

Kerry-Sounds like you had a fun weekend and if I looked like you, I'd be perfectly happy with maintaining. Zac is feeling better and he does have allergies, so that could be it. He inherited the dreaded allergy problems from me unfortunately. That was a great story. I'm glad your niece is O.K. That shows how important it is for everyone to know CPR.

Julie-Sounds like you're doing great with your workouts. I usually exercise Mon-Fri. It seems to be harder for me to find time on the weekends since I work.

Marie-I could not imagine snow right now....that stinks! A cruise to Alaska sounds like a lot of fun. I hope Goldie is feeling better.

Judy-Good luck Thursday!

Lori--congratulations on reaching 130! I guess that means that your ship has come in

Kerry--I'm so glad that you are able to share a good story about your niece instead of a sad one! I hope none of the kids are too traumatized.

Kim--a workout that burns 700 calories, wow! I can't imagine my body working so hard. You've really shown a lot of dedication. One of my co-workers here loves spinning, her eyes light up with an eerie glow whenever she talks about it....actually, it's a little frightening....

It's officially summer in DC, if the temperature is over 90 degrees. Time to take a walk and head to Curves.

Have a good evening, everybody!

I didn't read the story yet, but will later tonight, but how scary! That just sends shrills up my arms!!! My oldest son went under and the teenager in the pool just stood there. Thank goodness I was on the deck, you know how they say about super strength, well I had it. I bent down and grabbed him by one arm and picked him straight up and swung him to where I was standing. And trust me, my kids were never light weights!

Judy, not at 130 yet, I'm at 139 so I have 9 more to go! It will probably take the rest of the summer, but hey what the heck. I like the co-worker's twinkle, I almost spit my coffee on the screen !!!

My kids are dying to get out of here tonight, how funny! There first night of summer break and they both want to leave.

Kim, your poor friend! I hope she dosen't give up that's really though! You keep he motivated and let her know that it's ok to toss her cookies. I don't think many of us could keep up either!!! Glad Zach's feeling better!!!

I can't tell at work, the red X is on almost all pictures! So it's so hard to know. I was affraid of that when I loaded them, but I'm just learning so I'll get it.

Ok, I've got tons to do tonight, I'll check back later!!!

Hey everyone just a quick post. We just got home alittle while ago from DD's dance recital. I feel like I can breathe again...it has been insane and she is only 4. I had to rush from work and pick them up at 12:00 but I had to stop off at the store and get a few last minute things that she had to take with her and then order her flowers so that I could pick them up on the way. We got home and I had to get her costume on and her makeup!!! Putting makeup on a 4 year old is not an easy task...but it was accomplished and yes she looked like a hooker...but she fit in with all the others so I quess I did a good job. Then she had a hair appointment at 1:30 then we had to pick up her flowers...and then I had to drop her off at 2:30 for rehersal. And of course they were performing downtown where the Houston Ballet performs...I dropped her off and went and parked the car in the underground parking and got lost!!!! Felt like an idiot!!! Then we rushed over to Spagetti Warehouse for a quick dinner and then back to the theatre for the 7:00 show and we got home at 11:00!!!! What a day!!!! Anyway things should calm down alot now that this recital is over!!! I'm off to bed.
