Ok, having access to the computer all day is going to be badddddddddddd!!! I spent $25 in the first 30sec. on ebay. I have to say that was the fastest buy I have ever had!!! Bad Paige....Bad Paige... It could be a dangerous day!
It was a really stupid purchase. A piece of fiesta ware...an egg plate to put deviled eggs on. I think I have made them maybe twice in my life!!! It had less then a minute left and I won it with 2sec. left. Oh...the thrill of victory! Just trying to add unique pieces to my collection.
Happy weekend! I have so much to do, arrgh! My apartment's a mess. My nonprofit is in the process of moving, and I will have a cubicle instead of a desk at the new building, so I've been bring home books, personal files, knickknacks, etc., and need to figure out a place for them at home. They say that tomorrow will be a rainy day, so I've been running errands today and taking advantage of the great weather.
Things have been tense and hectic at work. Along with the whole moving uproar, our IT department also switched us from Outlook to Lotus, and changed our intranet as well. I'm sure this will all be for the best, but right now everyone wants to kill them--too many changes at once!
I finally made it to Curves today. My shin splints are getting better, because I've not been doing much physically for two weeks. I really missed my long walks and working out, and it would have helped with the stress at work.
Hi to the folks who've joined while I've been AWOL
Kerry, I hope you enjoyed your day at the library. And in answer to your question, "yes" it counts as fitness. If they can find health benefits in chocolate, doing you-know-what has to do all kinds of good things for you
Paige, a deviled egg plate, I'm so jealous! Oh, well, I'm sure you really needed it! I'd better stay off EBay, I have no control.
Kerry-thanks for the online calculator. I'm going to follow your advice.
Lori-Thank you so much for the encouragement. God bless you. You don't know how much it meant. I was moping around the house feeling down, but got up, put on some jeans that I had only worn once before "outgrowing" them. They fit perfect now by the way. I fixed my hair and put on some bronzer and a little makeup. Then, I read your posts and feel like a new woman. I'm so glad I found this website and this thread.
Well I'm just checking in to let you all know pizza night was wonderful, but I feel bloated! Guess that's what I get!!! I don't know if it was from stuffing my face, or the amount of water I felt I needed (must have been saltier than I thought) I know Kim, chatting to you girls is a blessing! Tomorrow, back to healthy eating!!
My Barbie Doll friend stopped in today, and I was hanging in my baggy PJ's, as usual, so I changed and she was speechless! I was telling her what the kids said and I wanted to show her coz I can't see my back. My DS said mom you've got a line down your back! It's the muscles starting to form on my back, I've never had that happen before! I'm so excited about the changes that are happening I want to see where I can go!
Judy, don't you just hate that! Like you said it's probably for the best, but did they have to do it all at once??? I personally dislike lotus, so I'ld be on the floor having a real fit! But moving cubicals, I'm a pro at that, one time I didn't take my stuff out of the boxes for over a month. Everyone was horrified that I was working out of my boxes, but it got old moving all the time! I just wanted to be sure before I got too cozy! At least at my new job, I know they won't be moving me unless I would request it! I'm glad your shin splints are feeling better! A friend of mine used to have alot of problems until she stopped buying shoes with arches in them, not sure what one had to do with the other, but it really helped her.
Well DS is having problems going to sleep tonight, he gets all worked up over the storms. So I'm going to run!
Paige, nice buy! I love fiesta ware, I have alot of old pieces from my family that appear to be worth alot from the going prices! No wonder DH won't let you have the computer! I think that blows my 3 day rule out of the water! I'm a terrible compulsive shoper, so I try to make rules for myself, if it's still a good idea in 3 days then I go ahead and buy it.
Rise and Shine Sleepheads!!!! Well, I should have stayed home and played on ebay longer...it would have saved me A LOT of money!!!! I spent way to much money at Walmart and Target. It is amazing how fast it all adds up at the checkout!!!!!
I have to take DS to a birthday party this afternoon and I have to cook for the week. I need to make a quick run to walmart...I can't believe with all the money I spent yesterday I actually forgot several things!!!!!
The last 2 mornings the scale has shown that I have lost the 2lb gain from Thursday plus an extra pound. That means -39 lbs. That's like losing my 4 year old and a 5lb bag of sugar!!!! I still don't see that many changes when I look in the mirror, but I do feel better!!!! I won't change my ticker until next Saturday when I have my next official WI. A lot can change (good or bad) between now and then. I had hoped to be at -50 by the time I started summer vacation but that would mean another 11lbs in the next 4 weeks so I don't know if that will happen, but I admit I have been a little lax in writing down my food, so I am trying to do better with that this week.
I hope everyone enjoys their Sunday and I hope the weather is nice wherever you are!!!! I'll check back later to see if anyone has been around.
Hi everyone, I sure hope everyone’s weekend was great. I had a blah day yesterday but am back to normal today. I’ve been okay on my food plan. Not good, but not totally bad either. Today is rainy and bleak outside so it’s indoor stuff today. Yesterday the sun had come out for about an hour and I sat outside talking to my sister on the phone. It was great. Someday my area will turn back into a desert but for now I call it a high mountain desert rain forest. Oh well, there are worse things in life.
Julie, I did win the t-shirt a little below my highest price. The problem of people bidding at the last minute is called sniping. I do it a lot on things I really want to get but don’t want to raise the bidding price too much. If you go to esnipe.com you can see how it works. At first I thought it was sort of cheating but then I realized it saved me money so I use it. For the t-shirt I just bid normally.
Kerry, I’ve heard that you burn a lot of calories doing the horizontal exercise you mentioned. So I think it should count. Hope you survived the lonely and boring day at work yesterday. At least you have patrons that need your technological help…
I’m sorry about the binge, Kim. That’s way too bad. Sounds like SB wasn’t for you if it was too boring and restrictive. But I am sorry about the binge. That had to be tough to face. You’ll do great counting points or calories.
Paige, enjoy the computer for the day. Especially eBay. My home away from home.
Lori, I’m so proud of you to resist the temptation of ebay. I’ve never been one to just go browse – that would be just pain dangerous for me. I go when I’m needing or wanting something specific. I’d be dead meat if I just went there to surf. Also, do you think being a compulsive shopper has something to do with being a compulsive eater. I’m definitely both.
Judy, I’m glad to hear that your shin splints are getting better. Enjoy working out at curves. Sorry about the move and the technology switch. Since I’m part of our IT dept, I will tell you the grand secret. If we change things around, we guarantee our job retention during all the budget cuts. Just kidding, there’s probably a logical explanation for the change.
Well, I finally caught up on all the posts. I hope you have a great Sunday.
Marie
Well I made it through my lonely day at work yesterday. Thanks for keeping me entertained girls! Then we bought the mower and he mowed while I went to the gym. I had only eaten 450 cal so far and then burnt 300. We went out to dinner and had a wonderful time. We went to a small contemporary greek/italian restaurant. The food was wonderful and I splurged a bit (two glasses of wine) but didn't overeat. I knew I had about 1200 cal to spend on one delicious meal and DH & I had so much FUN! It was great!
Kim - I'm glad my advice helped some. (((Hugs))) I'm sorry SB didn't work out for you. I really thought you were going to make it. I myself could never do a diet that restrictive - BUT I have to be on a plan. I tried Lori's way and that's how I put 3 lbs back on It can be a pain to count it all but it's the only way I can hold myself accountable. I think it's great that you put on your slim jeans and felt good about yourself. That's exactly what got me through those weeks when I gained was that I could still wear all the clothes I had been fitting back into so I must not have been doing all that bad. I wish you all the best with whichever route you choose. And we're here to motivate and support no matter what happens. I just know you'll find something that works for you. I really think you need to be less restrictrive about what you eat and more restrictive about how much. KWIM?
Marie - Thanks for the input on the Horizontal exercise I must say I like the idea of it being exercise It sounds like you have some weird weather there. It's cloudy here today too and I'm disappointed since I was hoping for more tanning time!
Paige - That's great that the scale is going in the right direction!! Good for you! Keep it up and I'll keep my fingers crossed for a good weigh in next week. Oh and you crack me up with your shopping Until recently I couldn't relate, but since getting the big raise I've been a little frivolous. I gotta tighten those purse strings again and stay away from Walmart and Target!
Lori - Yay for Pizza! I hope it was wonderful even if you are a bit bloated from all the salt! It sounds like you are looking fine nowadays! Good for you! So I have definitely noticed more muscle definition myself from all the working out and lifting weights. Thanks for kicking my but into gear and encouraging me to get my butt moving. Even if I haven't lost considerable weight since I started exercising - I am stronger, more defined and feel better than ever!
Judy - I LOVE how you compared the "deed"'s benefits to the benefits of chocolate. You and I think alike Sorry about all the madness at your job, that's gotta be rough. I hope things adjust and settle soon and it doesn't drive you to eat! I'm glad your legs are better and you can get back in the swing of things. It should help you work out some of the stress from the work situation.
Well I don't have much planned for today. I'm need to organize my clothes bc they're a mess so maybe I'll do that since it's icky outside. I wish it were bright and sunny and it probably will be tomorrow when I have to go to work!
Well, I just got home from the church potluck. Believe it or not, I actually woke up early and ran this morning. Hopefully it offset some of the calories. Well, I'm back on program (not SB, but just watching the amounts I eat). I've logged my calories all weekend into Fitday so that I know exactly how many to decompensate for this week. That way I won't have a gain before the next WI hopefully. It's kindof a relief to be able to eat what I want again. SB definitely gave me a good boost though.
Judy-I'm glad your shin splints are better. I'll be glad when things settle down for you at work.
Paige-Congrats on the 39 pounds! What an accomplishment! That's wonderful!
Marie-Bless your heart. You're so sweet!
Kerry-Glad you had a good time last night. Thanks for the hug. You're definitely right about me needing to restrict the amount I eat. It's wierd when I get in one of my binging modes. It's almost like I can't stop eating until I'm literally sick. I don't do it very often, but when I do it's bad. I probably need to check into OA.
So this is me and that is my latest hottie outfit I somewhat like that I can go braless again and btw I NEVER thought I would fit into those pants again!!!
Oh my goodness Kerry, You look Great!!! I'll have to grab one of the kids to do a now picture! Well not right now, but in the next few days! I'm looking a bit rough right now. I didn't get a shower this morning and headed out for yard work, the sun came out today. DH is working at clearing brush at our old house and I really feel bad, none of our friends (that we always help) have came around to give him a hand. So to help with the amount of work he needs to get done, I had him run me in the mower and weed eater and I did all the work at this house so he don't have to. My arms are numb from the weed eater!!! I'm a mess I have grass in every thing, hair, skin, (nose, ears ) I really need a shower and the boys need lunch stuff for the week so I need to go to the store!
Paige, way to go on the loss, I don't know 11 lbs in 4 weeks may be pushing it, but 8 would be realstic. But you have done so good up until this point, it dosent' matter as long as you stick with it you'll have a huge loss by next school year!
Marie, I think I have a compulsive personality period, food, shopping, life in general. I'm one of those people who would call you and say I'm running across the state for something I want and I'm going now, do you want to ride along???? I have a bad time waiting for anything, drives DH crazy! He's a planner and I'm not very good at it. My now, now, now, attitude has made me very self reliant though which isn't all bad. But I have learned that the credit cards wasn't good for my compulsiveness so I have to re-adjust my thinking. No more living beyond my income! And it's killing me to have money in savings just in case!!!
Kim, glad your feeling better!!! I was soooo hoping you wouldn't beat yourself up too bad, coz your doing so good.
Ok, I'm going to run and get myself ready for Monday, what a drag!
Wow, Kerry you look amazing!!!!! You skinny thing!!!!
Kim-Good luck with your "new" program! You can do it.
Marie and Lori- I know for a fact that I have a complusive personality!! Good thing I have never been to Vegas or I'd probably have one more thing to add to my compulsive list!!!!
Today has been beautiful. I had to take DS to a birthday party and then came home and sat on the porch while I talked to my dad on the phone. We are getting our tickets to go to Phoenix for 2 weeks this summer. I am a little nervous flying by myself with a 4 and 6 year old. Hopefully they will sleep like they do in the car!!!! DH will then fly home with us. He will come out for the second week. Last summer we went for 3 weeks and that was just too long. 4 weeks of work left!!!!!
I have a ton of laundry calling my name!! I guess I have put if off for as long as I can. Hope everyone has a great day tomorrow.
Thanks girls! Thank goodness for black so I can hide my tummy behind it! I looked around for some "before" photos but I look so awful in all of them I hate to share. Isn't that bad! I'm just pleased I figured out how to upload a photo here - big dummy it took me forever.
Paige - I am in the midst of monster laundry too. DH told me he was doing some on Sat while I worked and then the load he started was still in the washer and the load I had dried on Thur still in the dryer. Men!! That sounds like a nice long trip you're planning! I take it your dad lives in Phoenix? I bet the kids will do fine and I always think the attendants are very accomodating to children flying.
Lori - Lordy girl you have been busy taking care of multiple houses. I don't envy that! I bet it was a good workout though!
I would love to see what everyone looks like if and when they feel ok sharing a photo. I even have an online album if anyone is interested. Of course the photos date years back and I am all shapes and sizes. Although it seems I am mostly behind the camera instead of in front!
