Hey Chicks. I have been MIA due to my mother passing away on Friday the 13th at 9:30 a.m. We did the funeral services on Monday and I was too tried to come in yesterday. I spent the entire week at her beside last week. She just grew weaker and weaker as the week progressed. I have never seen someone suffer like she did. She was 59 years old. This has been the toughest week that I have ever lived.

On the positive side I went to JC last night and weighed in lost 2.8 in the last 2 weeks. I think I might be in control of my emotional eatting.

I have read through some of the posts from the last week and you all sound wonderful and doing well. Sorry about being sick, hopefully your all over it now. I want to welcome hottierockstar and Jasmin. Look forward to getting to know you.

Well Chicks I just wanted to drop you all a line and let you know I am still alive and well. I will chat with you soon again!

Harleymom - good to see you back, SO SORRY for your loss!!!! :hugs: Take some time for yourself to work through your grief. I'm so proud of you keeping the emotional eating under control. If that wasn't a rough test, I don't know what is.

Andrea - I can't offer too much useful advice because I have the exact same problem... I'm thinking I might try keeping cals lower on weekdays so that my average cal count comes out to the desired amount at the end of the week.

Well chickies - I'm online because I'm in the world's longest conference call...but I'm pretty much ready to go...just gotta drop off the dog at doggie jail tonight...we fly out in the morning. Still debating if I can pull off the gym tonight...I dragged the gym bag with me...we'll see. I'm taking my laptop with me - but I'm not too sure I'll be able to find any hot spots to log in from...I'm mostly taking it as a DVD player...

Everyone be good while I'm gone!

I think that's a great idea about lowering the weekday cals...

We'll see you in a few!

HarleyMom

Andrea I eat like a at the weekends! but I'm trying to cut down to one "free" day like in BFL. It's recommended to have a free day so you're not craving stuff during the week and splurging every day!

If it's not working for you, try cutting down the weekday calories, try lifting some weights and try to just take one day "off" on the weekend.

Gina, have a good trip!

My plateau's looking good I'm not going to curse it by telling you all about it till "official" weigh in!

Hi everyone!

I've been a good girl and I've done cardio for 4 whole days in a row! Actually, it feels good to get into some kind of routine that way I don't really dread going to the gym, it's just part of my day now.

Have fun Gina!
Star, your grand baby is a cutie!
Rebel, I'm with 2frustrated, try and cut your cheat weekend down to one day. That's what I really try to do, but don't always accomplish, and I usually do it on my cardio/leg day.
2frustrated, let us know how the weigh in goes!
Hey jasmine!

Have a great day all!

Kathy

Hey - Did you guys watch Biggest Loser last night or American Idol? I tried to watch Biggest Loser but fell asleep. And WOW did I ever sleep good, maybe it was the jazzercise?
I like the idea of cutting your cheating weekend down to one day. Matter of fact, I think on Body For Life you actually get one cheat day a week. When me and DH did that plan awhile back, we picked Sunday for our cheat day. What happens then is that even on your cheat day you can't eat too much....

Ok, I had this big huge post all typed out and WHAMO it erased...UGHHHH

Anyhow, I'll condense it now.

What do you all think of Body for Life. I've heard of it, but never looked into it. I like the idea of having a day off. Dh and I really need some plan or guidlines...we are just doing so-so.

Post more later.

LOVED BL last night!!! I watched American Idol and part of Celebrity Fit Club, too. Can't wait for next week's BL Special Edition!!!

Reb - I hate it when that happens...it has happened to me several times.
So now I try not to put everythig into one post.
Body For Life is a good plan, but if you don't like to work out it is not for you. They are very specific about using weights, how long and size. Also cardio. Then you hve to eat certain things, several times a day.....I would say that overall it is a jammed packed program.
I love the workout part, but didn't follow the diet to a t and I gained 10 pounds of muscle....LOL That was NOT my intention. I'm sure it was my fault and not the plan, it's a good plan......
I agree with you about needing guidelines, I'm way like that too.
But no matter what plan you choose you could always just add that "cheat day" in and be done with it. Pick a plan that you can live with and follow, maybe something more simple and that isn't gonna change your entire lifestyle?
Oh - I emailed you a couple pictures.

Rebel,I did the BFL program 5 years ago and followed it pretty closely and lost 130 pounds. The only thing I did was train a little differently, didn't time myself, and I did cardio more often than they recommend. (5 days a week with lifting 3 of those days). Why don't I do it again.... the million dollar question.

I watched the BL last night, all except for the last 5 minutes. I know the red team won, but I don't know how much they both lost. Love the show!
