Hello Ladies,

I'm so ready for the weekend. Tomorrow going to a Easter picnic with my sister and her daughter. She's two, so it will be lots of fun helping her find easter eggs. I need to be sure and eat before I go, so I don't get tempted with all the food there.

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Hi Everyone,

Well the weekend is here again. I decided what was giving me stomach problems was eating those mixed nuts. Today I threw the rest away. I had oatmeal for breakfast and a tuna sandwich for lunch and then I went bowling. In fact, I feel pretty good today. I brought home a Hugo Walker for my husband and found out it will not fit in the trunk. Even though my car is almost 2 years old, I told him I would check into seeing if we could trade it in for a small mini SUV. I believe this would make life easier. He thinks I am out of my mind but they have been having some pretty good deals here.

It's so great to hear from you ladies. Let's hang in there and who knows this time next year we could all be where we want to be!

Take care,
Anita

Mornin chickies ....... just a quick Monday morning call. It is wet and windy here this morning
I will try and get for a walk later though I have stopped eating chocolate biscuits and coffee now and have been doing so for about 3 weeks now. I have not lost any weight but when I took my BP the other day it was down so the coffee was not helping! If I feel like a treat I have a small cup of tea and 2 WW plain biscuits - no chocolate!
I have put some pictures onto Webshots of the annual Horse Ploughing Match which is held near here on St Patricks Day. If any of you are interested the addy is http://community.webshots.com/user/mooz49/1
(If the link does not work you can copy and paste it to your browser and it might work that way. For some reason when I tried the link it said that the page had moved!)
My brother actually took the pictures.

Nita - it is good that you found out what was giving you stomach problems

Patty - I hope you enjoyed the Easter picnic. I am sure there was plenty of exercise with a 2 year old!

Thin - time seems to go by so quickly ...... it seems like no time since you arrived at Arizona for the winter!

Cat - I am sure you are getting plenty to do. I hope all is going well with your adventure!

Halgal - I hope you are feeling better each day.

Hello Ladies,
Had a great weekend. I weighed in saturday morning and had a 1.2lb loss. I had gained .2 last week so I lost that and then a pound. This week i'm going to try to 2 lbs. I have been eating peanut butter every day and this week i'm going to try and eat veggies instead of the peanut butter. Maybe I'll see a better loss. The easter picnic was fun. Lots of food, but I ate before I went so I wasn't starving when I got there. And once the festivities began, I just had chicken and 1 small brownie. Afterwords I had a major headache and I don't know if that was from the sugar.

Mooz - your so right, I got plenty of exercise chasing my niece. In fact when I saw my sister she looked like she had lost about 10 lbs. She said it was infact from chasing her daughter.

Nita - there are alot of good car deals you just have to really shop. Glad you stomach is feeling better.

Thin, Cat, Hal, Mitchellez, - Hope to hear from you all soon.

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Hi Ladies,

Well today I really feel good--no Tums or stomach medicine. I decided that I should stop taking all my vitamins and it took a few days but I really feel I didn't need everything I was taking. I probably will have to go back on the calcium but I will wait until I hear from doctor. I had one of those bone density tests done today. The other thing I noticed is that I am not as hungry as I was and don't seem to have all those cravings. Now I will have to see if I can start the WW program again.

Saturday morning I am signing up to do a bowling tournament--we will be bowling 10 games on five different pairs of alleys. None of my bowling buddies are game to do this so I am going to do it by myself. I stopped by the alley today and talked to the folks and found out more about the tournament. It does cost $60 but the payout is 1 out of 3 so there is a good chance of getting some of your money back. My DH doesn't think I can handle the 10 games but I really don't see it as a problem. Wish me luck!

l Day -- CONGRATULATIONS on your weight loss. It just goes to show you it can be done. I know we all want it to just go away fast--but we all know that just doesn't happen.

Thin, Michelle, HalGal--hope all is going well and we will hear from you when you get a chance!

Take care,
Anita

Hi Chicks~~ just popping in to say HI.
Haven't done a weigh in for a few weeks, but i have still kept up with my walking and some floor ex. Swam in pool after supper today and sat in hot tub. It was just a perfect day here in the valley. DH had to work, but when he got home i convinced him he NEEDED to sit in the hot tub. He was glad i got him over there.

Taxes are finally done and just have to mail the money in now! yikes. At least we are done with them. (the accountant that is!--i can quit bugging her now!)

YAY 1DAY~~ YGG congrats on the wt.loss. Keep up the good work girl!
Does sound like you might have got a headache from the sugar, once you get your body off of it, that probably will happen.
Did anyone see where they now sell frozen South Beach Diet dinners? I cut out the coupon from Sundays paper in case i want to try one.

~~NITA~~ i'm sure the bowling thing will be fun, and if you are determined i figure you can get these 10 games in! YGG!!
You know all those vitamins could have been the cause of your tummy upset. Maybe just get a multivitamin and take the calcium. Check w/your doc of course.
I just take a good multi one and calcium now.

Just finished reading John Grishams "the Partner". Was that good. Well, sad too, i felt bad for the guy at the end, but the whole thing was so riveting, i read it in no time.

~~MOOZ~~ glad you are doing so well cutting out the snacks. Was this for lent? Will you try to continue it after EAster? You can do this! Feeling better is half of it, right? I know when i changed to decaf coffee it DID make a big diff. in my b.p. I didn't think it would, but i was proven wrong! I mostly drink green tea(with rasp. or berry flavor--that is my fave) can't stand the plain green tea. It has alot less caffeine i guess. And supposedly all the good anti-occidents! So i will try to stay on this track.

All for now chicks...OH< i see where there is a message from Suzanne on the main pages...the site will be undergoing a change in servers, so at some point it will be down for 1 - 3 days. She will let us know more when date is set. They think w/in a week. Might as well be around the easter holiday as we will all be busy then anyway! might be less withdrawal for all of us! LOL

Hello Ladies,

Nita - your so right. I get very impatient about my weight loss. I should be happy with 1 lb a week but I want more. If I look at the big picture 1 lb a week for 4 or 5 weeks that put me at 4 or 5 lbs a month. It adds up, but of couse I want it all in one week. Glad you stomach is feeling better. I too had problems with taking vitamins. I was getting heartburn really bad. I finally found one I could take. Now I just need to remember to take it. I think the bowling will be fun. Gives you a chance to get out and meet a new group of people and exercise while having fun.

Thin - OH, the hot tub sounds really good. I too saw where SB was selling frozen dinners. I have not checked them out yet. Let me know if you try one. Glad you mentioned the note from Suzanne. I had not seen it, so now i know if I can't log in I'll know why. I"m with you, next week would be a good week.

OH, I don't know if I had mentioned but about two weeks ago, I won a book from the contest that 3fchicks were having. They were monitoring how many people were logging in and if you logged 5 days in a row you were entered into the contest. I ordered a lowfat cookbook.

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Mornin chicks ...... just a quick call. I am still busy de-junking ............. trying to do a bit each day. There is so much stuff in this house ........ gathered up over the years ........ I just have to be ruthless! No weight loss yet even though I have cut out the coffee and chocolate biscuits and do at least 10000 steps every day. I go to TaeBo and linedancing on Mon and Thurs. It seems that my body wants to hold on to the weight

Patty - CONGRATS on winning that cookbook. PAtty I would settle for 1 pound a week ..... that would be 52 pounds in 1 year!

Thin - that hottub sounds like the perfect way to end a day

Nita - GOOD LUCK in the bowling tournament ....... of course you can do it ......... you just show them!

Catlover - have just read about your very interesting time in Mexico ........

For any of you who don't have it the address for Catlovers logbook is http://www.malpproject.blogspot.com/.

Halgal and Michelle ..... hoping to hear from you soon.

Have a good day all

Hi Chicks~~
Hope everyone is ready for a nice Easter. I am trying a new recipe for these rolls --some ingred. are sweet potato and dates...it sounds good, i just hope they turn out good! MIL is having at least 15 people to her house for the easter brunch. Will be interesting feeding all that many! I guess each is bringing something tho'.
Last years went well, but that was about 12 people.

MOOZ~~Thanks for the link to CAT. I am interested to see how things are going for her. Yes, even that 1# a week would be excellent wt.loss wouldn't it??
I am now trying more protein in my daily plan. I bought some powder to make shakes and a few bars w/25 Grams in each bar. I read about a wt.loss plan w/o cravings...you have to figure your need for protein...mine is about 125 grams protein a day for my wt. & height. So more to tally up. Supposed to burn more calories on this plan, and be able to eat some carbs w/o any problems. It's based on a book by David Heber, m.d.

~~1DAY~~ good to hear from you also. Are you still planning ahead w/your lunches for work to alleviate the wrong choices? How was your niece? and the other family members? Did your doggie get to go with you?

Finishing up w/housework today, and then perhaps i will still get my walk in.
Still no word on when this site will be down...

I'll keep you posted on my new diet plan!

Hello ladies,
Having to work day, it's not our holiday. The office is pretty quite, which is good, able to get lots of work done. Planning on going to my parents for Easter, I'm bringing the fruit salad. CAn't wait to get into my bag of candy. I had given up for lent. Yes, I know someone had said to donate or give away, but I just can't give my malted eggs away. I'm only allowing myself to have that day.

Thin - The easter picnic was fun. My niece is only 2 so had lots of fun with her. Even the Easter Bunny showed up. I am definitely bringing my lunches and snacks to work. I have a small referator in my office and it works out great. Of couse my biggest problem right now is peanut butter. I'm eating the lowfat one, but once I get going on that I just want more. A friend told me there is a low carb one. I guess I should check into that, but i'm sure it won't be a tasty as the lowfat one.

Hope everyone is having a great day

Hello everyone!

Today is not only Easter, but marks one month since our family lost my niece. I feel better now, but it is random. Listening to the news to any types of reports of violence absolutely shakes me to the core.

I just took a look at a picture CD of my Mother's funeral, my oldest brother gave me while I was home for my nieces funeral. I GOTTA lose some serious weight.

Thank each of you for your kind words, and I promise to re-join our team efforts to see less of each other - soon(er).

I hope everyone had a very nice Easter holiday. Mooz, I am with you... too much chocolate.

Hello ladies,
The weather has turned cold here. This morning there was even light snow about 50 miles away from here. We weren't able to have a easter hunt outside, to be had one inside. I ate way to much food. I really enjoyed eating my easter eggs. Tomorrow i'm taking the bag I have left and giving to someone.

Hal - Your right there is so much violence everywhere. It just turns my stomach when I hear it on the news. How are you niece's kids doing? I know it must be so hard for them. I too cringe when I look at pictures of myself.

Mooz - I ate way to much too. Did all the kids come home for the holidays?

Mornin chickies ............. I really need to get more in control and shift this weight. I have put on some over Easter and my weight is 167 this morning
This can't go on.......... the weather is getting warmer and I cannot hide behind my winter clothes on a warm day! I need to lose weight so that I feel good about myself. I was thinking of going back to WW but that is 1 week away ........... I need to start today. I will report back here every day and make use of this thread to try and help me do this ....... are you all with me in trying to get fitter and healthier?

Paul went to Copenhagen on Saturday, with one of his friends, to stay for the Easter period. He will be home again tomorrow. They were talking of going into Sweden when they were there.

Sinead came home from Belfast just for about 24 hours as she is working most of the time.

Orla just came back from a 4 day trip to London. Her boyfriend treated her with this for her birthday. They stayed with his sister while they were there.

Mum is getting more and more frail and I use the baby alarm every night to listen for her getting up through the night.

DH is working away and at the moment he is also helping his father look after the sheep as this is the lambing period. Thank goodness the weather is good for them. It is lovely to see the little lambs jumping and skipping in the sunshine.

Patty - I think we are all the same as far as eating too much goes! Lets get healthy from today on!

Halgal - I too hate violence and cannot watch it even in a movie when I know it is only acting!! When you think about your neice just remember that she cannot be hurt anymore.

Thin - how did the new recipie go ........ I love dates and probably would eat too many of them if I bought them though!

Nita - how are you feeling now? HAve you stayed away from the vitimins etc?
Are you still for going back to WW?

Michelle - I would love to hear how your challenge is going.

Have a great Easter Monday all.

Go one better

What's a great way to get beyond a bad experience? Create a good experience of equal or greater significance.
When something bad happens to you, it can continue to take its toll even long after the original damage is done. In the absence of anything else to focus on, you're likely to continue to dwell on it and allow it to put a negative spin on everything in your life.

And what happens when you try not to think about it? The very effort involved in trying not to think about the bad experience will probably make you think about it even more.

There is, however, a very effective way out. And that is to create a new experience so overwhelmingly positive and memorable that it takes over the primary focus of your thoughts.

Put your imagination and creativity to work. Think of how you can be especially good to yourself, to those around you, and to the world in which you live.

Respond quickly to the negative experiences by creating even greater positive experiences. It's a habit that will add extraordinary richness and serenity to life.
