Mornin chickies ….. in a rush this morning …….. getting a new suite of furniture today so looking forward to that …… will post later.

Choose a response

Life will knock you around if you let it. But you don't have to let it.
You can't always control what's coming toward you. You can, however, decide what to do about it.
You can decide how to respond. And the way you respond can make all the difference in the world.
There is a positive, forward-looking way to respond to whatever may come your way. Though the circumstances may not be ideal, your response can be just right.
Rather than allowing yourself to be overwhelmed by life's surprises, decide that you will take each one and find the value in it. Instead of impulsively reacting out of habit, resolve to act with positive purpose.
Choose a response that is based not only on the situation, but also on who you are and where you intend to go. By doing so, you can stay in control no matter what may happen.

Hello ladies,

Cat - Oh, I like to see The Aviator too. Heard it was a long movie.

Mooz - i'm sure your busy with getting your new furniture. Are you getting living room or bedroom?

Really looking forward to the weekend. It's been raining here for the last two days and it's cold. Plans are to go to Ww and weigh in on saturday morning and then clean house. Dog needs a bath but don't know if i'm wanting to mess with that with all the mud outside.

Hope everyone is having a great day!

Mornin' Chicks~~ off to work again....long long day. I had forgotten how tough it is to get up at 5 a.m.! More like reality for some of you hard workin' chicks. It is cold in the mornings again. Need the heat on. It is just 40 degrees it looks like.

One nice thing is DMIL is having us over for supper, and this other couple from the U.P. that we haven't seen since last year in Michigan. She is so sweet this lady, she is also super tough! She has been fighting off her cancer for like 20 years. It moves around to diff. parts of her body. But what a woman she is. I can't wait to see her and her husband too. They have some family here and in the u.p.

~~1DAY~~sounds wet there alright. Might just be best to wait for it to dry up some b4 washing your doggie!
Aviator does look good, but havent' seen that yet. Ray is now at the super-saver cinema...so we will try to go see that next.

~~CAT~~Glad to hear you show no signs of this CCL. So many types of luekemia out there it is mind boggling. I guess my grandmother had a type of luekemia, and my aunt had the 'regular' kind but beat it, and now my sister has another type. Oh, and my grandmothers last son born had it, and died when he was like 3 or 4.

The trip sounds exciting! Glad you have some funds to go and help your friend do this.

~~All for now chicksters~~ I am going to stay on-plan for my first 2 meals, so even tho DMIL has kind of a bad supper planned for us, i can still eat some of it. Pork pie, and it is heavy! and in a nice flaky crust! yikes. Well, my next weigh in is tomorrow, so i'd best work it off.

Default RE: Sending all good thoughts...!!!

Hey Movers and Losers!

Thanks for all of the kind words and support! I regained 3 of the 8 pounds I lost at weight in last Monday. No surprise. I did not exercise, drink water as I should and went off course 2 days. That is a-l-l it takes! I am back on track and feel like weigh in this Monday will be a good one. Yes, I am ready to see less of me.

I have a slight cold (minor sore throat, blocked ears and occasional sniffles). The good thing is it is Saturday, and just possibly I may beat it before it turns into anything too big.

If any of you are Martina McBride fans, she has an awesome CD out sold at local Halmark stores through the end of February. It is a set of classic love songs for Valentines. I love her voice and her dedicated spirit to family.

GREAT to hear from everyone. I'll do my best to post individually this weekend.

Hi ladies --

Just a quick check in for me. I've been doing good with eating and with exercise -- I've gotten to the gym every day this week (either for the personal training sessions or at least to do cardio). Today, was a training session. We did circuit training -- 2 minutes non-stop on the weight machines, then switch to the next one. We worked chest, back, biceps, triceps, legs, calves and abs. Gosh, those two minutes per machine seemed to go on forever!

We also took measurements today (we weigh in on Monday night). I didn't have good results on the scale last week, but I was pleased with my measurement results today. I am losing inches! Yay! All this hard work and healthy eating is paying off.

It may sound weird....since my trainer is such a "drill sergeant" and really, really, really works/abuses us....but I am going to miss this once it is over in mid-March. It's very fun and motivating to workout with a trainer -- doing cardio and strength training -- and to be a part of a team.

Mooz -- Congrats on your new furniture. I'd love to see pictures of it, if you get a chance.

Cat -- That's good that your doc was able to catch your CCL in the early stages and that you're showing no signs. You must be so excited to be going to Mexico to help your friend. Good for you!

1Day -- I haven't seen Aviator yet or Million Dollar Baby. I do want to go see Meet the Fockers. That looks like it's hysterical.

Thin -- Between working and working out and your social life, sounds like you're very busy and enjoying your life in sunny AZ. And even if you indulge a little at dinner...I know with all the walking, you'll be able to work it off.

HalGal -- Good for you for getting right back on track.

Well, I'd better sign off. Sorry for such a quick post, but I've got lots to get done today, and my muscles aren't letting me move very fast.

But I've got to say that despite all the soreness, which I haven't figured out if it's good soreness or bad soreness, it's been the best incentive for me to not go off program with my eating. The soreness and pain is a reminder of how hard I'm working to make healthier choices.

Here's to a great weekend for all of us!

Good Evening Ladies,

I cannot believe my vacation is over! It really went very fast. The only person I didn't get to see was my brother because the last day in Ohio they had a threat of the Turnpike workers going on strike and so I had to head back to PA that same day. My sister and I were snowed in on Friday and we really had a very enjoyable day. We were both crocheting and chatting about old times. We even took a nap. I was really very lucky because all the time I had the rental car I didn't have any close calls even though some of the roads were very snowy and icy.

I most definitely did not do well on my dieting while away. I tried to eat small portions but that didn't always work. Actually since I have been home--I have been quite frustrated because all of a sudden things are piling up. My DH is having his cancer surgery on his nose and ear this coming Monday and needless to say he is quite nervous. I also need to get my tax info in order because the accountant has already called to set up an appointment. At first I couldn't find our thread so I was so happy to find you all again.

It sounds like most of you are doing quite well. Just reading all the posts has given me some incentive to get back on track. I definitely know what I have to do--now all I have to do is DO IT!!!!!

I promise I will keep in contact and I firmly believe writing these posts to each other is very important!!

Michelle--WTG on the inches loss. You know you're getting healthier even tho it doesn't show on the scale.

Nita--will pray for DH. Glad you got the vacation before you got hit by the stress.

Hal--good for you for getting back on track. Hope the cold doesn't amount to anything.

Thin --just remember, even if you don't do perfectly, you can make some improvement.

I have been doing well on exercise and yoga, not so well on eating. Up a pound at the oncologist's. I think his scale is more accurate (it's digital), but I'm not sure how it compares. How can I get myself motivated again? There seem so many more interesting things, like my trip . . .

Hi Ladies,

Just a quick message to let you know I am thinking positive today. I went bowling and then I worked in the yard getting rid of weeds. I am going to make chili for dinner because it is one of those things you can eat without going off the CORE program. I am planning to weigh in at WW this Thursday. I will probably be up another 5 lbs., making it 10 lbs. from my goal weight. However, this just may be the weigh-in that gets me back on track. I still qualify as a Lifetime Member so I will only have to pay the $12.

I need to share one of the most "special" moments on my vacation. The day before I left, everyone had gone to bed and the lights were out. I happened to be the last one up and I was doing my thing in the bathroom. When I came out, much to my surprise there stood Benjamin (he will be 4 the end of April) and he asked if I would put him in bed. At that moment my trip was all worthwhile! I, of course, said "Yes." After I tucked him in he gave me the biggest kiss a Grandmother could ever receive. This is the same little boy who my daughter says is a terror! In my eyes he is just being a "little" boy! Don't get me wrong I did enjoy the rest of my family and because of the bad weather we spent a lot of time together!

Well now I know what I have to do--that is, get back on the treadmill and start walking at least 4 to 5 times a week.

I'll let you know how the surgery goes!

Take care Ladies and keep up your "excellent" work!

Mornin chickies ..... just a qiuick call. I have got a touch of toothache these past few days. ....... not pleasant company amd it is worse when I eat!
I may have to go visit the dentist
I may have mentioned that we have got a sunroom built on to the front of our house (making this room bigger really) ...... it was in the Christmas card I sent.
The furniture was for it and for this room and the living room. So we bought a 3 seater settee, a 2 seater settee and 3 chairs in dark brown leather. The 3 seater has recliners at both ends. The 2 seater is not reclining but the 3 chaire are reclining swivel chairs....... so comfortable. We have not got it all yet ....... the third chair is arriving today and the 2 seater will not be here for about 10 weeks. There is no rush anyway as we have not got the KArndean flooring put down yet as the new floor in the sunroom has to be down for at least 3 months to be dried out properly. I will tak some pics for you to see later.

Nita - that is such a sweet story about your grandson. I don't have any grandchildren but my nephews son, who is 4, comes to our house sometimes and they are so funny at that age. Glad you had a good vacation.

Michelle - sounds like that body of yours is getting into shape very fast ...... great stuff!!

Catlover - I can certainly understand about getting the exercise right but not the food. Unfortunately it needs both to make a difference!

Halgal - I hope you are feeling better and Good Luck with the weighin!

Thin - it is impossible to eat healthy all the time and when invited out we have to eat whatever food our host provide so eat slowly and enjoy it. No need to feel guilty. You will soon make up for it by getting back on track.

Patty - I hope you had a good weighin on Sat and that you had a good weekend.

Gotta go now.

Have a great Monday all.

Hi everyone --

Nita -- I'm saying a prayer for your DH's surgery today. Such an adorable story about your grandson.

Mooz -- How exciting to be getting new furniture and new flooring!! So sorry to hear you have a toothache. I hope you feel better soon.

I weigh in tonight for weigh in, I'm really hoping I do well -- I did have good results with the measurements on Saturday. But I just don't know what to expect as I just started that TOM. My eating has been really good, and I went to the gym to work out every day except for yesterday. I'm still very sore from Saturday's cross training. Ouch!

Here's to the start of a great week for all of us!

Hello Ladies,

Nita - Saying a prayer for your husband's surgery. I too need to get on my treadill. I plan on getting on it tonight. Goal is 2 miles. That was such a sweet story about your grandson.

Mooz - Hope your tooth is feeling better. Going to the dentist is the one place I just dread going. I don't know why i'm so afraid.

Mitchellez - Good luck with your weigh-in today. You have been doing so well with your exercise I just know you soon see results on the scale. How is your husband doing?

Cat - the good news is your doing well on your exercise and yoga. Just keep that up and soon the eating will follow.

Hal - Hope you get over your cold soon. There seems to be alot of upper respitory illness going on here at work. Let us know how your weigh in went.

Thin - Hope everything went well at the new job. Is this a outdoor flea market?

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for your prayers and concern re my DH's surgery. Evidently the plastic surgeon had to do another skin graft on his ear this time. His nose has a whole lot of stitches so he looks like someone beat him up. It's too bad these doctors don't have time to let you know what the prognosis is and even his office had no idea. All I know is we have to go back on Friday to have the ear thing taken off.

We got up at 4:10 this morning and got back home at 11:30. He is resting now so I think I may do the same. I chatted with a gentleman whose wife was having a colonoscopy and he convinced me to get back on track and just do it!!!! He, however, gave me to option of starting tomorrow. I may just do that. I was going to work on the taxes today but I am just too exhausted so like I said I am going to take a nap as well.

Thanks again ladies, you are the very best!!!!

Mornin chickies. I still have the toothache but not all the time I think I may have to make an appointment with the dentist because it will not go away on it's own
I have put my name down for Shad's challenge. Don't know a lot about it but I think that each week we pick 2 challenges and get points for carrying them out. I didn't know it was only 2 at the start and I said I would drink 2 litres of water every day, only have 1 cup of coffee with a biscuit and do my weights and tummy crunches 3 time a week. Shad combined them to make it 2 challenges. Anyway I did not even have one cup of coffee or a biscuit yesterday. Mind you I did eat a lot of bread which was probably worse than 1 biscuit!! On the upside I did over 21000 steps but I have not done any weights etc., yet!

Nita - when you say your DH's face looked like he had been beaten up it just reminded me of how my DH looked when he had his operation a few years ago for skin cancer. He looked just like that too. They will both have to be careful and get any changes to their skin checked out early. Sending him and you an

Patty - so did you meet your goal?

Michelle - waiting to hear if you had a loss but you may not as you will now be building muscle and that weighs more than fat. The measurements are actually a more accurate way of know how well you are doing.

Halgal, Thin and Catlover ..... hoping to hear from you all soon.

Hello Ladies,

Nita - glad to hear everything went well. Glad the gentleman you were talking too convinced you to get back on track. You know I keep thinking I need to do this now while i'm in my 40's. People always said oh, once you hit 40 it's so hard to lose weight and I never believed them. WE'LL I do now. I"m 43 and it's so hard. Let's get back on track together. I am going to get on the treadmill tonight.

Mooz - Glad you got a appointment with your dentist. WTG on getting over 21,000 steps in. That is great.

The weather here is dreary, it's cold and has been raining. I know I just need a jump start on getting me motivated. Maybe I need to go look in the mirror naked, you think that would get motivated.

Hope everyone is having a great day!
