Lots to read I see! LOVE the info about the Wii!!! Hubby and I decided that instead of buying something for each of us plus the kids, we are going to get a Wii and the accessories. (Santa will still show up with a present or 2 but the grandparents usually make up for the rest) So that's great to know about what we should get. I'm excited for Christmas!!

Have been mia due to sick kids and I've been battling the bug as well. Not really sick per say, but just brutally tired and feeling "blah". Had an awful day yesterday...ate Kraft Dinner, girl guide cookies, peanut butter sandwich and other junk. Calorie-wise I did ok (1548) but nutrition-wise...total garbage. Had a good meal just now (at 3:30am! lol) and feeling better.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!!

What a difference 12 hours or so makes. We went from unbearably muggy to a nice cool breeze today. I had the AC on yesterday cause there was just no opening any windows. It was just yucky. Today I love it. I am almost chilly but I got all the windows open and the breeze is just a blowing through.

Today just staying home for the day I think. I re-arranged my living room for the Fall and also doing the usual laundry and such. Nothing major by any means.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend so far!

I woke up this morning, went to the washroom and then got on my scale and was a little disappointed with myself I don't know what went wrong exactly since I have been really careful this week (with the exception of last Saturday and Sunday when I ate Indian food) and been working out a lot. I had TOM up until Thursday so I'm wondering if that could have had anything to do with it. Ok so it's not as bad as I am making it sound since I did lose 1lb and that is pretty good of course! but I guess I just had higher expectations considering the added activity in my days.

The problem for me is I hate planning. I'm not good with that at all, that's one of the reasons I always fall off track again, so I am thinking of trying nutrisystem. I've tried it in the past and it worked but I wasn't as motivated as I am now so I quickly let go of it. I was hoping to try Medifast but they apparently don't ship to Canada?!?

CMO2-I think I read that when you are working out a lot at first you retain a bit of water. Maybe that's what's happening.

My water weight continues to come off and I'm feeling much better in many areas. Not so emotional, DH and i are talking better since yesterday. I just get to be such a wreck sometimes.

I've just been cleaning and will try a workout later.

Snowbound- I'm with you on the water weight! I've been so aware of the amount of water weight I have. I'm a real salty eater. If potato chips were good for you, I'd be on the runway right now... I'd be a fitness guru. But here I am. I mean, I'm happy but I just really love salty snacks.
But I have a NSV I'd like to share: My husband and I are chip snackers on weekends. I told him last week I was off of them. So last night we got ready to watch a movie and he had a giant bag of chips. I opted for a snack that wasn't that really that healthy but at least it wasn't chips. I will literally gorge myself on the chips. I wilk eat them until I feel nauseous but not last night. So there it is. I am proud of one night of not eating until I am sick. Anyways I'm in a better frame of mind today so its a victory in my mind.
Saskie is lovely today but windy. Why do I always love to give a weather report on this thread? I think because I love reading them. Hot damn what a big and gorrrrgeous country we live in!

Donna- Thank you so much for sharing that with me, you have made me feel 10 times better that I felt this morning!
I just looked that up and realized I am not eating enough and yes exercising to much too fast can make you retain water. So now I need to take a new approach; I don't want to slow down my exercising because I've come to the point where its easy for me to do as much as I am doing, but I will try to take in more calories on a daily basis to compensate for some of the calories I burn.

I am glad you are feeling better today!

greeneggsandtam- I am also a salt lover, I LOVE chips so much, I can eat the whole bag in one shot. Sometimes I actually have withdrawals because I haven't had any (not one bite) in 6 weeks! Oh how I miss my chips lol

I just want to congratulate you on passing them up last night, really that is awesome! I know how hard it is to give those up.

HI LADIES ~ you are all doing a lot of exercising I see. I don't have a WII; but I made notes on your comments becuz the WII sounds like so much fun; maybe something to look forward to down the road (to work towards and to save up for too as I have heard that they cost quite a bit).

For now, I am doing my own thing with walking (like today) and I have hand weights (dumbells), stretchie bands, and my toning exercises which is enuff for me right now. I also have about 3 of Leslie Sansone's WOTP dvds, plus some more dvds on lite yoga, spanish dancing of some kind, belly dancing, and other stuff too. Haven't tried them all out, but maybe this winter I'll try some more. DH is using my TV to watch movies & shows, so maybe I'll buy myself a new one for Christmas, we'll see ...

CMO2 ~ I think that taking some breaks is a good idea; you could do some spread over the day (morning, afternoon, and evening). Sounds like you have reached a sweet spot where you feel good from your workouts, but you don't want to strain or injure yourself. It is recommended to increase on a gradual basis to prevent injury. Maybe mixing things up a bit would help too ...

DONNA ~ TOM can reek havoc on our emotions and our water-weight; but it does come off eventually. I am also trying to watch my salt intake and after awhile, you actually get used to using less salt. The biggest problem then comes from anything that is processed. Glad you are feeling better in body and spirit ...

Guess who had some of the ***white stuff*** fall today? I think this is the earliest I can ever recall but it was very light and melted as soon as it touched ground. We went up town shopping today and the weather has been so varied just in one day; we had ***, , , , and now the sun is going down behind a big fur tree and it feels chilly in here again.

We had a pair of WHISKEY-JACKS (or gray-jays) here all week and today they were stocking up on food for the winter. They kept coming back and filling their beaks/gullets and carting the food to different places. They had a run-in with some blackbirds (grackles) the other day, but I think they have finally left for the south as we haven't seen them here since. We put out a bit extra food for them for their long trip.

I am reheating some leftover BBQ spit chicken with some veggies & new potatoes in the oven right now. WE are eating later as we got home late from shopping so lunch was late, but I did make a pot of roasted veggie soup with barley & lentils for lunch. That was so nice an a cold day like today. I think we are all set for winter; DH and I stocked up on socks and such. I also picked up some things I was missing in my pantry as I like to stock up for the winter at this time of year.

Oh, I got interrupted while composing this post; and had to go check dinner and such. It was ready, so served it, ate it, did dishes, and thought I'd better push the reply button before I lost it. Hope you all are having a great weekend ... ttyl, Rosebud

Hello Everyone. I haven't been here for a while and had a LOT of reading to do. I've been fighting a pretty bad chest infection for the past 2 weeks but feel this too is beginning to pass.

Hey you Northern Ontario girls, I moved to MB from Timmins. Although the prairies certainly have their beauty, I sure do miss the natural beauty that Ontario has to offer.

JoJo: the protein shakes I drink in the morning are called ISOfemme. I buy them at SuperStore. They also make protein bars that give me what I need if I'm jonesin' for a chocolate bar. I just make sure to limit those bars to only 2-3 per week.

I love reading all those encouraging posts about the Nintendo Wii. My kids are buying me a system for Xmas & I can't wait. I look forward to trying the game 'Just Dance'. I'm hoping that will motivate me to get active. I just know the weight will come off quicker with exercise. I shouldn't complain too much though. I've steadily lost - 13lbs & 2 jean sizes so far - since my Sept 1 start date.

What a gorgeous day! I'm all stuck inside reading articles that I haven't gotten through this week. Booo! Hissss! Anyways I just wanted to check in before i get started, you know. to keep me honest.
Hello Joplin! An imported prairie dweller! Nice! I love Manitoba.
I'm getting curious about this WII thing but we don't have kids, and my appreciation wanes for working out without a group. I give up easily on my own.
CMO2 - Now I'm intrigued about this not getting enough calories for the amount of exercise you're doing. This whole weight loss thing is such a different path for everyone. It's abit like a puzzle.
I am taking a break today from working out. And we're going to a fall supper. So bring on the gravy. I'll turn it down. I can do it!
I have a love hate relationship with the fall supper. Who doesn't like not cooking?lol. But it's such a small hall and you're elbow to elbow with strangers. gah. No one likes a complainer. I'll go and eat my turkey and shut up about it.
Okay. Off to read. Everyone have a great day!
Tam

I check out and workout The Biggest Loser on Wii today.

It's starts off like the other, taking your measurements and getting info. You can use a balance board or not, pick who your trainer is but Bob does most of the talking even when you pick Jillian.

The routines are circuit which I love. I did a Light Beginner full body and it got me feeling pretty warm and sweating a little bit and breathing hard, so I can see this getting easier but if I do the harder workouts. You can do a few different options, keep track of all activity and food, do full routines or single exercises and yoga. I like it a lot and will do again, this might be morning daily exercise from now on.

CMof2, thanks for the rundown on the Wiifit. I have done the bowling and the boxing before and really liked it. I'll look into getting one eventually. I was pricing them yesterday and I see they are definitely not cheap, but worth it I'd imagine. I hope to join the gym in a few weeks. I'm sure you'll see more results next week if you keep it up!

Joplin, Congrats on the weight loss and dropping two pant sizes. That is so awesome! Hope you feel better soon! I'll have to check into those shakes.

greeneggsandtam, I hope you make some good choices at the fall dinner!

Rosebud, I can't believe you got snow!! Wow! It has been cool here lately, and it is time to get my winter jacket out. Brrr, this weather is killing me. Although, I went for an hour walk this evening because it was very cool and crisp. Perfect fall weather.

--
I've had an alright week, but I ate a lot today and yesterday. I have my weigh in tomorrow and I'll be happy to see the scale move down even 1 pound. I haven't exercised as much this week because I've been so busy. I now have a full-time and a part-time job, so I have to be extra good at planning my meals and time, which is a challenge for me. I am so happy I have a ticker now! Wooo!

I wish everyone a great week!

Good morning ladies!

Hope everyone had a great weekend.Well I had a good weekend but crashed and burned a bit last night had about 5 chips with dip and 2 peanut butter cookies(it was so good though)I have been really good at sticking with my diet.It amazes me how food has changed and I look forward to it and not hating the taste, like real oatmeal(not instant).Went for my walk this am -3 little cool but still went about to do my shred.I am down to 201 almost to wonderland should be there in the next few days.My body I can see and hubby to can see has changed Ordered a digital scale should be here Wednesday so I can have the exact I am losing everyday.I am averaging about 2 lbs every 4 day so I should loose about 15 lbs in a month God I hope it stays like this.
