  • Wow Cindie, that is great!!! Congrats to you!
  • Hi everyone. I'm in Victoria.

    congrats on the wedding.

how are you all planning on handling thanksgiving?
  • Welcome cherrypie I don't really have any plans for thanksgiving. We usually go over to my mothers for Lunch but she's having work done in her house and they are working through the holiday so we aren't going there this year. I think I am just going to make a nice healthy lunch (not sure what yet) and we will spend thanksgiving at home. What are your plans?
    --------
I am feeling really happy today . I weighed myself this morning just out of curiosity to see how my new plan is going and I have lost 4 lbs since Monday!!I'm not expecting anymore than that for this week since I know weight can fluctuate by day and I still have until Monday morning for my actual weigh in, but I am ecstatic!!

Hope everyone is having an awesome day as well!!
  • that is awsome.

I'm having the family over for the usual turkey dinner.
  • Cindie well done on reaching onederland!! You must really be feeling some momentum! So happy for you!

Plans for thanksgiving are still up in the air. My fam is congregating for burgers and salad on Monday but we're not too sure about the DH side of the story.

Made it to the Y today and because of some (read:tonnes of) lunges and squats, I can safely say that stairs are out of the question for the rest of today. Our houseguests are leaving today and in their wake lies two bags of nachos and one bag of cheezies. Maybe I just won't go home. lol. Okay so that's not an option. Perhaps I can shove them in a cupboard so I can't seem them. Hm. Clearly I'm going to have to come up with a strategy for this.
Anyhoo, I hope everyone is having a lovely Friday!
    Tam!
  • CHERRYPIE ~ we have other ladies here from BC too. We haven't decided what to have for Thanksgiving yet; probably just stay home as per usual. Years ago, when my mother was alive and living here, we used to go there, but now we just do our own thing. I did pick up two really nice (and lean) prime rib roasts, I am thinking of making one of them instead of the traditional turkey.

CINDIE ~ that is a huge milestone ...

CMO2 ~ WOW -- 4 lbs; that is a lot in just one week; changing up your exercising schedule seems to be working for ya ...

TAM ~ if you can't get your family to hide the junkies, then my option is to crush them in the bag ... yes, that's what I do, I bash 'em up until they are all crumbs and use them on casseroles or on top of fish or feed them to the birds ... DH also has a very high cubby in our bedroom that he puts his junkies in; I can't reach it and won't risk getting up on the ladder to search for them either. Do whatever works best for you.

We had another lovely day today; it last night but cleared up and was awesome all day. I read some, and just did stuff around home today. Hope you all have a fab Friday evening ... Rosebud
  • Hi everyone!

I have been off for a bit but I am back!

Cindie..Way to go onederland is great...It's been awhile since I was there. LOL.

Christine..4 lbs...way to goYou inspire me.

tam...keep up your exercising...I need to be as motivated as you.

    Stella????? where are you???

Everyday I weigh myself and I am constantly up 2, down 2, up 2, down 2, I am sure you get the picture
  • Well my two nights away were so great! I had chinese and my weight is actually down 2lbs, after breakfast and with clothes on. So I skipped my Friday weigh-in this week and I'll do my weigh-in next week.
We had a lot of fun and got a bit of shopping in and went to a movie. So it's all good. I missed my H and the boys and it snowed the morning we woke up to come home, so the drive was a bit sketchy at first but then the road got better.
  • Hi Everyone! Hope your all having a great weekend!

We had my brother in law and his girlfriend over last night for dinner and the plan was to order out but that we'd order from somewhere that I could order a salad or something. That fell through because everyone else wanted to order Dominoes pizza and they don't have salads. Despite all the pushing I got to have a slice of pizza, I stuck to my guns and didn't give in! YAY!! I ended up making my self a fresh spinach salad with some leftover baked chicken in it. It was really good. I got on the scale this morning and was another pound down so that's a total of 5 lbs down this week!
And, I finally got my ticker!

Donna- Welcome back, congrats on your 2lbs! Glad you had a nice time!

Tam- lunges and squats!... I feel the pain!

JJ- I'm sure you'll get back on track in no time!

Rosebud- yes changing up my routine as well as the time of day I exercise each day seems to have taken an effect on my weight loss this week I even took it a step further with the running and went for 30minutes yesterday instead of 20 and I made it!
  • Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Canucks! Managed to eat smartly today and don't feel gross and icky! I am also on Day 13 of no diet pop and feel pretty amazing. It's amazing what aspartame does to your system!
  • Happy turkey week to everyone! I say week cause it seems to take that long to eat the stuff up after turkey day! My turkey day is today. I wasn't going to cook a meal but decided at the last minute to cook the one I had n the freezer. So I am going to be putting it in the oven here shortly.

Its been a nice weekend on the East, a bit chilly but not bad.

Weigh in for me is wednesday - hoping to stay the same this week with everything that was going on. At least no gain. But if I do it will only be a little and I can work to get that off.

Hope everyone is having a nice holiday weekend..

    Alannah
  • Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!!

We had the traditional dinner last night at my parents and I didn't overeat for a change. Just took a little bit of everything.

Today I make ham and scalloped potatoes for my family and H's sister is coming. I'll not overeat today as well.

House cleaning is to be done today as well. Hope everyone has a great day.

CMO2- great resolve on the pizza. Way to go!

Allannah - Have a great day!!

eriluo- great going on the pop! I was on the right track with that but after this road trip I have to restart.
  • Happy Thanksgiving to Everyone. For the first year my 17 yr old son is cooking the dinner. Its a tradition in the Bowles family that the men cook the holiday meals and my son chose this meal to start his part of the tradition. I will let you all know how it turns out.
  • HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

I cooked up our meal yesterday and have the leftovers in the oven right now; I made chicken & riblets with baked new potatoes, and roasted veggies: baby carrots, knib corn, cauliflower & broccoli. Just popped it all in the stove and let the oven do all the work ...

Sounds like everyone is doing great here; releasing some poundage and getting much healthier too! Keep up the good work ladies. CANADIANS ROCK!!!

Gee, those turkeys up there look like they are on something ...

  • I hope everyone had an excellent Thanskgiving day!

Those turkeys do look like they are on something good!

It sound like everyone is doing great. Congats and way to go, Canadian gals!

I feel like I overate the last few days, but I did say 'no' to chocolate cake yesterday at my thanksgiving meal. I had two bites of the cake and a sliver of ice cream. I'm supposed to have my weigh in today, but since it is a holiday, I'll get weighed in tomorrow instead. I'm sort of afraid to get on the scale, but vow to join the gym this week. I've had one day off in the last two weeks, so I have to make the time.

Here's to another week everyone! Let's make it a great one!
