  • Jojo- I hope you feel better.

Cindie- I hope your sore muscles don't last too long. I remember doing the Shred last year and how sore I was after. I really want to get the one with weights. Good for you for getting your walk in.

Rose (that's what I'll call Justwant2bhealthy) - thanks for thinking of me for the dryer. Mine was still under warranty, so that is okay. I'm replacing my freezer as well, it was 5 days past warranty, so I'll only get a bit back on that.
I'm feeling somewhat better today. Still have a sore throat but my head is clear today.
  • Well I meet my hubby for lunch today usually we go have take out.Well I brought my soup with me (he always has a lunch)so no fast food.He also asked if I wanted to go out to dinner tonight and I said no.I am going to try and not have any take out for 2 weeks .I also went to the dollar store for some stuff picked up a chocolate bar twice ,but in the end didn't buy it.I am trying so hard.

    SnowboundChick~Glad your feeling better!
  • We had a whole lot of shaken' goin' on around here last night -- not what you think ... We were awaken by a huge thunderstorm with lots of thunder and lightening; our poor furry baby didn't like how the thunderboomies were shaking the place. We finally got up around 6 am (early for me), so I could unplug my PC to be on the safe side.

It has finally stopped ing but it is still damp and chilly here. The is actually trying to peak out right now, but not for long. It is supposed to be nicer for tomorrow. I thought it was a great day for homemade soup; made a pot of veggies & lentil/bean soup for lunch and have some for another day or two as well. This is so nice on days like this ...

SNOWBOUND ~ glad you are feeling better today; and yes, you can call me ROSE. I had actually wanted Rosebud for my moniker but it was taken already in about a dozen different ways; so out of frustration, I just typed in JUSTWANT2BHEALTHY, and they accepted it -- go figure ...

JOJO ~ hope you are feeling better soon too; thank goodness most colds only last a few days.

CINDIE ~ good for you resisting all that fast food; we don't eat out much, so it isn't that hard for me (got car repairs and other stuff to spend our extra $$$ on). My favorite thing to get is BBQ spit chicken; it's healthy and a fair price too.

Hope you all have a great week ... Rosebud
  • Hey again everyone My co-worker from Texas is here, she says she's enjoying our weather "It's nice to be cool for a change!". I hate her - kidding! My scale isn't moving very much but I'm just into week 2 of training for a 10k so hopefully that will change soon!

Rose - I'm jealous, my sunflowers finally bloomed after growing about 12 feet tall. I got to enjoy them for maybe 4 days, then we got our first frost and they all died. We also have an airborne tomato blight going around and all of the tomatoes in my garden were affected and not fit to eat. Lots of potatoes though... and carrots!

Cinm - Plants are nice but it's also a really good thing to keep kids and animals alive!!!

Jojo - Thanks for the welcome back, it's supposed to clear up here this week... I can't wait.

Snowbound - I feel for you, our washer quit not long ago and it was a serious PITA to get laundry done. It sucks that your freezer quit 5 days after warranty!

  • I'm back!!!

Wedding was amazing! Everything went great and it was so much fun! We went to Cuba for our honeymoon and had a blast! Swam with dolphins, snorkeled, swam everyday... it was paradise.

Gained a little bit of weight while I was away, but it was so worth it. Finding it a little hard to get back on track, but I just have to adjust my mindset.

To all new posters, hi and welcome! I'm from Southren, Ontario (Niagara region). Look forward to chatting with everyone!
  • Weigh in was tonight at TOPS and I was down 2lbs. I'll def take that. I wasn't perfect but I was better than I have been so at least I am moving in the right direction.

Cinm - what about making your own mini pizzas? I do it all the time and love them and they satisfy my pizza cravings. I use a pita bread, lightly brush with olive oil and then I put in the oven for a few minutes to crisp it up a bit. Add some pizza sauce or tomato sauce, light cheese, veggies and I'll do some turkey bacon now and then. delish! I really like portobellos on mine so I load mine with mushrooms. They are filling too. Just a thought for something different.

Today was rough at work. I work by myself Tues thru Thurs and today was just nuts. I work at a self storage facility so I got my walking in today just at work. I think I walked the site at least 5x today for one reason or another LOL.

Going to get myself a new pedometer this weekend. Not sure where I'll get it yet but I want one to wear at work and such so I can see just how much trekking I do on days like this and on average as well.

Hope you guys have a good evening! Be back later..

  • Hello my fellow Canucks!

I'm Janice & I live outside of Winnipeg. It was foggy this morning and then rainy thereafter. Tonight is the Autumnal Equinox, at 10:09 precisely. This the official start of autumn in the northern hemisphere.

I'm very happy to have found you all as I've been stumbling around 3FC for about 3 weeks now trying to figure out where I belong. I gave up carbs (except veggies) 20 days ago and have so far lost 11 pounds. I figured that giving up bread would kill me (bread was my lover ), but I'm finding that the protein has kept me full and satisfied.

Have a good night everyone, sleep well.

  • Cindie: Hang tight! Find another food choice to substitute your craving! I know what you are going through. I had a craving for chocolate or chips last night, but I ate an English muffin with PB instead. I noticed this evening in the grocery store that you can get the weight watchers smart choice frozen dinner (pizza). I don't know how they taste, but you can always try it if you crave pizza. Best of luck, hun!

Stella: Welcome back! Cuba sounds so fantastic! I hear the beaches are gorgeous! Congrats on your wedding too!

Alannah: That is great that you got your exercise in at work! I wish I could say the same thing. I haven't done anything in two days. I hope to get out for an hour walk tomorrow! Hopefully it isn't raining! The weather has been so crappy!

Welcome Janice! Fall is here! I was noticing all the leaves really starting to change today. Congrats on the big weight loss! What have you been eating if you are cutting out carbs! I bow to you for cutting out the bread!

Today I felt much better and went back to work! Thanks ladies! I ended up gong over my points by six point yesterday, but thankfully the flex points are there. I think it was because I didn't barely move because I was sick. I didn't do any exercise in the last few days, but really want to get moving the rest of the week!

Have a wonderful week, Ladies! We can do this!
  • Hi Janice and Stella!!!

I hope you find something healthy that works Cindie.

I was fine yesterday but in the evening I started getting light headed/dizzy, it continue today, not sure why. I saw my nurse today and we checked my blood sugar it was fine and my blood pressure which was 112/60, which she said was super healthy. So yay!

But continue to be feeling not great! I think it's a head cold, ear infection and maybe sinus. I find that my sinuses have been acting up since last year and cold seems to really affect them and it may be that. It's getting chilly here now the last couple of days. I was out at the park yesterday with the kids and it was windy and that night started feeling dizzy after feeling fine all day.

My new goals are to get a gym membership and go on the Wed and Friday that I'm free at lunch.

Hope everyone is having a good night!!
  • Just wanted to say how proud I am of all of you for doing the best you can at your plans. I finished work this week Tuesday morning but can't seem to get my schedule right around. I normally have no problem after my night shifts to re-aclimate my sleeping patterns but this week seems different. Its 4 am and I am wide awake after cat-napping most of the day. I am off until Saturday which begins a 4 night week for me. Work has been really slow but that is normal after the schools reopen. I am not getting in any exercise either but I have caught up on all my shows and downloaded a ton of music. Food choices haven't been that good either.

The Farmers Almanac says the Best Days to Start a Diet to Lose Weight is Sept 24, 25, 26. I think I will try and spend the rest of today and tonight getting my days and nights in order and then Start fresh again on the 24. Maybe with the planets lined up I will have the willpower.

Its been real nice here in Wardsville. We didn't get much of that storm that went through more Southern parts of Ontario. Today is suppose to be another warm day which is good b/c the International Tracker Pull has started and my DH and his brother will be there all day at a booth. I will be sleeping from the looks of things and that I am still up.

Take care all and Stay On Plan.

  • Sounds like everyone is doing awesome!!

Here is a low calorie idea for when you want something something but you aren't quite sure what that something something is. Take some frozen blueberries and add a serving of yogurt. Let them stand 5-10 minutes and what happens is the yogurt freezes around the blueberries so it is like ice cream. Gives your mouth something to play with (kwim)...I always had those when I was craving chocoalte covered almonds. Trust me...this snack will last through almost an entire episode of CSI. lol

Joplin...you should come on over to the primal thread over under carb counters. Sounds like you are doing pretty much the same!

Today is my day to clear out the basement...sort through the zillion toys and old clothes and pack it up and get rid of it! Have to do it when the girlies are in school, otherwise it will never leave this house. (oh but Mommy I LOVE this toy...that's my fav...I want to save this etc) They take after their father....

    Have a great day!!
  • Hi everyone!

Well I made it through yesterday probably miserable as **** with everyone but I made it with sticking to my diet Got a good surprise this am down another 2lbs 8 days 4 pounds So happy about that.Did my walk this am and also added jogging a little bit.So jog a bit walk jog walk I won't ever run as I have had bones taken out of both my ankles and If I did that I would break or sprain it in a second (I usually do this just walking a few times a year)No running for me.After I did that I did my 30day shred(haven't done it in 2 days as I was so sore) didn't feel as long as the first time I did it and wasn't as sore as last time after words so that's an improvement! At least I am on the right track!

MaddieD-LOL I know exactly what you mean my 2 girls are the same but my hubby is much worse. They don't even know its gone.

SnowboundChick-good pressure hope you feel better soon. How the no soda going?

    Jojo-Glad you are feeling better!

Janice-Welcome!I know about the bread thing I have been off of it for 8 days now in the start it was hard but much better now.

Stella-Welcome back!Where in Cuba did you go?I loved it also when I went 2 years ago.Mind you I done gain weight on vacation I loose as I am a picky eater lol..I should go of Cuba for 2 months I would be thin
  • I think I'm finally back on track... For dinner I had some very yummy chicken fajitas last night on whole grain tortilla wraps with shredded lettuce, sliced peppers, shredded part-skim mozz/chedder, salsa, low fat sour cream and grilled chicken breast. (So GOOD)

Cinm, We went to Varadero, Cuba. It was beautiful. Nice beaches, new resort. Last time I was in Cuba I went to Cayo Coco. I recommend both! I'm a picky eater too, I think I gained weight there because I was overindulging in the pina coladas!
  • Welcome back Stella!! Glad to hear that you wedding and honeymoon were great. I haver been a little quiet here lately since it seems the diet has gone out the window. I'm down the ten lbs that i lost at first but just can't seem to get into the groove again...I'll have to get motivated and moving!! It's nice to see so many new people here as well.
I've already read some great ideas for meals and snacks...hope I can get back at it!
