Default Good morning!

I was a good girl this morning..got up early and pushed myself out the door. I admit it, after walking so hard for the last month I sure would like to see the scales go down...but noooooo Up 3 pounds this morning. I think it was the lazagna but you know what..ya gotta eat sometimes. So I 'll just keep on keepin' on. The lazagana was OP by the way. And really really good this time.

You should see my floor...well in a few days..LOL I've started laying the tiles this morning. I'm sooooo excited. It's been bare for about 6 months since I couldn't stand the old torn linoleum and ripped it out.

Jack-K...I sure hope I don't burn out either. I think my biggest problem is with the scales. The walking is actually a blast most of the time. I find it hard to push as hard when I'm not seeing the results I would like. You are so smart to take something to dip in the salsa. I love chips and salsa. Hope your DD has a great year in college.

Good morning Beach..hope you have a better day today.

Deb...thanks so much for your encouragement. Lawana and I've talked about doing one of the 5 miles walks that March of dimes has or maybe the RA association. If they have one in the Woodlands it would be close enough. Good exercise and helping someone at the same time. I hope the time goes quickly for you this morning. Praying for you Grand Paw.

Go Toni...shake your bootie...1 day down! You can do it...you are doing it. Keep up the good work.

Jenn...I hope today is super duper fantastic to make up for yesterday. Glad the kids enjoyed their first day back. Mine are sitting here driving me nuts. I'm trying to remember why we home school...LOL Naw but they are being buggers.

Good to see ya this morning Ange.

Well the glue is set so I need to go lay a few more tiles.

Love and hugs,
Crystle

Good Morning to you all:

I just had a bowl of steel cut oatmeal with a little butter, agave syrup, cinnamon & flax seed meal. It was good. BUT, brings me to a question. Is there anything wrong with eating the rolled oats as long as they are not the instant kind? I'm talking about the ones that I use for oatmeal cookies and stuff that come in the round cardboard container??

As I said yesterday, I am staying close to home today; the gas crisis will probably be going on for at least a week. The line that ruptured is in terrible shape and has to go through testing to get it fixed. There are fights breaking out at gas stations and everything. It's bad enough in this heat, but there is no pressure in the pumps and it takes a long time. No one is limiting people to say 10 gallons or so, so people are filling up their vehicles & gas cans. I actually got stuck behind a Hummer yesterday and it took him a while to fill up that tank.

Anyway....you will probably see me back on here later on!

Quilter: Good luck with your weigh-in tonight. I would not like to weigh in at night. Are there any guys there, or can you weigh in the buff I used to get up and empty my bladder, strip down naked and then jump on the scale. I'm not that obsessed now. I just make sure I have an empty bladder and then weigh first thing in the morning before I even drink anything.

Fruit: Your baby steps will turn into big strides soon. I'm so glad to hear that you like teaching. I'm sure you wouldn't be doing it if you didn't. The money sure isn't incentive enough. I really wish teachers made more money; they are nearly as educated as a doctor. My daughter is starting Kindergarten this year

Monet: Sounds like you had a healthful eating day. I hope your co-worked turns out to be alright. Sorry to hear about your lab results. Good luck keeping those sugars out of your diet.

Gator: If you take the Carnitine, let me know how it works for you. What kind of doctor recommended it? Was it a nutritionist or family doctor? I order mine through iHerb. They have the L-Carnitine Tartrate 500mg - 100 capsules for $26 (retail $42.95), but the more you buy, the more you save. I always get free shipping too. Check it out if you would like - www.iherb.com/lcarni500.html

Country: Your walking is so inspiring to me. You have really been devoted, and what a partner to be teamed up with. What is your goal weight? How much do you have to lose to get there?

Angehaley: Hello. I read that magazine article when I was at the gym the other day (when on TM). It is interesting. I hope you are doing well.

Deb: So true what you said about your GF. My grandparents lived on a farm by themselves and did everything on their own, even took care of other people's horses and cattle for a little extra money. My GF was pouring concrete and painting his house up until the day he died of a sudden heart attack at age 92! My grandmother was 86, and was starting to suffer from Alzheimers. When my GF wasn't there to take care of her anymore, my uncle moved her into a group home, where she passed away 6 months later. They are together now, and where they both want to be. Way to stay OP, and gheez if you can eat the carbs and still lose, more power to ya. I'd love to have you here at the same weight with me. If you've done it before, you know how to do it again! I LOVE GARAGE SALES! I need to have one soon to get rid of a lot of this baby stuff that we are no longer using. It's so funny; when we have a garage sale, I'm usually taking the money we've made to check out the other garage sales in the area. If I find a picture that will work, I'll be asking for some help. I might have to ask my sister or mom for one, since I destroyed so many of mine.

jecrites: Hope today is a better day; what a way to spend your first day alone.

Toni48: Good job staying on plan. I think everyday is so much easier, and if you can get through a good week or two, you will be on your way.

Jack: Congrats on your DD's volleyball tournament win!! You must be so proud. Sounds like it was a loooong evening; she must have been tired. STAY OUT OF THOSE CHIPS!!!!!
You asked for it. Normally, I'd say, "if you can stop at just a few, then have a few." BUT, since you have your little pita snacks, you have no excuse now. If you can get past that part of the meal, the meal itself will be plenty to fill you up. I always order fajitas when I go to Mexican Restaurants, and am totally satisfied. Enjoy!

Have a great day!

Country: We were posting at the same time. I'd love your lasagne recipe, if you wouldn't mind. I have some lasagne noodles I'm waiting to use. I also need a good meatloaf recipe. Someone mentioned using oatmeal in it; was that you?

Thanks!

Default Tuesday

Did I tell y'all that I had to give the cat a bath the other day/night? Well, the poor thing would go get in his litter pan to get away from the kids, and he smelled like it too. I gave him a bath in this sink that's in the basement, and he did way better than I expected him to do. I figured he'd bite and claw with the back paws to get away, but he didn't. He didn't really like it either, but no one got hurt in the whole ordeal. Anyway, after his bath I made him a bed out of a box and some old baby blankets I have. It's behind the TM so he'll have somewhere to go to get away from the kids and not come out stinking!

Deb, Sorry about your GM. My GF passed 10 years ago and my GM is still up and about. Granted she has had a pretty rough time. She had open heart surgery about 4 years ago and was in ICU for what seemed like forever, and she's not been the same since. I've never had a family member tell me that I'm huge or anything like that, but I have had other people tell me "You look like you've gained a lot of weight since I last saw you." What was so darn irritating about it was that these people are't skinny people themselves. I don't understand why in the world grown folks have to act like kids. It makes me mad to hear other people talk about how big others are. It's just not right, and in my opinion, if someone is a big person and they are comfortable with that, then who has the right to "bring it to their attention." Oh and I was wrong, I just remembered, my oldest daughter told me after I had my youngest daughter that I was fat. Even though she was a few days shy of being 5, it still hurt. As for someone you can never please, I gave up on that a long time ago too. Why should I drive myself nuts worrying about what someone else thinks of me? I just do what makes me happy and forget about the rest. I do hope that your GF is ok.

Toni, Where exacty is Eminence, MO? I didn't think about my bad day yesterday turning into a good one with the house and basement being cleaned up. I was mad at the time because of it all. It seems like every house we move into ends up having some kind of plumbing problems, most times it's the toilet though (the kids like to flush unflushable things).

Jack-k, Boy oh boy do I ever look forward to the day when the kids are out of the house. I say that now, but I bet when the time comes I'll be a big crybaby! I found out while they were gone for the 2 weeks that the house stays clean and I don't get driven completely nuts!!!

Country, My mom home schooled my brother. I was so glad that I graduated before she found out about it. My mom has no patients and I wouldn't have been able to stand her standing over me and making me redo stuff I got wrong. I took after her in the patients departmet, I have none either. That's why my kids aren't home schooled, plus I have to get a break sometime or I'd be bald...LOL!!!!!

Pancho, Yesterday was the pits, but today has been quiet, thank goodness!

Well down to the basement to finish up the laundry that got put off yesterday. Talk to y'all later.

Jenn

Default Pancho--recipes and stuff *smile*

Good afternoon. Pancho, my goal weight is 140-135. I have a bout 15 pounds to go. Sometimes as few as 9 but I keep bouncing back up.

When I cook I don't use exacts so I will try to be as close as I can for ya. Here is the lazagna

For the sauce:

1 1/2 to 2 pounds of ground beef
1 large onion
6-8 cloves or garlic or garlic powder
2 can of hunts SF spagetti sauce
1 can tomato paste
italian seasoning
1/4 cup parmesan cheese

Brown meat with onions and garlic. Add the rest of the ingredients.

With the sauce you will need:

1 box of WW lazagna noodles
1 1/2 pounds of mozzarella
1 24 ounce container of cottage cheese (I add one egg and blend together)
1/4 cup or so parmesan for the top

I use a 9 by 13 cake pan. Add a little sauce on the bottom. Then lay three noodles the long way and one the short way. You will have to break that one a little and just put the piece you broke off in with the others. Then I add 1/2 the cottage cheese and more sauce. Then the noodles again. Then half the mozzarella, the other half of the cottage cheese and more sauce. Add the last of the noodles. Add a little more sauce to cover the noodles. The other half of the mozzarella and the parmesan cheese.

Set the pan on a cookie sheet..it will be really full. Cover and cook at 375 for about 50 minutes to an hour. Take off the foil and cook for about 10-15 minutes. Let cool slightly before serving so it will set up.

Very rich and filling.

Now for the meatloaf....this is really a throw together kinda loaf.

About 2 to 3 pounds of meat
1 large onion
garlic
cajun seasoning
2 eggs
a can of cream of mushroom soup
a can of tomato sauce
3/4 cup oatmeal (this part is truly a guess I go by sight and feel)

Mix all together. Shape into a loaf and top with ketchup. Cook for about an hour to an hour and a half on 375

There are 7 of us and there is usually enough for two meals.

Love and hugs,
Crystle

Pancho--Pretty good price on the carnetine. I am getting 180 caps from the HFS for about $55.00.
How does this web place sell them so cheap?
I'll let you know how it does with my weight.

HiedieHo All!

My dears, let me tell you............don't cheat it's not worth it! (I say this now and will remember it until the next event!) I went with the YAH to Country Village, there serve a southern fried everything buffet, if not fried than gravied. What's a girl to do? Starve? Believe me! I didn't starve! As a result the next day I had a binge hangover! To top it off, DS announced we were going to Casino Magic for their buffet as a sort of last real meal thing for GD as she leaves for college today. At least at Casino they have friendly food, you're just not supposed to eat so much of it!

But I am back on the wagon! With vows of food celibacy!

MELF: THank you for the kind words. I have made up my mind that you can't live for someone else. I'll try to be try plain ornery me! DIL, GM and DS give unconditional love and recieve it in turn. Thank God they put up my my little foibles!

FRUIT: I am with you, I've gained some back. We will do it together! I am once again writing down everything that goes in my big mouth! You made it this far...one day at a time! Me too!

DEB: Sorry to hearbout your GM, Remember you are only responsible for your own actions. Your GF will need a lot of support. When my mother passed away I cried for what might have been, not what was.

MONET: Hope you can get your numbers under control. We are our own worse enemy aren't we?

Well, everyone just left for Baton Rouge to take GD to college. They took the SUV which will stay with GD and the car. Both loaded to the roof and then some! Doesn't seem possible that GD is ready for college, I'm not that old!

You are now corresponding with the new lead singer of a mismatched quartet combo that performs as various nursing homes in the area. I used to sing so much, but now it seems like it's choir practice and Sunday. I used music as a therapy and it is so helpful. This group plays the old songs, hymns, etc. To let you know the kind of group they are, they don't practice. They have been playing together so long they just know! I went today for the first time with them and it was fun.

So that's another six outings a month on my calendar!

Must do some things around here. Will try later.

Take care, Shirley

I'm baaaaaack!

My 13-month old is sleeping and I just sent my 5-year old to her room. I have the mobile groomer here, and was taking the dogs outside, and she wanted to come with. I told her to stay inside since it was still muddy out from the storm we had this morning. Well, she decided to come out anyway, and the door closed behind her and locked us out. SO, I had to climb the back wall and climb through the doggie door (thank God I've lost that 25 pounds). I wasn't very happy, so I sent her to her room to think about listening the next time I ask her not to do something.

Country: Thanks so much for the recipes. I'm a throw-it-together type person too, so I'll play with it and get it right eventually. You are not too far from your goal weight. You'll get there!

Gator: I don't know how they sell it for that, but I am just glad they do. I bought some at the store prior to ordering there, and really think this stuff works best. My mom takes the Carnitine that she buys at the store, and it seems to work o.k. for her. We are going to order together next time. When you order from iherb as a new customer, you get 10% off your first order, and everytime you order after that, you get a 6% discount for being a repeat customer. I'll continue to order from them. I always get it within two days of ordering too. Was it your family doctor who recommended it? I'm asking because when I went in to see my family doctor, he told me that I was probably wasting my money on the supplements (a lot of family doctors feel this way, I guess). I take L-Carnitine, L-Glutamine, Fish Oil, Calcium, CoQ10 & a Multi. I want to meet with a Nutritionist though, but insurance won't cover it. Oh well, keep me posted!

Sef: How fun to be a lead singer! You will be busy now.

Well, better run. The dogs will be all groomed soon, and my 5-year old is yelling to come out of her room.

See ya!

I HAVE NOW SET UP MY EMAIL TO BLOCK ANYONE WHO IS NOT IN MY ADDRESS BOOK, SO IF YOU NEED TO EMAIL ME AND YOU HAVEN'T BEFORE, YOU'LL HAVE TO LET ME KNOW ON THE BOARD SO I CAN ADD YOUR ADDRESS TO THE LIST OF RECEIPTS!!

Ok, with that out of the way, let me catch up with everyone!!!

FRUIT.....HIP HIP HURRAH!!!!! I'm so proud of you for staying on plan throughout the whole day!!! I'm sure those sweet little muchikins will help you do that...for some reason, I thought you taught a higher grade...My first grade teach made such an impact on my life, that I still follow some of her rules to this day! Are you any where closer to feeling the spirit of that first football game?

GATOR...Is your egg salad recipe anywhere on the board? I absolutely love the stuff and don't really have a good recipe to follow...I know it's an easy thing to make, but everyone has their own way to do it! Did you see the latest rankings??? 25 for you....13 for me...I hope that's not an unlucky thing...

KIMMY....As you've probably read, I've fixed it for those idiots...they won't be able to get into my mailbox again! If it happens, it will prove it's someone that I know! I've got both of your addresses in my book, so you're covered! Good luck with your weigh in...let us know what happens!

COUNTRY...I make a lasagna similar to yours, but I don't use noodles...I use eggplant...It's yummy....if you try it though, make sure that you blot as much water out of it as your can....

JEC....probably your kitty was ready to be washed...especially if he was in the litter box...Skeeter used to get out in the yard and if there had been another dog there, he would rub his FACE in it!!
EWEEEEEEEEEEEE.......STINKY!!!!

PANCHO...I read about that gas line...that's terrible...really puts everyone in a pinch!
I've got steel cut and regular 3 minute oats mixed together...Make a good combo...try it....never thought about putting my flax meal in it though...will give that a try next time!

BEACH....we had one of those storms on Friday night...you could see the lightening hitting things about every 3 seconds...it was a
massive storm with a lot of wind...I hate this time of the year!!!

JACKIE....CONGRATS to the DD....I love Mexican...and I love your probable choice....I can taste it right now....

MONET... sorry about your lab work...I've hear that the diabetic meds help with weight loss...any truth to that?

BB4 tonight....will be a good one for all who watch!!! Can't wait to see who gets HOH!!!

Well...it's time to feel Skeeter and Kate...I'll talk to everyone later!!!

Default Tuesday

Another ok day of eating... Right now, I could probably take a bite out of the desk, but I am trying valiantly to ignore the siren call from the kitchen.... I just ate a big handful of baby carrots with some light ranch dip. It did not hit the spot, and I am trying to analyze what I need to do, without staring in the fridge while analyzing it. I had eggs and toast for breakfast, a pb&j and a glass of milk for lunch. I had a snack of a couple of deviled eggs (thanks for the idea Gator! ) and the carrots. I have no idea what I am going to fix for dinner.

I talked to my co-worker who had the episode yesterday. The stress test went ok, and she had her blood drawn for the lab tests. Now it is a waiting game.

Work today was kind of slow. I decided to leave early tomorrow to make up for the extra hour yesterday. I like the group I was working with today and tomorrow it will be a tad uncomfortable working with one girl who doesn't like me. She is Hispanic, and does not speak English very well. She totally misunderstood something I said, and now gives me the cold shoulder. At least everyone else is nice.

GATOR: Keep me posted on your opinion on the Carnitine. I will ask my doctor next time I see him. I am interested in trying it, but I want to see what happens with you first!

DEB: I am sorry to hear about your GM. I hope it will not be too hard on your GF. You know what they say, opposites attract. Maybe he had all the kindness..

SEF: You stay SO busy! A singer, eh? I want an autographed copy of your first CD! Sounds like fun! Yes, we are our own worst enemy. I am thinking I ought to quit my job so I am not tempting myself with sugar, buttercream icing and white bread all day!

COUNTRY: Do you cook your lasagna noodles first, or use them uncooked? I love lasagna, but no one else in the family does!

JECRITES: That is really odd that your cat would hide in the litter box. Cats are usually very fastidious about being clean! It is good he let you give him a bath! Mine freaks if you get him anywhere near a large body of water. He thinks we are nuts for getting in the swimming pool. He sits there and looks at us like, "crazy human!"

Gotta go! Will be back later.... SIL is on the phone and wants to talk business!

A blonde guy joke
There were two blonde fellas working for the city council, one would dig a hole, the other would follow behind him and fill the hole in.
They worked furiously all day without rest, one guy digging a hole, theother guy filling it in again.
An onlooker was amazed at their hard work, but couldn't understand what they were doing.
So he asked the hole digger, "I appreciate the effort you are puttinginto your work, but what's the story? You dig a hole and your partner follows behind and fills it up again."
The hole digger wiped his brow and sighed, "Well, normally we are athree-man team, but the guy who plants the trees is off sick today"......

Took her to her GI dr. who said she had traces of blood in poop...... THAT WAS SCARRY....... AFTER PUTTING HER BACK ON PRILOSEC... Default Howdy again...

Just me sitting here at the puter again. *smile* Too hot outside for much else. I laid about 24 tiles.

Monet...I do not cook the noodles first. It saves and reheats very well.

Thank you Ange. I'm glad your little one is okay.

Bob...glad you don't have the worm. My email is [email protected] I don't think I've ever written.

Poncho...I would be hopping mad....but too cool fitting through the doggie door. *smile*

Love,
Crystle

Just Poppin in to say YEAH for ME!

I did it again - all day on plan! I was also down 2 pounds from yesterday. I must have had some fluid in there or something! Who cares - I'll take it!

School was the same today - they are still babies! haha! I guess I couldn't change them in one day. I just dread the beginning of the year - I must repeat myself 450 times a day! UGH! But, I didn't CHEAT!! woohoo!

WILLOW: I just can't make myself write kittywillow - I guess it's just my dirty mind - who knows! Isn't that pitiful? Did you see the movie Just Married? The mom that was in that movie - well, her name was kitty. Whatever! haha! So, that's what I think of - call me a dirty minded chic - but I just can't help it! hahaha!

Ok - I have TONS of paperwork - of course nothing is computerized so I've got to get busy!

I'll see y'all tomorrow!

Love ya
