Thumbs down Happy Saturday!!!!

Hi All

Had a great time out with DH last night. Wanted to tell ya'll about the new restraunt...it is by the chain that owns Outback Steak. The name is Bonefish Grill. They fly in fresh fish everyday and are only open at night. They are the first one in Alabama but have one in Destin, Fl and several in Georgia. It is delicious and if you can avoid temptation...you can stay OP. I kind of stayed OP...Had 2 glasses of wine, appetizer was crab cakes. The crab cakes were the kind that are made with lots of crab and little breading. I had 1/2 of one and hubby had 1 1/2. Caesar salad after that. I ate half of that as well. Then I had the Halibut with a garlic sauce. It was good. They serve everything with sauteed veggies (squash, zuchinni, onions, mushrooms). They also have a choice of sides that are potatoes but also have a rice made with nuts and raisins. I ate about half the halibut and a few bites of the rice. Gobbled up the veggies. Hubby had the potatoes augratin (which I tasted ) and the pork tenderloin which was out of this world good (of course I had to have a bite ). So if one of these places comes to your area...I highly recommend it. It was pricey...dinner for 2 was $70. But we don't do it often and you don't have to have the alcohol and appetizers...

Monet: Like you I cook almost every night now. I use to try and make everyone happy and fix several different things but now I just cook healthy and if they want to eat they will. Most of the time it is meat, chicken, pork or fish grilled outside. I keep it simple with rice, corn, carrots, brocolli, etc. for the sides. Always a fruit salad so the kids will have something if they forego the veggies. I also take advantage of combining take out with something I fix. So if we do chinese, I may pick up some egg rolls to supplement them.

Deb: I'm not a great cook either...most of the time I just tell them to eat what I fix! But both kids have IBS and if they eat wrong they feel so bad so I had to start doing this. Also, I found that by planning out set meals...I keep myself on track!

Grovia: Hopefully your letter will make it in the next magazine as a letter to the editor. GH is usually good about that and then your point will reach many many people. Sonic is a killer. I avoid there if at all possible. My kids love it but it make their tummies upset so that also helps us stay away!

Melf: You made me want shrimp tonight! I add some chopped celery to the butter, garlic and lemon mixture and it is delicious with the shrimp.

Quilter: My WW online is now using the flex points. Seems simple enough. The only thing that affects me is the activity points are not banked...they are only used for that day you do the activity. But with 35 extra points a week...shouldn't be a problem. Right now I have 2 days to go in my week and even with my outing last night, I have 10 flex points left. My point value was lowered to 22 instead of the range of 20-25. So hitting 22 a day will be an issue. Hope I don't fell like a failure if I constantly go over even though the flex points allow it. That's my biggest worry.

BOB: Think hubby and I will rent Chicago tonight. Either that or go to a movie but there is not one out right now I really want to see except maybe Seabiscuit.

BusDeb: HI...didn't know you before but look forward to getting to know you. Glad you are having an easier time of it now than before...sounds like you went through a lot.

Well I have to go and try and find a nice outfit to wear tomorrow to my great nieces Christening. Not much fits right now but I hate to buy something while I am still losing.

Good morning everyone. Just got the cupboards cleaned out. We got a discusting mouse. I think I've caught it but things aren't going back in till I'm sure. The woes of living in the country!!! Guess this is going to be a quiet Sat. DH isn't feeling to good so is watching t.v. and I'm doing a little housework in between being on the computer.

Debilli- Sounds as if you're busy as usual. Your dinner you cooked sounds good. Is the recipe for the cheese blintz in the recipe file? I've never made one but my imagination is going wild. Seems like the yardsales should have been better. But maybe in the next few weeks. People will start cleaning out for winter.

groovia- We have Sonic's here in Missouri. They have a great diet limeade that I just love.

Monet- Glad your cake turned out well. I'll bet you're really glad thats all over. Now time to jump back in the wagon....

Melf- Yummy on the shrimp and garlic. Gee I must be getting hungry with all these good food posts...

Rosalie- Not using the air cond. Oh dear.... I feel for you in this awful heat. How long I wonder is that supposed to go on.

angehaley- You'll find your self around the board soon. The picture of your daughter was adorable. I still have trouble finding my private messages!

Jack-K- Bet you won't be on this week-end but anyway I'm wishing you a good SB week-end anyway.

Beachfan- Hope you had a good time out with your DH last night. They're having a all you can eat crab buffet here in town tonight and we thought about going to it. But know I couldn't stay OP so guess we won't.

Bob- I hope Chicago is good...

BusDeb- Wow I have a niece that was a first responder and she really liked it. Shes now gone into law inforcement. Its so good that everything is going good in your world. You deserve it...

Guess I'll go check the laundry. Have a great day.......

Don't have but a few minutes; I have a bid ending in a few. I have won so many of my bids; my husband is going to kill me when he sees the bank statement, but I guess I could show him what the alternative would cost at the local stores (ha).

I am going to make banana muffins for the girls tonight. My five year old likes to make them and eat them. Can you substitute WW flour for White flour in any recipe? If so, are they deviations in the amounts? I thought I'd make the Zucchini cake and see how "little" of it I can eat (ha).

DEB: Will you post the recipe for the Blintz Loaf? You made me hungry for it reading your post. I checked the recipe board, and unless I overlooked it, it's not there.

Thanks, gotta go!!!

I will check in and weigh in on Monday. So far this weekend, I've been pretty good. I even got to the gym this morning at 7 a.m. to get a workout in.

See ya!

Hey Kids

Just checking in to let you know that I ate some french fries (about 10) at lunch today and now I've got the trots! That's what I get i guess! haha! I'm not having supper - too scared! We just went to the store and planned meals for tomorrow so that I don't let that small cheat turn into a huge one - I have done too good this week!

Last night we went out in New Orleans and DEB - guess what - I didn't drink! Can you believe it? I have decided to be the DD for a while instead of consuming those calories and sugars! Go me! We are going to the French Quarter this weekend and I know that I will have some drinks then - cause we are staying over 2 nights - but I will try my best to keep it to a minimum and not get tanked up!

Hope all of you are ok - I'm hitting the bed and hoping my stomach feels better soon!

HiedieHo All!

Can't believe I haven't posted, I was sure I did! Have been on the go quite a bit and when I get home like to rest. Had a doctor appointment Wednesday, down 9#. NOt great but I'll take it, especially since I have been trying to get on track the last couple of weeks

DEB: Nope the casino serves buffet, take it or leave it.............God forbid! The casino does have a good choice so you may overeat but you overeat the right things! The other place as I said is all southern fried/gravies! Good pics! You can't seny Lauren is yours!

TONI: WE have a pool...not long enough for laps but can do my exercises. I usually do about 30-45 min. of exercises and then paddle and float around. I also usually do the vacuuming and skimming too. Back in PA swam in lakes and ponds, can't do formal exercises there, at least I can't. Or the ocean in NJ. What the group lacks in musicality we make up for in enthusiasm!

JEC: We have a cats that uses his paw to get water too!

JACKK: I wouldn't say we sound wonderful, but we are loud and with nursing home residents that can be an important feature!!

PANCHO: People are kind! They say they enjoy the singing. The two groups I do each week like it when I sing some ditty. I have the knack (or annoying habit) of being able to think of a song for most any subject mention or situation.

MELF: I'm the singer because I don't play an instrument and I have to do something! How's the back? Great that yourDD will be closer to you, even though the reason is not a good one. Will keep you in my prayers. HAndsome group of young men you have!

ANGE: What a happy baby! So cute!

Why is it the board is always busy when you have been remiss in getting here.

FAIRY TALE FOR WOMEN OF THE 21st CENTURY

Once upon a time, in a land far away, a beautiful, independent, self-assured princess happened upon a frog as she sat, contemplating ecological issues on the shores of an unpolluted pond in a verdant meadow near her castle.

The frog hopped into the princess' lap and said: "Elegant Lady, I was once a handsome prince, until an evil witch cast a spell upon me.

One kiss from you, however, and I will turn back into the dapper, young prince that I am and then, my sweet, we can marry and setup housekeeping in your castle with my mother, where you can prepare my meals, clean my clothes, bear my children, and forever feel grateful and happy doing so._ "

That night, as the princess dined sumptuously on a repast of lightly sautéed frog legs seasoned in a white wine and onion cream sauce, she chuckled and thought to herself.......

I don't freaking think so.
***********************************

A Doctor was addressing a large audience in Tampa._ "The material we put into our stomachs is enough to have killed most of us sitting here, years ago._ Red meat is awful._ Soft drinks corrode your stomach lining.
Chinese food is loaded with MSG._ High fat diets can be disastrous, and none of us realizes the long-term harm caused by the germs in our drinking water.
But there is one thing that is the most dangerous of all and we all have, or will, eat it._ Can anyone here tell me what food it is that causes the most grief and suffering for years after eating it?"

After several seconds of quiet, a 75-year-old man in the front row raised his hand and said, "Wedding Cake."

Default Woo hoo

My walking week is over till Monday. Totals for this week are:

44 Miles
3800 calories....so it says..LOL
87,250 steps
Close to 12 hours of walking. No way I could do this without a walking buddy to push and to push. Nest week we are going to cut back a little and try to vary our times so our bodies don't get used to too much of a routine.

I am one beat woman tonight. We skipped this morning and walked 5 miles this evening. It's been a long time since I've walked that far at once. I can't wait to sink into a warm bath in a bit.

Okay, let me say I was BAD....generic cheetos taste toooooo good. Other than scarfing on those I've been pretty good.

Fruit...WTG passing on the drinks. I know it can be hard. I wouldn't mind a kalua and milk.

Sef...down 9 pounds is great!

Pancho.....glad you got so many good bargins.

Well I'm still downloading and installing. It's gonna take forever to build my graphic stuff back up. But it will be fun.

Love and hugs,
Crystle

Evening All

Just now able to get on the computer and for how long, I haven't a clue (kids need it) so I want to try to get in some replies before I need to log off...

Oh, before I forget - ELI didn't know today was our anniversary, he fished, but I wasn't giving in. I didn't even give him his card, if I had, I know if he had given me one, it would not of been because he remembered, just because he had it ready. I would of thought he'd at least plan something, but I was mistaken I'm just going to not do anything and each day I know he'll wait to see if I bring out a card for him or not and then whip his out. Also, he's darn sick and I felt I wasn't going to make him feel worse than he already does by rubbing it in that he doesn't know the date. A bit disappointed but I sorta knew it was coming. Just that it's a milestone anniversary and I thought at least something Events like this are important to me, moreso than it is for a man to remember. It's not the first time he's forgotten and it probably won't be the last. Oh well, gonna keep loving him anyway!

BUS, got your e-mail. The PHOTO ALBUM BOARD is on the SB INFORMATION BOARDS. For the pics, I see you figured it out, and had fun doing so Thanks for sharing the pics of your wedding with us! Your hair got so long! DH looks like a gentle bear and he sounds like a good catch. I wish you many years of naches, which is nothing like nachos, but a Jewish word meaning joy

BEACH, does sound like you and DH went out on a real date and had a great time! There's a BONEFISH being built across the street from OLE OLE and we heard it was good and will definitely give it at least one try when it finally opens. We saw one in Orlando but didn't go.

BOB, know that you mention it...you and ELI do seem to get sick at about the same time Hmmm, no wonder he hasn't had time to even go get me a card! I know where he's been! Geez, if you're going to get him sick - KEEP HIM! Don't send him so sick - it's to obvious now that you pointed out the link You have me re-thinking about watching those videos now. LAUREN was a FANTASTIC MAMA!

TONI, yard sales usually aren't this bad, but I think people anticipated rain this weekend from what the weather man said earlier in the week. The blintz loaf, here you go!

BLINTZ LOAF

1/4 cup butter, melted
3 ouces cream cheese
1 pound cottage cheese
3 eggs, lightly beaten
1/2 tsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup WW pastry flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
4-6 tablespoons agave
cinnamon

Combined the butter, cheeses and eggs in a blender or with an electric mixer. Add the lemon juice, vanilla, flour, baking powder and agave syrup. Pour into a buttered 8x8 baking pan. Dust with cinnamon. Bake in a preheated 325 degree oven for about 40-50 minutes or until nicely browned. Serve with sour cream or yogurt.

When I made it I baked it about 47 minutes. It's even better when it's cooled or been refrigerated

GRAMMY, the BIO BOARD is on the SB INFORMATION BOARDS. If you don't find it, let me know and I'll send out the link

PANCHO, it's on the board but don't worry, as you can see, I posted the recipe board above. Hope you like it if you make it! Did you make the zucchini cake? As for ww flour, usually you can use 1 cup minus 1tbl in place of white flour in most recipes. It will make whatever you are baking a bit heavier. The blintz loaf, you'll taste a tad of the ww flour, whereas with white, you probably wouldn't at all.

FRUIT, good for you for no drinks last night - it will make me overlook the ffries

SEF, that's great news about being down 9 pounds! I'm sure your Dr. was pleased, and you should be too. Thanks for posting the FF, you always make me laugh with them, as I'm sure you do with the folks at the NH

COUNTRY, you did great this week with your walking - I don't think I've ever done that much in one week, okay, maybe once or twice, but it was a blue moon and probably won't happen again!

Okay, LAUREN has been patiently awaiting for me to get off the computer and give it to her. At least I'm caught up, for now anyhow. Will check in in the morning - I'm off to la-la land.

NITE!

{{{HUGS}}}

Default Saturday evening

What a wild day! Laura and I headed over to Toys R Us this morning to get some toys for a baby shower gift. I always give toys...suits my personality I guess! We found a number of fun Fisher Price things. Came home, wrapped the presents, and went to the shower. It was fun. They had a fruit salad of fresh raspberries, blackberries, blueberries and strawberries. Was it delicious! I was feeling hypoglycemic when I got there, so I ate some cheese, berries, and nuts. I did not touch the sweets, or the cucumber sandwiches on white bread. The petit fours looked lovely, but I did not want to be stupid again, and eat sugar, so I admired them from afar. I was amazed at how fast I felt better. I am sure I got the shakey hypoglycemic symptoms from taking my med doses too close together! At least I can tell they are working!

Once we got home, we jumped in the pool and played. Laura and Tom tried to keep the beach ball away from me. We jumped around and chased the ball in the water and out of the pool for almost an hour. Then we went to a favorite Chinese restaurant for dinner. There may have been a bit of sugar in the sauces, but not much. Of course I did not touch the rice. We had beef with broccoli, beef and asparagus, and house special meatballs, which were pork and in a sauce with lots of veggies. I had egg flower soup, and one fried dumpling. I also ate some pickled vegetable.

Now I am tired, and yawning, and thinking it may be time to hit the sack!

Catch you all tomorrow!
