Good Monday Morning.

My weekend was such a whirlwind, I couldn't wait to get back to work and get back in routine.

Eating wasn't too good either. We were out of town moving DD back to college and running everywhere. It was late when we got home and I was exhausted with no desire to cook. So we ordered pizza.

Back OP today. I just hate that I keep sabotaging myself. I am determined this weekend will be 100% OP. Anyone want to join me?

My snack for today was:

1 1/2 T peanut butter approx 150 calories and 3 stalks of celery.

I found some waffles at the HFS that were made from wheat flour and lots of soy stuff. 65 calories and 1 gram of sugar. 7 carbs for 2 waffles. I hope they are legal. They tasted pretty good for something different.

Deb, I had to laugh last week you were talking about dreaming about food (which I do), but I guess it is always on my mind, b/c when I got on the site and saw the poll, I thought it was about bagels, but the word was bagless. Loved the MM today, they really go hand in hand. Deb, don't worry about the weekend eating. SOmetimes that's all we have. I knew about the situation with you and your GM. I know we all want someone's love and approval down deep and even though we say it doesn't bother us, it does. You are only human. Some people are like that. I can't remember my mother telling me that she loved me. It was not something my parents ever did. Therefore I grew up the same way. I have tried to change it and am making progress, but then again I don't like it when people say it all the time either, as then it becomes a habit and not a feeling. I'm glad you dealt with it even if it was with food. Now it is done and you can go on.

Fruit, Good luck on your first day back. Those kiddies will be so excited. It would be great if that excitement would last all year. You can do this. 60 were lost before, so you know you can do it again. Just follow-through as Deb's MM said today. I think it is much easier when you are at work or school all day. You have your food all planned out. If someone brings in some no-no's just say I can't have that. You can do it. Let us know how well you did.

Beachfan, thanks for the MM, it really goes along with Deb's. Keeping my :Crossed: for those 160's. Maybe by WIW. GOod luck.

Jecrites, enjoy your day alone. Hope you get a lot done.

Rosalie, sounds like you made the best of a bad situation, and was still down 1/2 lb. That is great. It does feel good to be back and OP.

Melf, Happy anniversary. 5 years is awesome. You just prove that SB can be done for life.

Pancho, I have a friend who makes some type of pancake with flax seed. Congrats on your 124.5 Weekends are the hardest to survive. I beleive Starbucks has some type of coffee that you can add sf sweetner and syrup too. I just don't like their coffee, too strong for me.

Gator, youprobably walked off that cream. Have a great day.

Toni, you CAN do this. You did it before. Come on back here on a regular basis and we will all help you. I really miss not having you on the board. You were my competition and kept me going. Come on, I'm waiting for you.

Kim, put that weekend behind you (not literly) and get back OP today. My weekend was not so good either. Mainly out of desperation and no choice. Hey my scale was up 4 this morning. Now that is disgusting.

Hope to go back and read the weekend posts. DD took my computer back to college so no chat for me. I think other DD is taken the older computer so I will be w/o one at home.

Have a great OP day!

Good morning! I'm off today & slept late. Thought I'd take the time to check in. I'm having a lazy day. Have to bring GS to dentist this afternoon, so I'm just taking it easy till then.

Have been fighting back ache the last couple of weeks with my new job. I hate to think that I may not be able to tolerate doing this case because I love it. He's not real heavy, just 110 lbs, but when it's a totally bed bound pt & you're doing all the lifting & turning alone, then it's not always easy. Well, enough complaining.

Teensybean, OMG, what a difference 2 years makes. Thanks for sharing the before & after pics!

fruitloupe, Maybe being in a controlled environment like school will help you stay on plan. You can do it! You did it before & you KNOW it works!

BeachFan, You'll be down to those 160's before you know it!!

Debelli, Interesting challenge you have there! And you're absolutely right about trying to squeeze in a snack when you eat 5-6 small meals a day. I always try to place my snacks at least 2 hours after a meal. I primarily have a piece of fruit for snacks. Soooo sorry to hear of the unsettling problem with your DG. It's hard when you've tried to earn someone's approval & continually fail. My dad was that kind of person. Well Deb, WE LOVE YOU HERE!!! You mean alot to us! And the measure of we have for you does not change with your weight. You also have terriffic kids & don't you ever doubt that!\

jecrites, My DD is excited about the boys being back at school too, so I understand how you feel. LOL

Rosalie What kind of new job were you training for?? Guess I missed that post! Glad to hear that the off plan eating did not hamper the weight!

Pancho, 124.5 WOW! WTG girl, even with the off plan eating you did on Saturday. What is your goal?? Hey, I ground flax seed on yogurt, as a matter of fact, that was my breakfast this morning. You can also sprinkle it on veggies if you like. I had found a recipe for pb balls which included them, but I missplaced it. If I remember correctly, they suggested you roll the balls in it. Sounded really good but I never got around to trying it.

Gatorgal Hey girl, I was talking about you yesterday. Our church bulletin had this beautiful pic of different butterflies & someone commented on it & I was telling them about your butterfly garden & the beautiful pics you had posted.

Sorry I missed the last couple of posts. I should have hit refresh before I posted.

Toni48, You CAN do it girl! I have every confidence in you Hey, I Garfield & get a daily cartoon in my email. When I saw that one I just could not resist sending it. LOL It's true that as we get older we do seem to have more trouble loosing. It takes extra effort from us, but it is worth it for our good health!

QUILTER/Kim, The scale was up for me this morning too, but you know what? I'm not paying any attention to it. It will come back down. Probably water gain & too much salt yesterday. I'm sure yours is not much different, so eat healthy today & be on track! We'll make it through this.

Jack-K Pizza, oh I'm afraid that is a downfall for me too when ever I can get my hands on it. LOL I'm ok as long as the GS is not here. Yes, SB CAN be for life & it needs to be with us, as many of us have proved that when we get away from it, the lbs do return. It works, many of us here have proved that, so why do you think we tend to go astray? Just human I guess.

Talking GOOD MONDAY MORNING (OR AFTERNOON)

Well Hello there everyone!

It's Monday and I'm back on plan. Let me explain...And beleiev me I wich I could blame it on the blackout, but I can't. At least not completely.

Thursday was a really crappy day for so many more reasons than just loosing power, although that didn't help. The day started with me going into NYC (1 hour away) to fill out the paperwork for my "official" hiering. Then I had to go to the Bronx (20 min away from there) for my "physical" basically peeing in a cup (which I couldn't even do b/c I had sweat so much), blood draw to check for antibodies to prove I've been vacinated and PPD (TB test). I was supposed to be able to park in NYC and take a bus to the Bronx and then back so I would only have to pay to park once. Well.... the woman in HR took so long (and it took forever to find them so I was running around sweating to death) that I missed the bus and had to drive to Bronx and pay to park twice. Then the nurse informed me that I would have to come back two more times to the Bronx to get the first part of the TB test checked and then to get a second test they required checked and then after all that I'll have to go back to NYC... It's all so frustrating that it's going to be so involved and so costly. It costs $7 in tolls plus $11-13 to park in the Bronx and $10 to park in NYC. What do they think I'm made of money. After all I'm not working now, if I was I wouldn't be able to come in another 2-3 times in the next week or so.

Anyway, so that had me down and then the power outage and then I got a notice that my financial aid was reduced so I have to deal with the hassle of getting that fixed. Basically, I'm just in a really bad money situation and instead of things getting better they only seem to be getting worse. I could go on and on but I won't bore you all.

In the end between this and decreasing my dose of 5HTP (I take this suppliment to help combat depression) b/c I thought it migt be making me too tired. I became depressed. Not stay in bed or cry all day. Just moody and unmotivated to put in the effort to stay on plan.

So Friday-Sunday I ate anything I wanted. I didn't binge (which I am proud of), I ate normal amounts of food and not a lot of junk (after all there really isn't much in the house), but I ate off plan non-the -less and I honestly didn't come here b/c part of me wanted to feel bad. I didn't feel deserving of te encouragment I would get here (esp. since Debbie had cared enough to e-mail me and check if I was okay after the blackout and then I went off plan) (I KNOW SILLY, SILLY, SILLY of me).

By last night, I had come to the realization that I was making bad choices, I needed to up my 5HTP again (and just deal with the tiredness) and get back OP. Basically I decided not to let this part of my life go, just b/c other parts were overwhelming me.

So here I am back here to get and offer my support.

I have to go bakc and read a bunch of last weeks posts, but I'll catch up in the next few days.

For now, I'm going to get on the TM and walk for a while.

Have a great SB Day! I hope we all make good food choices this week.

It's me again! Got an email from Tranguil & she asked me to post this for her, so here it is!

If you could, please forward a note to Sugar Busters for me:

I am still following to the best of my ability, even though there is an extreme case of stress in my life from the remodeling at home that has just about cleaned out my pockets, and continuing to do so with every little thing that is done - seems a lot of things were covered up before my purchase of this house 5 years ago....but that is the way it goes....work is nuts, we are all stressed and crazed as Mad Hatters, and that (I am sure she does not mind my saying this) includes Serene....had a visit with a new doctor I was referred to and now I am just speeding along with some new meds - well phentermine to be adequate - he said if I dont get this malingering weight off right away things are just going to go downhill....I dont have a computer up and running - other than a slow thing my grandmother has - and I don't get home till late at night - so no time for internet...sorry for my absence, but it will be this way until Mid September. Better run now ....work is calling!
Sabrina

Bashful, Sorry to hear that you're having such a hard time. Don't throw the towel in girl. Hang in there & it will improve!

Hello, everyone. I hope your day is going well.

Motown, this is one of the best places I've ever found for encouragement and support. I just signed up last week and I can't begin to tell you how great these women are. I'll be glad when I've been here awhile and can share successes with other new members.

Deb, I'm so sorry you're having to deal with your GM's problem. And rest assured, it is her problem, not yours. I can tell that just by the short time I've known you on this site. When my GM died, I didn't even mourn her passing. She was a stroke victim and her personality changed over the next ten year that she lived. Once when I saw her in the hospital during that time, she looked at me with such hatred and malice that I was stunned. This was the same woman who used to call me the apple of her eye. Anyway, the reason I did not mourn her passing was I realized that the woman I had loved had passed a long time before her actual death. I do understand some of your hurt, though. I have an uncle that never fails to say "I didn't think you could get any bigger but I was wrong!" Do you want to guess how soon I hope to see him again? Never sounds good to me! Anyway, keep your chin up and don't let her get you down. You're the best.

Fruitloupe, I do so much better with my plan when I am at work. Snacking has always been a problem for me. I'm still snacking at home, but eating fruit or nuts instead of ice cream and chips.

Speaking of chips, I had some with my supper Saturday night and few last night. Other than those two times, I did the best on a weekend food wise that I've ever done! I'm so proud of myself. Weekends have always been my downfall.

Gotta finish my work for the day. Have a great evening all.

Snack idea: 3 devilled egg halves. Make the filling using mostly yellow mustard and just a little Duke's (no sugar) mayo. Lots of protein. No carbs.

Snack idea 2: 1 tablespoon p-nut butter on 1/2 apple, which you have cut into wedges first. Good 'n juicy with protein on top.

Snack idea 3: Egg salad, made with 1 egg, yellow mustard and 1 tsp Duke's mayo, piled on one slice WW toast.

Thought I'd just check in. I was at loose ends and didn't want to eat, so thought I'd come to the board.

Bashful--Hang in there.

Hey gals,

I know I've been MIA for a few days, but I got very sick, very quick last week - still coughing up a lung from time to time... Missed 1 1/2 days of work and still paying for it!

We did try to have a good weekend - went to the Braves game on Sat night. Drove to Atlanta Sat and was just miserable with the crud/coughing, my youngest son had the "trots" (as my Dad used to call it), my DH got a shot for a muscular problem in his back before we left, so we were a pitiful group We still had a good time at the game, even if we running to the bathroom, coughing, gagging, sniffing, snorting and moaning...

As of this morning, compared to last Monday, the scale was down 3.5 lbs. Not really thrilled though as the scale last week BLEW MY MIND, being the highest ever (non preg). I'm determined to get back down to a postable number before too long!

Going back to Curves today. I hope I don't go into a coughing fit when I get warmed up.

No time for replies - Will catch up later!

GOOD EVENING EVERY BUDDY!!!

Got home, checked my email and there was THE DAMN WORM!!!! Lucky that I've got McAfee...it caught it and did away with it, but I'm running the scanner just to be safe!
A friend of mine sent me something yesterday that had THE DAMN WORM in it, and I scanned then.
The email address that I use is not public, I don't sign up anywhere for anything with it...HOW DO THESE PEOPLE GET MY ADDRESS???? I have no idea who this person was....Hope I don't have to change my address again...I have it set up on my other
address to not accept any mail from anyone that's not in my address book...I can't remember how I did it! Does anyone know?

MELF....GREAT EMAIL....I loved it and sent it on to a lot of people!

DEB...I know how this thing with your GM weighs on your mind, but you've done everything that you can do. YEP....no air in my STARBUCKS , but I had mine at home before I went anyway...You know me, I'm NEVER going to be WITHOUT my STARBUCKS!!!!!

PANCHO....by all means get yourself a pedicure.....I used to think that I wouldn't be able to stand some one strange fooling with my feet, but GIRL!!!! IT'S DA BOMB!!!

I'll be back later to address the rest of the BUNCH!!! Got to feed the FURBABY!!!

Hello again:

I love working out, as I did get my workout in today....but it always makes me soooo hungry. I don't know if any of you have heard about the gas pipelines being down in the Phoenix area. Well, gas is having to be trucked in, and no-one can keep up with the demand. It is awful! There are lines 1/2 to 1 mile long at the gas stations that do have gas. They are starting to charge between $2-$4 per gallon. We will be staying home the next few days. It may take 10-14 days to get it up and running.

GatorGal: I take L-Carnitine. Did you read the book The Carnitine Miracle by Robert Crayhon? If not, it is worthy of reading. I have taken L-Carnitine for the past few months, and am sure it is what accelerated the weight loss and has helped me keep it off. I take the Carnitine Tartrate, which is supposed to be the best for weight loss acceleration. I researched it thoroughly because I don't like taking anything "unnatural." BUT, I do feel comfortable taking it. Our bodies make L-Carnitine, but we start to lose it as we age. By replacing it, we are replacing the energy in our cells, and keeping our cells healthy.

Toni: HANG IN THERE GIRL!

Jack: I'll join you for an OP weekend. This weekend s/b a little easier, no social functions that I am aware of.

Melf: Hope your back feels better soon. BAck pain in the worst! I fell and hurt my back about 13 years ago, and it gives me a lot of problems. My realistic goal was 130 pounds. I am 5'4". So, I have definately met my goal, and now just hope to maintain and firm/tone up. Everyone thinks I am toned already, but they don't see my tummy (flabby baby belly - ha). I had the ground flaxseed in my yogurt this morning, and it was very tasty. I am sure I can throw it is just about any recipe; does anything happen to it when it is heated?

bashful: Wow, what a crappy day!! I guess I can understand why you'd go off plan a bit. Exercise is so good for stress....you go jump on that treadmill and gooooooooooo.

Tranquil: we hope to hear from you more regularly in mid-September when things slow down a bit. Good luck staying OP and take good care of yourself!

Libra: Way to get through the weekend OP!

TV: Hope you and your entire gang are feeling better soon.

BOB: Thank heavens for McAfee. I'll take your advice on that pedicure. I'd love to treat myself to one!

Well everyone, have a great day. I will be checking in frequently the next few days, as I will be homebound.

Take care!

Hey All

Thought I'd be able to get on here earlier but LAUREN has been working on a school project most of the afternoon and she just got off, so I hoped on just to get in a short hello as ELI is over-due and hopefully will be walking in the door at any time, which then, I'll get off and go see him.

Tomorrow I have to work for my Mom for the day so I won't be anywhere near a computer from early on and probably won't get to check in til later on in the evening - that's if I can get near the computer then.

Okay, he just walked in, I've got to skiddadle, will try to come back later, if possible.

Default Monday Night

Monday Night---

Hello! Well, my eating was all so good today. Right on track. But of course, most of that motivation comes from having to weigh in tomorrow night at WW. A nice dose of accountability to smack me right between the eyes.

kittyWILLOW---Welcome! You have picked the right place to be if you want to learn about SB. This is a group of very knowledgeable people. I wish you good luck. Just hang in there. And don't get discouraged.

PANCHO---I'm glad to see that you are working out and that you are loving it. Way to go!!!!! Sometimes I have trouble getting started, but after I'm finished I feel like I could do just aobut anything! And that's a great way to start the day. Keep up the good work!

BOB---I am with you on this damn spam mail that keeps coming up. I have an aol account that is only for spam. I have luckily kept my other accounts free of it. But in the past couple of weeks, I have noticed some weird emails hitting my two other addresses. It makes me mad. Here's one way your address could be getting out, and sad to say there's nothing we can do about it. When a friend of yours sends you a "forward" and that forward encourages you to forward it on. Each time that piece of email gets sent, the person who originated it gets every address in your address book and every other person's who it was sent to. Does that make sense? That's one reason I NEVER forward anything. If I think something is funny or interesting or important enough to pass on. I copy the body of the email and start a brand new email. I don't forward. So they only thing you can do is to tell your friends to stop forwarding so much email.

GATOR---I enjoyed reading your snack ideas. I LOVE egg salad. Love it too much!!!

TONI48----I'M SO EXCITED THAT YOU ARE BACK!!!! I really missed you. Just ask DEB, I kept asking after you. How are things in good old Missouri??? Toni, just start right now. Just try to take care of "right now" and don't worry about the rest. You had success before and you slipped. Hey, that's what being human is all about. But you are back and you know what to do. YOU CAN DO IT!!!! We are here sending good thoughts your way!!!

MELF---Thanks for the post from TRANQUIL. I miss her and SERENE. BTW, I am not letting the upped scale get me down. I'm using it as a motivator to get me and keep me focused. Last week I had 5 really good days. So this week, I'll shoot for 6. It's the only way to do it. One day at a time. I hope your back gets better soon.

BASHFUL---I am so sorry to hear of your terrible days last week. Hang in there. I hope it all works out really soon. I'll tell you one thing . . . I sure do admire you for even being able to drive in NYC. You are one BRAVE soul. Take care.

JACKK---I seriously question myself sometimes when I just go off and stop keeping track. This past weekend at somepoint, I said I would not journal the entire weekend. This quickly made decision was followed like the 10 commandments. I didn't once get out my notebook. So I will give it another try this weekend. Perhaps I should tie the notebook around my neck and wear it like a big cumbersome notebook. Anyways, good luck to you. If we can just keep up our workouts, perhaps that will get our eating back into its regular way of being.

BEACH---Hey, I'm a great procrastinator too! I feel like I've perfected it to a fine art form. LOL!!! Congrats on the wonderful weigh in. You are doing so well. Keep it up!!! Those 160's are right around the corner.

Okay, that's it for me. Hang in there to everyone!!! If we find ourselves wanting to eat something that's not on our plans, wait at least 10 minutes. Perhaps the urge will disappear. Just don't give in to evil impulses to binge.
