CONGRATS, Talitha! That is awesome that you met your goal! I am so excited for you! When do you get the official 'you won'?
Been a busy weekend. Tom and I picked figs yesterday and I made a low sugar batch of preserves. I also made whole wheat biscuits that turned out pretty good. I put sausage in them for sausage biscuits...a quick breakfast favorite with the men here.
I have my follow up appointment with the new doctor tomorrow. It will be interesting to see what she says.
TONI: what is an egg in a basket?

Ellen-I hope it goes fine at the new doctor..... Egg in the basket is a whole cut in the bread and the raw egg put in there and cooked. Yum... Also toad in the hole.

Morning! Just passing by... Breakfast was three fried eggs (in smart balance and a non stick pan) and a small bowl of cheerios with milk. I went for a walk this morning too....just killing time until I have to leave for my doctor appt.
TONI: Oh! Ok! We call that an 'egg in a hole'. My father loved it.. I think I will have that for breakfast tomorrow!

Good morning ladies,
Hope everyone had a great weekend. I spent most of it with my new GGS. Boy is he colicy (sp). He cried most of the 2 days I was there. I have never seen a new baby sleep so little. I bet he never slept a whole hour the entire day until they got in the car. I think I am too old for this.
Made it back to the gym this morning. Did beginner stuff at lighter weights. I don't want to barge right back to where I was and hurt myself. Now to get my eating back on track. So far so good today.
BF: Hardboiled egg, 1 pc thin ww bread (equal to 1 reg piece), 1T light mayo.
Snack: 1/2 container of carb master yogurt (light)
Lunch: Turkey on ww sandwich thin, 1 T mayo, grapefruit pieces, leftover broccoli casserole.
Snack strawberries.
Dinner: Chicken (most likely chicken parmesean mad with ww bread crubs and pasta), some veggie.
Lots of water.
Talitha, congrats to you on an awesome job.Boy you have determination and willpower. Steak & Shake and Mexican. You go girl.
Ellen, your day with your GS sounds like fun. How nice of your SIL to to do yard work. Hopeyou can get your BS regulated soon. I can't imagine the walking not helping. Hope you stay dry today from the hurricane.
Toni, Surely another doctor can call you with the test results. Nov is a long time to wait. We have Direct. I finally cut out all the movie channels. Especially during the summer. We don't watch much TV anyway. The only thing is they seem to go up every month. But that is with any of them.
Crystle, I had a fracture in my 3rd metatarsal about 3 months ago. One Sat I was not wearing the boot thinking it was much better and my foot slipped out of the sid eof my flip flop and I twisted it and broke it. So now I have 6 more weeks of the boot. It it is not better they will have to operate and use pins. I did hurt it again this Sa when I stepped off my patio into the yard while i was watering my flowers. I hope I didn't do anything bad. I go back next week and should have another 3 weeks to go. Hope you enjoyed your lazy weekend.

Good evening
Howdy ya'll. The shower was awesome. I ate like a piggy. Still not eating like I should be eating better and bringing more healthy choices into the house.
((Everybody)) I'm dragging tonight. I'll try to be a better poster tomorrow.
God bless,
Crystle

Checking in ladies. Life is not good here. Ellen is very down. I went back to the doctor yesterday. I had already spent a good deal of time thinking and considering what I knew she was going to say. I am maxed out on meds, walking and eating carefully is not helping. My A1C was high and my fasting blood glucose levels scary. I came home with a script for Insulin. I started it last night and was disappointed to see no improvement this morning. Give it time, I guess..... I asked the doctor if she had a diet she recommended, and she gave me a brochure on meal planning for diabetics. Totally useless.....it contained nothing I found helpful.
SOLLY: Keep that boot on! Eat plenty of calcium rich and vitamin C rich foods to stimulate bone healing. I had seen you mention the boot, and had not caught what happened...thanks for 'splaining again!
TONI: I hear ya! Lets get back on the straight and narrow so Talitha doesn't decide to start kicking butt! She is all muscles now.... Plan meals and don't buy bad stuff! That is my mantra!
COUNTRY: I find it hard to go to events and not eat, but with the blood sugar issues, I am finding it easier and easier. I miss that perfect control I used to have...How I wish I could find it canned or something. ((hugs))
Time for lunch here...then I need to shove off to the store and fill my prescriptions.

Just had a healthy choice meal. It wasn't the best but I skipped breakfast and was starving. Not much going on today.
Ellen- I'm so sorry you're having such a hard time health wise. Its sounds like you're doing everything you can.
Solly-I sure hope you don't have to have surgery. Sounds like your Grandbaby is a handful. Mine used to be so colic too. Hope your eating is going good still.
Crystle- Hope you're doing better today...
Well think I'll drag my lazy self to the bedroom and get the bed made up.....
Have a happy day....

Good afternoon ladies
Today was a trip to my RA doc. She said I was a mess. She suggested something that I can't get into right here now but hopefully soon if it works out.
My shingles are very painful yesterday and today, but I attribute it to the bra. Wish I could go w/o but I did that all last week and I felt very frumpy if you know what I mean.
I spent the night with my DD and got up with the baby at 4:30. Her DH was on night work and even though she can manage by herself, I hate it for her being there by herself at night. Plus I enjoyed being with him and her. The baby was much better yesterday. She bought a Dr Brown's bottle. I had never heard of them. They have a tube in them which is supposed to cut down on the air. Don't know if it was the bottle or if he is turning the corner some. We sat outside and he just looked around while I talked to him for about 45 minutes. He is starting to coo and smile some. I really like it when they start doing "something".
Ellen, I am so sorry about the insulin. I always thought a diabetic diet was pretty much just like SB. I know my freind lost a lot of wt but here levels did not come down drastically. Give it some time. It will surely get better. I like your mantra. Planning is important. Oh, can you post the recipe for the ww bisquits. They are my favorite thing, especially with gravy on them
Toni, I wish I could figure out why we can't eat what we are supposed to. Actually, I know why, the bad stuff taste so much better and we can't choose better for you over good tasting. I weighed at the dr today with my shoe and boot on. I never would do that, but I just didn't care today. I can't really figure this out, as for the last 6 weeks my eating has been horrible and I even had a huge Mexican meal on sunday to where I was miserable, but the scale has stayed the same. Normally, I would be up 15 pounds by now. It sorta worries me.
Crystle, hope you got some rest and are having a great day.
Off to log my food at Sparks. Eating is still good. Dinner tonight is pot pie. I normally use ww pie crust but did not have one. But it still should be within my calories. Hoping to make it to the gym for awhile tonight. Have a great evening.

Toni, you would think with all the fruits and veggies this time of the year it would be easier. I really don't think it comes down to a time. I think we have to really want it more than food. I guess it boils down to choices. We have bad food ingrained in us from way back and that is what we choose.
The scale was down this morning into a new set of numbers. I will wait until Friday for the official weigh-in to post it and change my ticker. Two days of eating and 2 days of making it to the gym, even though I am not breaking a sweat at the gym. I guess it is better than nothing.
Hope everyone is having a great day. off to log in my food.

Toni, don't beat yourself up. Just don't let it turn into more bad eating. Put it behind you and get right back on track. You can do it.

Good afternoon
Sorry I didn't make it to the board yesterday. The scales and I are at odds right now. Probably because of poor eating. What's so stinky is it's not horrible eating just bad eating and I gain and gain and gain. I thought seriously about not coming back to the board but decided you are guys are just what I need to jump start me. Today has been a good eating day.
Solly...I'm so glad your grand baby is feeling better. It's so hard when they cry and you can't comfort them. My nephew had colic when he was a baby.
Ellen...((hugzz)) I'm so sorry that your levels are not good. Hang in there. My sister kept pushing 300 to 500 and they couldn't get it to go down. It's finally getting at better levels. I think sometimes you just have to find the thing that works for you. Praying that God will help you find just the right combination.
Toni...don't feel bad. I won't list my transgressions this week. I should have never made beef and dumplings and then chicken and dumplings the next night. Had to make foods that would stretch. Boy were they good.
Talitha...hope you are having a super week.
I think I will grind some wheat so I have no excuses to eat the white products.
I'm praying ya'll have a great rest of the day.
Love and hugs,
Crystle

Crystle- At least you were eating good down home food. Mine was just a plain old sugar binge. Please don't leave the board. We all need each other.
Solly- Darn I know we can do this...... I know it, I know it......... LOL.
Well tonight is pulled pork sandwiches on whole wheat bun and a baked sweet potato for me while DH has fries with his. Wish I would have made that coleslaw today I've been meaning to make.
