Ahhhhh - being at home has helped me do GREAT this week!
I worked out M-W-F with 30 minutes cardio/core (which I hated. HATED!), 30 minutes weights, M-F was legs, W was arms, and then hubs and I had an hour walk at a moderate pace. T, Th I did an hour with Rodney Yee's Yoga burn. Just that hour. But what an hour. About the third time Mr. Yee instructed me to "put my knee to my nose" I erupted in obscenity. The sweat was already erupted. Then today - cardio burlesque. Don't ask. 30 minutes of that, with the doors firmly shut and the blind drawn tight, and 30 minutes of delightfully gentle yoga. So I am jamming along on my "7 hours weekly" goal thus far.
I am excited for next week. Sunday will probably be 30 more gentle yoga minutes - I'm so excited that at this point, I count a day that involves some gentle flow yoga as rest. When I started, I was sweating and grunting and swearing a blue streak with every down dog.

Go chicks go! We can do it!!

ThundahThighs - seriously impressed with your workout schedule! Envious, actually... I would love to be able to work out an hour a day but between lacking motivation, entertaining my father for another week, and dreading getting back into working out, I am barely making an hour with my horse a day. Which can be quite the workout when he's being a pill, like today - man, my upper body is sore!

MissPriss - given the amount of English candy I've eaten since my dad arrived, and the lack of formal exercise, I am actually thrilled to have maintained! But now I need to put my head back in the game and get myself working out and eating on plan again - no more excuses!

I'm loving the "Lose It!" app I got on my iPod Touch - now that I can update my eating several times a day without having to get on the computer, I'm doing a better job with it. And I'm using it as a planner - like today, hubby wanted Subway so I looked up what would be a good choice as we were driving to the store. I like to plan so making decisions before I go to eat is a good idea for me.

I also spent some of my birthday gift money (I'm a Christmas Eve baby so I get money at Christmas!) on a yoga bolster pillow - I can't do the corpse pose with my legs flat due to back issues (or possibly due to my rear being so bubble-butt-esq that it hoists me too far off the ground when I'm laying down!), so putting the bolster under my knees really helps. I also like doing gentle inversions and the bolster helps with that. Also ordered the 30 day shred DVD for those days when I simply cannot face the gym but desperately need to do SOMETHING active. And the workout journal I ordered just after Xmas should be delivered tomorrow so I can start tracking my workouts. Phew. I'm exhausted just thinking about it all!

Hi ladies. Sorry I have been MIA. I've been on here everyday, just haven't had much to say. (haha. shocker I know!) Anyways, life is good. Had a great New Year's with the bf. Today is my first day back on plan with diet and exercise. I'm going to keep track in my signature so you can all hold me accountable.

Lori and misspriss- Love you ladies! Hope your families are both doing well in the New Year. I have big goals for this challenge so I am really looking forward to making this happen. Life is what you make it, and I'm ready to shake it and lose all this weight for good this year! Woohoo!

I am very interestd in joining this Challenge!
My goal for Valentine's Day is to be in the 120s (the low 120s would be wonderful) but I am tired of always looking for a quick fix. This time I am going to take my time, count my calories, eat healty, and exercise within reason.
I also need to have a place to be accountable! Let the challenge begin!

Gee whiz, I had written a long post and then I went back a page to check on what someone said and I lost it!

Oh well, let me just jump in. Lori, your pictures look great, your children are precious, and your husband is quite a handsome guy!

I am up 1 pound over the holidays, so my goal is to lose 4 lbs in this challenge which will get me back down to my ticker weight plus 3 more pounds--that will put me at 168 for a total loss of 25 pounds since I started!

Welcome, everyone new!! And it is so good to see all familiar posters who are back for this challenge. I love keeping up with everyone even when I'm not commenting myself.

Ok guys, I'm ready to finish what I started. I joined this group because I need support. I've been in this position before...at my weight now....trying to lose the rest and then....40lbs heavier later. Please if any of you can...What do you do or say to yourself to keep motivated, especially when you step on that scale and you see a few lbs increase?

Thanks

I am right there with you! I've tried so many products, cleanses, diets...and it only works for a little bit. You can do it, and thats good if you take your time. We can all help eachother and be accountable.

2. I also commiit to be able to do this, to log my calories consumed and burned daily.
3. I will exercise daily and encourage my kids to join in.
4. I will shave my legs at least once per week.

Any and ALL encouragement and reminding will be taken with appreciation.

Thank you.

jdonato....when i see an increase, i try to figure out if it was something I ate or may it just be water weight??? When I get really frustrated (as I have the past couple months) I log onto 3FC and write about it...the ppl here will give you encouragement to keep going!

imadoinit....welcome! LOVE YOUR #4! I may have to add that to my list of resolutions!!! one thing I've found that helps w/busy life style AND trying to count cal/lose weight...PLAN PLAN PLAN! Plan your day out, so you know how many cal. you have remaining if there's something you want...or even plan your week out on sunday IF you can make freezable dinner meals all on sunday evening???

emileigh....1lb is NOT bad for the holidays! Good luck reaching Vday goal!!!

bilang...yes, quick fixes are only that...A QUICK FIX...actually changing your eating will help take it off and keep it off...it may take longer, but in the long run, it'll be worth it!

as for my official WI today....i'm at a new low! WOOHOO 187.2! I might actually meet my goal! 1st one EVER! I've been feeling a lil sluggish since TOM arrived, but when I'm done here, gettin on the recumbent! I think I'm gonna up the resistence & go for a shorter time than my usual 45-50min....ALSO, I'm planning on starting C25K next week (possibly this week)...I've never been a runner, but I read somewhere that running helps with belly fat?!?!! anyone know anything else that helps??? AND, maybe it'll help w/my thighs! lol

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!! WE CAN DO THIS!!!

misspriss78 - YAY! I have the Biggest Loser Weight Loss yoga on my Netflix Q and hearing you say it's leaving you shaking makes me excited to get it and do it!! I think I'll be keeping Mr. Yee around a bit, or maybe even buying him. It got easier the next go-round, but it's a good stretch all the same. Go girl!!

julesp313 - Don't be envious! I am unemployed right now! It's easy to work out when that's your only work.
I am terrified, I mean TERRIFIED of horses, but I have heard that riding is an AMAZING workout! I bet you get a great workout in that hour!

Ladies - onward!!! Now, someone convince me to take off my socks and get busy with my pre-lift mini-cardio! It's COLD here in Austin today!!

Wow...it's busy busy busy in here.

It's nice to see so many new people and alot of the previous members come back.

Well today is back to work and back to routine.
All together Dec was good to me. I actually loss 9.5lbs by the end of the month. I am hoping to contine that momentum into the new month/year.

KDM322 I actually completed the C25K program in October. I lost 16lbs going through the program and I LOVED IT. There is nothing like the feeling when you accomplish one of the runs you were so scared to start. I wish you the best of luck. Also, if you go to "c25k" .com website, they have links to different training sites and podcast that time out the routines for you. So they call out the walks and runs. I actually got a c25k app for my phone and it was nice not having to keep look at my watch. I just listen for the cues.

Default I'm in!

I've never done one of these challenges, and I'm starting with calorie counting, so here goes.

By February 14th, I want to drop 15 lbs. That means 2 lbs a week.

I will do this by counting my calories (appx. 1350 a day), running, and a new exercise program at work.

We can totally do this!
