Thanks Neko! I honestly don't feel like I am on a diet and I think that might be the key to making this work.

<~~~~~~~~ Giggling at the nut indescretions!

Making it through the weekend should be interesting but I'm up for the challenge.

PS By the way:

HAPPY FRIDAY!!!

Congrats Zoerba! *offers Zoerba a P1 Legal cookie* How much longer do you have on phase 1?

ok, the South Beach brand cottage cheese tastes funny. I had a coupon on it, so I figured the pre-portioned containers would be handy for hectic mornings. Never again. I can't even place my finger on what is wrong with it. Unlike regular LF cottage cheese, this one has a whole long list of ingredients.

I've seen alot of posts regarding SBD products having lots of ingredients including HFCS in them.. I'm not sure how that works!?
I haven't seen many of their products in my stores, except the wraps, frozen meals and some of the bars... which I have to wait til PH2 or beyond to have. Even then I might stick to other options instead.

That's part of the reason I like this diet though, is that you don't have to buy special products and most of it is fresh vegetables and lean meats. Yes it can be expensive but my health and self esteem is worth it right?

Well, there is this..
http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=49623
I haven't tried making them yet.

Everytime I try a SB/Kraft product I wind up hating it. This cottage cheese has Food-starch modified and a bunch of strange things. Regular LF cottage cheese by Friendship doesn't have this. The frozen meal I had last week was almost inedible.

I prefer being on a diet where you can just eat real foods. I don't think I could stand living for months on pre-portioned prepared meals ala Jenny Craig. I figured there were just normal preportioned 1/2 cup cottage cheeses. Back to finding normal food to eat.

Yes it's true! Phase 1 legal cookies! They are peanut butter and they are YUMMY! I made them last night and had to freeze almost all of them so I didn't eat the entire batch! Just look under the SB recipe section. Be careful not to overcook them. I made mine pretty small and baked them about 6 minutes.

I keep seeing people having skim milk latte's on their menu. Are you making your own?? I've been looking for a warm drink to have but can't find anything without truckloads of sugar in it! Anyone found any safe drinks at Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts at all either? I miss my hot chocolate!

I'm a latte drinker!

At Dunkin Donuts, there's no SF syrups. So you can only get a plain skim latte with splenda. However at Starbucks they have 5 sugar free syrups, a chocolate one (haven't tried) SF caramel, SF vanilla (my favorite), SF hazelnut (good) and a SF cinnamon (not a cinnamon fan). They also have the samefive flavors at any Seattles Best, since they're now owned by Starbucks.

I don't have a machine to make my own lattes, that might not be good for me. A small latte is 90 calories or about 1 cup of skim milk. Even a large one is only 160 calories or a little less than two cups.

I'll have to check out the PB cookies but I'll probably have to freeze them myself! I have a peanut butter 'problem'! ;D

I've had some of the SF/FF lattes from Starbucks before and they are pretty tasty. My favorites are the hazlenut, caramel and the cinnamon dolce..

I wish I had one now in fact!

Hi guys, I don't have a machine either. But all you need to make a latte is a strong cup of coffee or shot of expresso, some milk, and some sf syrup, or splenda and extract. It's not exactly the same as at Starbucks, but still pretty good. If you want the frothy milk, you can invest in a frother. There are some inexpensive handheld battery operated models (~$15), but I've got my eye on a Froth Au Lait. They're about $50. But I have a heavy latte habit. I even sometimes use instant coffee to make iced lattes. I also just bought a Toddy, but haven't had a chance to try it out yet. It's a cold brew system that makes a coffee concentrate you keep in the fridge, then when you want a cup of coffee you just add water and microwave. Seems like it'll be perfect for lattes too.

Or you can get a sugar free one at Starbucks. They've usually got cinnamon dolce, hazelnut, and vanilla. Some places call the ones with sf syrups and skim milk "skinny lattes". I thought cottage said that you could get sugar free lattes at Dunkin Donuts too. I haven't, but I remember her saying she got one there sometimes.

Hey, I noticed a couple great things today. #1, as I was walking by a mirror I realized my face is getting way thinner and #2, my body totally craves water if I don't drink any for a couple of hours. I used to go weeks if not months without drinking pure water. Scary stuff.

Thanks for all the encouragement and support everyone. I only have 1 more pound to lose before I've lost 1/2 of the weight I set out to get rid of. That's pretty exciting stuff!

I didn't have a lunch packed today so in a rush grabbed a southbeach frozen dinner. Turns out DH got me the pizza ones only, so I had a Ph 2 meal for lunch. It was actually pretty good but I felt a bit bad for messing up.

B - 2 scrambled eggs w/ ff milk and 2 peices bacon
S - 30 pistachios
L - southbeach pizza
S - string cheese
D - top sirloin steak, 1 shrimp, side salad w/ ranch
DST - NSA fudgecicle

Hi gals,

Doing good too. A few days of behaving and one or two cheating episodes but I'm still doing better than I was a few weeks ago. I haven't weighed in, hopefully if I can get a new scale this weekend I'll be able totell ya how much I've lost. I'll be moving into phase 2 this week, so we'll see how that adventure goes!

B: lite n fit yogurt, green tea
L: salad, chicken breast, and a sinful breadstick
D: beans, skirt steak w/ salsa, whole wheat tortilla

Yeah! I've lost 10# in 20 days. I'm so excited. Really helps you stay motivated. Now I just need to keep adding fruit back in and exercise more.

L - huge chef salad w/ italian
D - 1 peice chicken veggie pizza made w/ whole wheat crust
