Samadhi - I find I am "eliminating less" - perhaps because I am eating less too???
April Snow - well done on your great loss. You are doing brilliantly and I am in awe of your willpower!
Having a foodie but non-eating weekend. Made loads of chutney (which I can't eat) and pumpkin soup for dinner (which I will eat as it is a PV day) - I used the recipe from the Dukan book and pepped it up a bit with some coriander and cinnamon.
Hi every1, starting the attack phase of the Dukan diet 2mr...wanna lose weight and achieve target weight by xmas..... great to see d dukan has worked for lots of people but just wondering did u all do alot of exercise while also on the dukan diet...because my problem is I work very long hours and by d time I finish work I dont have d energy for d gym...I walk alot during the day so hoping this mite be enuf??!!
Flora37 & April: It's me thinking it should be more. I am going to try adding the wheat bran that Dr. Dukan suggests and see if that helps.
eire22 I do walk 30 min and do weights 5 days a week for sure. I am going to step it up because I want to get my muscles in shape.
I do know what you mean about long hours. I get up at 4AM and don't get home again until 6:30PM....makes for a long day, but I also know I feel better when I do exercise more.
Well, I am ready for the week - food wise - and feel pretty good about that. Most organized I have been in a while.
eire22 - welcome!
I just take a brisk walk around my town every lunchtime for about 20 minutes. At weekends I tend to try to get more exercise.
It's working for me.
Flora

Just going to introduce myself. I started the Attack Phase of the Dukan diet 6 days ago and part of my success already has been this forum. With your recipe ideas, shared frustrations and motivation of each other, and seeing all your success has made this lurker a) decide to join the forum & b) stick to the diet!
I made the brilliant decision of starting the diet two days before my TOM and during Thanksgiving (Canadian) so have had some definite challenges. I did have some wine last night but still managed to be down a tiny bit today as I stuck to the food best I could. Basically starting cruise phase but sneaking in two days of PP to make up for the wine.
Ok - that's me peeps! Thanks again for being here!
CanuckJ as you have seen we love our Dukan. I actually prefer the Attack Phase...I have been a vegitarian most of my life so maybe my body thinks "enough vegies already"!!!
I am like Samadhi, I don't mind the Attack/PP days. I do like veggies and I enjoy my PP days, but I also like the days where I get to be lazy and not have to cook the veggies. But instead of thinking I am lazy, I get to think of myself as being committed to staying on plan! lol!
Hey everyone, thanks for the warm welcome! One quick question - how do you find you appetites on this diet? I noticed a few saying they don't feel hungry like on most diets but do you feel hungry at all? The last two days I haven't felt hungry at all and had to force myself to eat 3 meals. I would have been happy with 1 but I know that is not healthy to skip meals either.
In the past due to stress and such I have gone without food for days because I wasn't hungry but I'm not stressed now at all. So yah, just wondering if anyone else had this issue? Also any ideas to get back to a healthy appetite? I like the food and the spices I have been eating and have been getting good selection too.
It's not the worst problem to have but I really really want this to be the last diet I ever do and move towards a truly healthy lifestyle!
I still had an appetite the first few days but after that, it dropped a LOT, and I still find that most days, it's still pretty low. I have some days when I'm hungry but they are the exception.
My typical PV day is generally around 800-1000 calories and PP days are more around 800, even below occasionally. Unless I have a steak, which is about once a week. Still lean and on plan, but more calories than I have most days. However, I find that when I'm feeling a bit draggy, that really helps me feel better mentally and physically. Not that I am counting calories but I sometimes put them into Fitday out of curiosity. And that is eating as much food as I want.
I would say to not worry too much about it at this point - don't force yourself to eat but eat any time you are hungry and your body will adjust so that you are eating more consistently soon, but it may still be smaller amounts and not as often if you used to eat 3 meals plus several snacks.
CanuckJ glad you brought this up because I have worried some over my NO, ABSOLUTlY NO appetite...ever.
There have been days on the weekend when I don't have a routine that I have gone most of the day without eating and still have to "decide" to eat but it's because I know I should not that I feel hungry.
I have decided it's the protein and I am much more consciences to get my water in. I drink a lot of water - just ask my bladder!!
So, I don't think on this diet it is unusual to keep feeling satisifed. I do make sure I eat three times a day - well, maybe I goof up on that on weekends sometimes....I have cut my portions down also lately.
There were times when I ate that I just physically couldn't eat the portion on my plate...GOOD sign I think!!!
Breakfast: a serving of oat bran made into a porridge (cinnamon, sweetener and a dash of milk). On weekends, I make a gallette
Lunch: either homemade chicken soup with 1 1/3 thigh worth of the meat (I buy packs for 4 thighs and get three portions out of it). on PV days, I have some cooked broccoli in the soup, on PP days, it's just the broth and the meat. Or I have 6-8 oz of sliced low salt deli roast beef or ham, sometimes with a couple of Laughing Cow wedges and sliced cucumber.
Snack: a couple of hard boiled eggs - usually 1 whole and 1 just the white.
Supper: things like homemade (on plan) beef and broccoli, spaghetti squash with meat sauce, chicken with roasted eggplant; a salmon burger with a homemade yogurt and cucumber sauce (a generous portion of that, not just a little dollop).
I used to sometimes have an evening snack of sugar free jello or occasionally an extra serving of oat bran, but that's extremely rare at this point because I am not usually hungry to eat anything more after supper.
Thanks April for all them ideas because Im on my 3rd day of the Attack Phase and I literally have just been eating chicken the last 3 days!! Im not very creative with fool (obviously) but I dont seem to have d time either today was the first day I actually had time to make a galette!! any other quick simple ideas???? stil on Attack diet for another few days!! Also I am hoping to lose about 20pounds on this diet so how many days should I actually be doing the Attack Phase for?xxxxxxx
Hope everyone is having a good week! Today marks 7 weeks of Dukan and 28lbs down! I love that I'm not miserable or constantly wishing I could eat foods off plan. I picked up a burger, fries, and a shake for my teenage son last night for dinner and didn't even flinch at not ordering for myself. Every day I'm amazed at my will power.
Have you seen this website. mydukandiet .com (sorry not allowed to post links on this site yet) Its pretty awesome for food ideas and suggestions. It also clearly marks what you can have during each phase and what you can't. I double checked a few recipes against the actual Dukan Diet book and so far haven't seen any discrepancies.
I haven't followed a recipe exactly (I tend to switch stuff up too much to follow recipes) but I did use the idea of the "cookie" to make a pseudo wrap instead and had a wonderful tuna salad "sandwich". Made my life.
First day of veggies for me - super stoked as I love veggies but to be honest I rarely cook veggies, love my veggies raw, so not so much work either which is a nice bonus
