I use the 2 TBS in one gallette - I have a small frying pan that works perfectly to make a single pancake that size.

but if I am having extra because I'm hungry, it's probably going to be at a different time so I would have a second gallette or a separate serving of porridge. Or I sometimes use some in cooking, instead of breadcrumbs. (so that counts as my tolerated food)

Thanks, April...I was worried I couldn't do that...I thought maybe 4 tbls of oat bran in one day was too much

OR can you have enough oat bran???

Oat bran is one of these things that even if I ever stopped doing Dukan, I can't see stopping eating it (not that I plan on stopping Dukan - I am riding this train all the way to Stabilization!!). But it's just a food I would want to keep in my diet now, and I have gotten a few people I know who are not on Dukan to start eating it too because it's so convenient and tasty.

As for too much - the thing with the tolerated foods (the extra oat bran, some fat free cocoa powder, etc) is that if you feel like your loss has slowed or stalled, then you need to eliminate them and see what happens. I don't have tolerated foods every single day - maybe 3 or 4 times a week I guess depending on what I cook. So far I am still happy with the rate I am losing but if I felt it was slowing down too much, I would go back to following the more strict version of 100 foods.

Great advice April Snow!!

I'm also one who eats more oat bran than I should ... I have 1 1/2 spoons as a porridge at breakfast and 1 1/2 spoons in a pancake most evenings with my dinner as I feel then that I am getting some kind of carbs in .... it is filling me up and I'm not tempted to have something later in the evening which has always been my downfall.

I bought mixed spice to try in the porridge instead of cinnamon so will try that tomorrow for a change.

Now on day 5 of Attack (second time around) and feeling great except the inside of my mouth feels quite dry even with all the additional water I'm drinking ... think that is normal though ... brushing my teeth loads to help!

I'm here to confess! I fell off the wagon on attack day five! My fault totally i did not stock up on enough chicken and bits to make it through the week. That or i just ate way tooooo much off it during the first couple of days coz i was starving. I don't live by any shops and i don't drive so it was impossible for me too carry on at this point. But i have just been shopping and stocks up for the week. I bought waaaaay more than enough so no excuses now. Starting again tomorrow and for good this time! I WILL DO THIS!!!

Roxie -

good for you for getting yourself right back in there. Do NOT worry about eating "too much" during Attack. As long as it's on plan foods, the amount is fine. After a little while, you won't be as hungry (that's one of the big benefits of eating very low carb) and the amount of food you eat will most likely drop a lot. But IMO, it's a KEY part of this plan to go ahead and eat if you are hungry.

And then the other important thing, as you've already discovered, is planning ahead. Try to pre-cook food too, so that there is something readily available to eat quickly if you need to. I like to keep hard boiled eggs, cold cooked chicken and/or low sodium deli meats around all the time.

Hello Everyone,

Roxie glad you're getting back on track, that's all we can do. We make mistakes, have set backs and there will many through out your/our journey. But with 3FC's sincere supporters it's truly easy to come back and pick ourselves up. I'm officially starting over yet again on Tuesday. Best of luck to us all. Have a wonderful weekend.

down 1.8 lb for the week. And this was my 15th week on Dukan. It's FLOWN by so quickly!

I'm really ramping up my activity this month. I've done the walking but not as focused as it should be. So this month, I am doing Walk Away the Pounds or a comparable exercise program every day.

Check my new ticker for this 30/30 committment! I'm hoping that I'll see a big difference on the scale too!

Allimac1: I just love the Galette's - I could probably just live off off those!

roxiebelle0203: I am like you and have to make sure I plan my food well. I am thinking of getting a small freezer so I can buy more chicken and turkey to have on hand.

Rennie: Good reminder that even if we get off track to hop on 3FatChicks for support.

April: Congrats on the 1.8 loss.

Well, I am having trouble.

I have absolutly no desire to eat my vegies...so of course, that means I don't when I should on Cruise.

I am hoping my confession will get me on the right track....

I also think I am addicted to Oat Bran!!!!! I really look forward to when I can have it.

Maybe it's just that my body is so happy I am forcing it into better health.

Here's to weight loss week!

Samadhi -

I don't know if this will help but I typically do 3 PV days followed by 4 PP days. (I will add an extra PV day if needed, if I go out to dinner and want to feel less conspicuous by not ordering something that is protein only!)

I usually cook a nice veggie dish - like roasted eggplant or something else I enjoy and have the same thing for all 3 PV days.

Maybe something like that would be an easier schedule for you and make it easier to fit the veggies into your life?

And I'm addicted to oat bran too! How did we ever life without it?? lol!

I like that idea....due to my job I have to eat lunch out a few times a month and have been getting Chicken Salad which I am okay with...however for sum dumb reason I never like MAKING chicken salad. By Chicken salad I mean lettuce with pieces of chicken in it - NOT the kind you put on a sandwich with mayo in it!!

I know what you mean also on the "conspicuous by not ordering something that is protein only". I have avoided telling anyone I am doing this because I don't want to hear the "that's NOT healthy" for you because I know some will say that. I don't need the added "harrassment" while enjoying Dukan.

I learned when I was a Vegitaian - people will always try to change you fi they don't approve but if I said, "I don't like that", they would just leave me alone!!! Funny .....

Thanks for the tip, April.

I have had the same experience. In particular, people go crazy if you say that you can't eat fruit! I try to avoid getting into a discussion as much as possible, but I also find it helps if I just say that I'm not eating fruit right now vs. saying I can't eat it. If they push the issue, I might say something like "the plan I'm on is based on keeping your blood sugar steady all the time and even though fruit is healthy, it does affect your blood sugar." Most people will drop it after that.

There have been a small group of us doing it. My husband has called a halt, as he's lost too much (he has a physical job vs. my "sit at a desk on my butt" job). However, the 2 other ladies doing this with me and I are sharing a whole lot of the same issues/experiences. For whatever reason as we just hit the 1 month mark, we just hit the craving wall. My friend made the "oopsie roll" recipes and ate them all at one sitting. This past weekend was just awful. I DID binge and get some fat free, sugar free TCBY. After a week-long plateau plus monster cravings, I just couldn't take it. The funny thing was that the next day I was down 1.5 lbs. Go figure.
We are entering birthday season here, and I have to acknowledge there will be some binging. I figure I'll do what the good doctor suggests in his book and just follow up any transgressions with a couple of days of PP. While I know it's not ideal, I figure it's the best thing to do. Has anyone else had a similar experience with that?
