Rennie:I would eat oat bran three times a day….Who knew it was so good????
April, do you have a special Chicken Soup recipe? The only way I know to get flavor is to add salty bouillon…NOT an option on Dukan.
I totally agree with your “I spend a lot less time thinking about food. I get hungry, I eat, I move on”. The less time I have to think about or mess around with food the easier it is.
Nancy, the people on another thread that I'm on have tried the noodles and didn't like it at all, so best of luck with it. Not sure if it was their preparation or not, they said it was gummy, pasty I think. Weekends are typically my issue also, but I think my best bet will be to make weekends PP days only especially since I am in and out a lot. I also log into MFP daily and my calories have gotten better but they are still not the 1400 my doctor told me to eat and not the 1450 that MFP says I should have.
I'm thinking, since they advertised zero calories and no wheat, I may just give it a try... may have to wait for the next pay day... lol... I messed up two Saturdays in a row... lose two, gain one.... I must stop the vicious cycle, or it will take me forever to make it to my goal weight, that I pledge to get to on the Thanksgiving Challenge thread.

Thanks April, I read that today. So I kind of knew I'd see an up on the scale, but I still don't like it I have the book from the library, but went to Border's today and bought my own, yay now I can keep notes in it. Congratulations on your 100 Day Anniversary
Larva, congrats on the 13lbs down I love crabs, my daughter and I ate there once quite pricy. We do better going to get a half bushel umm so good Now I want seafood
Roxie, beautiful baby by the way. I put our oldest in a pumpkin costume 4 years in a row, I remember her saying, Mommy I don't want to be a pumpkin anymore. Sorry about the carb flu. I'm just hungry tonight. Have a horrid lunch at Ryan's so now I want to eat . Hope your headache goes away
Samadhi, I would too, if I thought it wouldn't cause a gain I would eat it right now for sure . I really need to get some menu ideas. I picked up 3 low carb books from the library gonna go through them tomorrow and copy the ones that fit.
Nancy I think on the Thanksgiving Thread I want to get to 150 finally, I sure hope I can come close We can do it, we will do it. No more crazy weekends
I haven't logged in since the end of June as I didn't have much access to the internet over the past few months. I had lost a stone on Dukan but started back on carbs at the start of July but I was doing loads of exercise and found I couldn't sustain it without them.
Back on track since Monday .... had put on 7 lbs but now 4 of them are gone so I am delighted!!!! Really, really bad headache since Monday though .. worse withdrawals than the first time I did Dukan ....
Looking forward to catching up with you all.
ps. I am now back on the oat bran for breakfast with cinnamon and I am loving it!!!!
Littlebluecat, I bought shirataki noodles about a month ago and I quite enjoyed them. I didn't find them to be that smelly tbh. The gummyness is an issue, but I kind of cooked them to death: rinsed them in hot water under the tap, and then boiled them in the microwave, and then cooked them with my mince. I used them to make a spaghetti bolognese... or shirataki bolognese lol. I think one time I got it so that they were soft like pasta, but I've not managed it yet. I definitely recommend them, though! It's so nice to even pretend you're eating pasta!
Allimac, welcome back! It's awesome that you've lost 11lb already, so you'll be back on track in no time at all
April, congrats on your anniversary! I'm on day 79. I always get people saying "OMG so when was the last time your had bread?!" and I'm like "12th June" and it sounds so crazy!
As we know I am doing the C25K, and I have a non-stop 20min run looming over this week, which I am really nervous about... I've never ran that far in my entire life. After my plateau (AGAIN) I've been on attack this week, and really kicking my butt at the gym, so hopefully I'll see some change on weigh in day on friday. I'm going to NYC for 2 weeks in october, and I am DESPERATE to buy some really lovely clothes. I stay with my friend who I last saw in March and I was 180lb, and she has no idea that I'm dieting and she is going to DIE. So excited!
Hi Allimac, nice to meet you. Glad you are back. Good job on the 4lbs down Sorry about the headaches. I love the oat bran also.
Yossarian, good for you on the C25K. I have said for over a year now that I would try it and have yet to do so. How often do you plateau? Have you noticed any type of pattern like after so many days/a week? I would love to see your friends face when she sees you.
April[/B], do you have a special Chicken Soup recipe? The only way I know to get flavor is to add salty bouillon…NOT an option on Dukan.
I take 4 large chicken thighs and stick them in a pot of water with a couple of carrots, some celery and an onion plus a little salt, a garlic clove or two or powdered garlic and pepper. Bring to a boil and then turn down to simmer for a couple of hours. I skim the top as it cooks, and then once it's done, I put the whole pot into the fridge, so I can skim off the rest of the fat once it's cooled. I take out the veggies, I just don't lilke the way they taste or the textuer after being cooked that long but you could eat them on PV days. I take the chicken meat off the bones and portion it all out into 3 Tupperware soup containers I have and that's lunch for 3 days. Usually, i have it for PV days, so I cook up some fresh broccoli and add that to the soup in place of noodles. (Not in the soup - steamed separately). If you were really ambitious you could make chicken stock and use that as a base and it would be super rich, but this works for me.
I had read up a fair amount on this before I started because that has always been a HUGE issue for me when I've tried low carb in the past. I started taking extra vitamin supplements - potassium and magnesium were some. Between that and the oat bran, I did much better than normal on low carb induction. Low energy the first few days and not feeling 100% but not so awful that I stopped the plan completely within the first day or two, which is what usually happened in past low carb attempts.
And a confession - I didn't do the 20 minutes a day walking during Attack. I just wanted to make it through the week and then worry about adding in extra activity (I did my normal running around, just not any purposeful walking)

I'm much more encouraged! Thanks Yossarianlives, I do believe I'll give them a try
Hi everyone.
How do you deal with the truly serious and gnarly cravings? After 4 weeks of very little problems, today has been simply brutal. I just stared at a jar of peanut butter for about 10 minutes. It would be so easy to just have some this once....or maybe have one cheat day a week. But I simply can't justify that in my head. Wish I could.
This is so much like quitting smoking!! I guess at least with this you eventually get to have some of the foods you once enjoyed again. Today is just a bad day. Too bad we can't have unlimited oat bran. That would help.
you can have extra oat bran. Not unlimited, but up to 2 extra servings a day. He specifically recommends it to help with cravings. Mine were not too bad but I did have some in the beginning and the extra oat bran definitely helped.
Hi Ladies, I am back on the Attack phase. I had a horrible eating (evening) yesterday and went way overboard. But I've been pretty on track today. I did have the topping off of two slices of pizza tonight. I know it's a no no and I am hoping that each day gets better. Today wasn't nearly as bad as yesterday, so hopefully tomorrow will be totally OP. Wish me luck.
Oh due to my lack of focus and discipline I started this month off with a 2lbs sodium gain.
April thanks for the reminder again about the additional oat bran. I think I just need to see things often.
Also do any of you use or have any of you used textured vegetable protein before? I used in my chili yesterday in the place of beans and it's pretty filling and it took on the flavor of the chili, which I liked.
On Cruise, with 2 tbls of oat bran, if you have more than one galette do you use 2 tbls per galette or do you divy the oat bran up between the number you eat?
