Lost 1lb overnight, taking me to 9. That's 4 days' Attack and 7 days Cruise.

I always had planned to do another 4 days' Attack on the 1st of the month, maybe I'll convert to 4 PP and 3 PV alternating.

Nearly 10lbs off now, that's not bad in 12 days.
6lbs in 4 Attack, 4lbs in 8 Cruise.

The best thing is absolutely no carb cravings whatsoever!
Last night I made some food for a church social today. The dessert was a "Chocolate Eclair Pudding", which is layers of digestive biscuits (Graham crackers), layered with vanilla and butterscotch pudding, topped with melted chocolate covering. It's sitting there in the fridge at the moment, making lewd gestures at me - but I'm not even tempted. Partly, I don't have the physical craving, partly I'm afraid of it, because one taste and I'd be hurtling down the carb chute again.

Hope you're all doing well.

good job on the loss, Rosinante!!

And I totally agree about the no carb cravings being amazing. I have never, ever found it this easy to stick to a diet. I put most of my energy/will power towards getting in a daily work out because staying on plan with food is pretty much second nature for me now.

eire - you Might not lose as much, re-starting so soon but it'll be a helluva lot better than Not restarting, believe me! Do it!

April - I'll tell you another unbelievable thing that happened today: after the church social, at which I ate some ham and beef, and watched everyone wolf my chili and pudding down (good, glad they liked it), I was still a bit hungry, so I ate some low fat soft cheese with a little splenda on it. There wasn't a huge amount left, so I just ate it out of the tub. About 2/3 of the way through, I'd had enough - so I put the tub down! I never can do that! I always seem to have to eat my way to the end of whatever's in front of me, like it's my right.
Interesting.

You have described exactly what has happened to me, on more than one occasion (unfortunately). Dont lose heart, as long as you are getting back on plan that is the main thing, we all have set backs but its how you deal with them that counts. I am back on attack today for the same reason, i have been bad lately and eating everything in sight. But thats no real surprise as that seems to be my pattern with ANY diet (lose a little, and get too comfortable with the knowledge that i can lose it again so go on a free-for-all binge). But i am refusing to give up on this plan, as its by far the most forgiving and the easiest to stick with -most of the time. The great thing is the weight drops of pretty quickly with Dukan, so you get a bit of instant satisfaction which is encouraging - and a lot of times when you have slipped up its mainly water weight which seems to drop off again once you hit the PP days.

As for starting again and being worried that you may not lose the same and as quickly, every one is different and you may surprise yourself. I find i lose at pretty much the same rate as previous attempts, especially when on attack. So dont fret, it wont be long and you (and me both!) will be back on track again Hope this has helped

I'm just into week 3 of the diet.
I did 4 days of Attack (6lbs), then 10 days of Cruise, alternating PP and PV daily. 3.6lbs - which has been a bit more challenging mentally, a lot of effort for not a whole lot of loss, given it's the start of a diet and given how much I've got to lose.

I promised I'd do 4 days of Attack on the 1st 4 days of every month, so I'm back in Attack today.
I've also decided that daily alternating is too complicated when it comes to the veggies - I can't afford to be wasting food but buying veg. for alternate days was doing my head in. So I'm going to do Mon-Thurs PP, and Fri-Sun PV - that gives me a little bit of scope on my day off (Fri) and any weekend things that come up, to be able to eat socially and sociably.
We'll see!

I am pleased to report that I had a big whoosh since Sunday and was down another 3.2 lbs, taking me to Onederland!! I wasn't expecting it, so it was such an exciting surprise!

I sometimes do some extra PP days, although I don't consider it being Attack any more - I think the main difference is just the amt of oat bran, and I keep my extra 1/2 tbs! lol!

I thought I would do the Fr-Sun PV days but it's turned out that it's worked out easier for me to do them Sun/Mon-Tues/Wed for the most part. I have extra time to cook on Sunday so that's when I cook my veggies. But I add an extra PV meal as needed, for social events. Since I've got an extra PP day in my schedule, the extra meal here or there all seems to balance out.

eire -

I haven't gone off plan yet, but I agree with jen, getting back on track is the way to go. Even if you don't lose quite as much as the first time around, you will keep losing if you stick with it.

I do my PV days Saturday Sunday and Monday and the rest PP, it makes it much easier for the weekend when i am usually doing something socially with friends (and we have family dinners every Monday night). It is asparagus season at the moment so i have been loading up on grilled asparagus and slow roasted tomatoes with just about every meal on my PV Days. Absolute bliss!

Speaking of absolute bliss, I thought i would share a yum recipe which is actually a Nigella Lawson recipe which i have 'Dukanified'

Beef Skewers with horseradish dip:

500g beef rump
11/2 x 15ml tablespoons of good-quality red wine vinegar or balsamic vinegar
3 x 15ml tablespoons freshly grated horseradish or hot horseradish sauce or cream
2 x 15ml tablespoons rosemary needles (or 1 teaspoon dried rosemary), plus 1 bunch rosemary for garnish (optional)
60ml olive oil
2 x 15ml tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
200g Yoghurt
1/2 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1/4 teaspoon Maldon salt or generous pinch of table salt
4 x 15ml tablespoons chopped chives

Cut the beef into 2.5cm cubes, and put into a freezer bag with the vinegar and 1 tablespoon of the freshly grated horseradish or 1 tablespoon hot horseradish sauce. Add the 2 tablespoons of fresh rosemary (or 1 teaspoon of dried), and the olive oil, Worcestershire sauce and port. Leave for at least 20 minutes, but preferably overnight, in the fridge.
Let the meat come to room temperature, and soak about 10 bamboo skewers in water at the same time.
Make the dip, by beating together the yoghurt, the remaining 2 tablespoons of freshly grated horseradish or 2 tablespoons hot horseradish sauce, the Dijon mustard, salt and the chives, leaving some chives to sprinkle over the top.
Heat a grill or griddle, then thread 3 or 4 pieces of meat onto each skewer and slap on the heat, turning after 2 minutes. Cook for another 2 minutes on the other side and then remove to a plate, strewn with some sprigs of rosemary if desired. Do not serve while grill-hot.

I made this and a lovely salad to go with it (for my partner to enjoy) and was simply divine.

I hope you enjoy

The mental struggle continues. I have 'gained' 1.2lbs overnight, after probably the most perfect PP day ever. Only protein, tons of water.
My ankles are bonily bereft of water and I can overlap finger and thumb round my wrist: I don't believe I'm holding excess water. So what is it?

I had soy yogurt and bran for breakfast.
I had mixed lean meat cold cuts for lunch, and for a small afternoon snack.
I had Dukan Mustard Chicken for dinner.
I had a 35 minute walk.

Honestly, I couldn't have got Dukanier. Humph.

Rosinate, have you considered not weighing in daily? I switched to weighing once per week (after my PP days) as i found that the little fluctuations like you are describing were way too frustrating for me, which caused me to become a bit negative, especially when i had been following the plan to a T. At first, i was afraid to change as i do like 'seeing' my progress daily and thought it was imperative to keep me on track. But since deciding to weigh in less frequently, i almost feel a bit of freedom from constantly obsessing over the numbers. Now that i have that monkey off my back i am happy just concentrating on eating right and getting my daily exercise and water intake.

And the weight is well known on Dukan to fluctuate a bit - up down, up a wee bit down a wee bit more - but over time it is cumulative, so either way you will lose. But i personally just couldnt handle it when the number would jump up for no apparent reason, it would almost derail me!

So thats what works for me, it may not for you but either way, try not to let it get you down, and just concentrate on the fact that you had a flawless Dukan day and sooner or later that will show up on the scale too!

Sometimes my weight goes up, esp. during my PV days, but I've learned my pattern. And it's not that there is always a whoosh immediately on my first PP day, it takes 2-3 days for me usually. So I've learned to disassociate the food I ate any particular day from what I expect on the scale the next day, as they do not always correlate.

I don't generally track my weight at any time other than my weekly WI. Aside from a special event, like hitting Onederland yesterday, I only change my tracker once a week and consider Sunday my official WI day. Measuring progress week over week definitely helps me to see the overall trend, and I am happy with that, even if there are ups and down over the course of a single week.

And I definitely agree with Jen that sooner or later, those good days show up on the scale, if you keep going! 3 weigh-ins ago, my weight was up 3.6 lbs. There was no reason for it. I did have one tiny detour off plan - 2 funsize bags of M&Ms but my weight was already up almost 3 lbs when I had those, so I know they were not the real cause. I hung in there - at the next WI, I was down 3 lbs but still .6 above where I had been. Then the next week, I lost 4 lbs. And just 2 days later, I had another whoosh of 3.2 lbs, which is what took me into Onederland. What that means to me is that even though the scale showed that increase of 3.6 a couple of weeks ago, I was in fact continuing to lose weight all along, and the 7.6 lbs I "lost" in 9 days really was including weight I lost during the time where the scale was out of synch for me. So my advice is to definitely hang in there and try to look at progress over a larger period of time than overnight. If you stay on plan, this plan really does work!

I come and go about daily weighing, I like to keep track.

I'm doing it at the moment because P. Dukan says you should, in order to see the daily swift losses his diet guarantees, hence my tetchiness.
