  • Jen - So glad you popped in - have missed you!
Yeah - about smoking - my mom doesn't even know I ever smoked..... When I went to CA in April, we smoked and drank like wild women.....but in public sober - I would never want anyone to see me..... Anyhow it has been one week and 3 days now - I'm feeling really good about it. I guess as long as I never drink again I'll be fine.....

Good for you with you walking and five miles is pretty serious . Sounds like you really enjoy it, like me - I workout fat, thin or inbetween - just love it

    Well Jen - don't be a stranger!
  • Gym this a.m. - cardio - treadmill 45 minutes.......
  • Cardio...10 minutes...WOOHOO....
  • Gym this a.m. - cardio and abs....oh rah!
The counslor at COD did mention today, after talking with me about my goal weight, that she couldn't see how I weigh as much as I do.. I told her I think it has to do with years and years of working out. You know that old wise tale that muscle weighs more than fat.....lol
Another cool thing, she took my measurements, last time was 4/25/05. Anyhow I lost 4.75 inches since then. The only thing I can contribute that too is that I started taking the TriMaxPlus and the FB500's. Ofcourse sometimes I forget but, other than the pills I can't think of anything else I do differently. I think I will continue the pills.
    Also was down a tad....whoo-hoo
  • Weights at the gym today and abs.....I'm concentrating again on my arms. I have noticed that when I really work them, they respond. My DH took a picture of me on my Harley and I had my arms streached out to handle bars and to my surprise there were no wings of flab underneath.......whoo-hoo.....
Tomorrow is cardio.....and abs (trying to work the abs really good before my vacation)
It sure would be alot easier if I were rich, I know there's a faster way to accomplish the look I want.....lol
  • Star...
  • Star I know how you feel.. Theres some little shots that melt it away but it costs the same as lipo.. woohoo I made it thru the 7am deep tone class this morning... Im calling it my bootcamp now, since she kept standing over me barking at me... but thats ok I told her I have 3 months to change now.. Anyway deeptone this was the first week of the new routine and its a toughie 3 more to go.. My plans are to do a little treadmill and the easy step tape the rest of the week.. I'll either get skinny or die trying
  • Beth - I hear ya - My goal (as known to almost everyone here) is to get in great shape prior to being dropped off at the nursing home....so I can be the aerobics instructor....
  • Now that sounds like a plan... Old men doing aerobics woo baby... I think Id rather be the fit old lady in a class with a yummy young guy as the instuctor... omg I think the workout this morning went to my brain or maybe it was the lemon lite...
  • And.....
My DH is gonna run the juice bar
  • Cardio was yesterday, with abs........love cardio days!
Today was weights with abs .......went really good, love lifting too.........
Only problem, everytime one body part starts to show real improvement, I find another one that needs attention - when will this stop? I guess since I love to workout anyhow it's all good.
  • #1 Way to speed up your Metabolism
Read this article in "Fitness" magizine this morning at the gym (cardio day).....

    In a nutshell, they put four women on different methods of workout/nutritonal plans to see which method supercharged metabolism. The program lasted eight weeks. Here where the four different plans;
    *The Strength Plan
    *The Cardio Plan
    *The Nutrition Plan
    *The Strength/Cardio Plan

Note: Since diet is a vital part of the metabolic equation, each woman alsor worked with a dietician (for weight maintenance, consume the same number of calories as your TMR each day).

    The Winner - The Strength/Cardio Combo -
The plan: Cardio 30 to 40 minutes three to four times a week. Weight lifting 2 times a week (alternate body parts).
She boosted her metabolism 61 percent, she lost inches all over and dropped her body fat by nearly 2%.

Note: It was noted at the bottom, if your already working out regularly, don't be surprised if your response isn't as overwhelming as this.

I thought this was worth posting
  • Anyone do curves?? What do you all think of it??
    Thanks
    Beth
  • Beth -
I checked Curves out just out of curiousity......I think it is good for people that are new to exercise. Also for people who haven't exercised in awhile (pregnant, sick, surgery, etc). JMO ofcourse.

Just went to COD - down one pound........
  • So do you think a reg gym would be better?? Im doing the deeptone and am seeing restults already in 3 weeks but I know I need the cardio as well... I have a 1000 dollar treadmill and I just can't seem to get on the beast... I think its because Its here at home and Im here all the friggen time looking at it... I need some 30 somethingish trainer to come crack the whip I think..

Good job on the pound by the way!
