Default Back to gym today...

Did 45 minutes cardio at the gym Felt good to get back. With the gym being closed yesterday, I was off Sat,Sun and Monday

I find that I can do 3 miles on the treadmill at 3.9 and burn around 300 calories. I could go faster, but that would put my target heart rate too fast and so I have to keep it right around 3.9 (which by the way, is fast enuf for old me.... ).

Tomorrow will be weight day, haven't decided if I will do the machines or free weights yet. I did free weights last Friday and I was sore on Sat.....

On a funny note, DH is still about starting to walk the fitness trail. I might have to force him to go with me

Bye Fit Chicks!

Well, went to the gym this morning. Did weight training, it was great! They fixed one of the machines that had been broken for awhile . It's the inner/outer thigh machine. I also noticed some progress in my back fat - it's almost gone It's little rewards like that - that keep me going

Today was cardio day - my favorite

Went on the for 45 minutes, speed 4.0, no incline, ended up doing 3 miles at 15 minute mile.....With that speed I'm pushing my target heart rate close to being too high....but 3 miles just sounds better than 2.75

Anyone else still working out My home scale was down alittle this morning, but don't want to get my hopes up for WI at COD tomorrow. Becuz we all know that anything can happen in 24 hours

Later - Fit Chicks........

Default Forgot to add this to yesterdays workout

Also, I went for a walk on the fitness trail by my apartment last night, ended up walking for 4 miles and it is a beautiful trail. I'm dragging DH out there tonight...no excuses I'm cracking the whip!

Add on - that was earlier, from another thread. Now with the upset stomach things might be leaning toward a night off, laying on the sofa - watching tv and whining so DH can hear me......

Gym this morning - circuit training/weights - went well. Added in more abs - ouch!

DH and I didn't make it to the fitness trail last night. My stomach was upset and besides that is was raining. Instead DH ordered pizza and a salad for me. I ended up having a Carb Craver meal with one piece of pizza and a salad. I'm alittle scared to go to COD today, but since Carb Craver is legal things should be fine......

I think I had too many carbs yesterday becuz, I had a 1/2 bagel with ff crm chs, 1/2 banana, toast and then the pizza. Hum? It still all fit in under the Gold Plan.

My thighs are killing me - must be that dang inner/outer thigh machine

Bottons - Even if you are sore, it will feel great to know that you did something good for your body! I love it when I can 'feel' that I've worked out.

Went to the gym this a.m., cardio day. I wanted tor look at my Cosmo so I took it alittle easier on the treadmill and slowed the speed down to 3.6 for like 30 minutes and then up to 3.8 for 15 minutes. It felt kinda good to take it easy for a change (almost like I was being bad)....lol

Tomorrow is weights. I will only go to the gym M,T,W, and Thursday this week, will miss Friday as I will be going up north for our garage sale. Knowing the missing one day now and then won't do any harm since I work out all the time - makes me feel fine with it.....

Hugs....

Buttons,

Many times the soreness is worse the day after.....But on a good note, you will stop being sore. Maybe you should try for twice a week? The trick is to rest the muscles for one day and then hit them again, ideally three times a week would be benificial.

Hmmmm well the way deep tone works is you do 1 day a week rip your muscles then you rest it for the rest of the week to allow it to heal and rebuild.. as it gets easier you add more weight to rip and cause regrowth.. Next week I'll be sore again but it will be easier to do and I will be stronger... This is a very fast program for weight loss and training ..

So how much weight do you lift to rip your muscle? I've never heard of this program before, it's called deep tone?

Im weak so I just started with 20lbs around my waist and 8lb dumbells.. when I was doing It before I was up to 40 and 20.. It also has to do with the stretches and movements that you do with the weights

Star I'm 5.91/2 I have 65 pounds to go.

The real name is "Deep tone" it started here in denver and from what I uderstand they are in a few other states now... its not in a gym .. when you first go you have to sign up to go to a beginers class it takes 6 weeks they weigh measure and teach you the moves so that you don't hurt yourself... During the reg classes you use weights that look like ankle weights but their made for your waist.. this dosen't bulk your muscles up but makes them long and lean.. During the hour the instructor tells you what movement to do and what weight (dumbell, waist weight, band Sometimes all 3) to use, she or he also pushes you to keep going and maybe pushes you to try a heavier weight if it looks to easy for you ( like a personal trainer)... they do the routine for 4 weeks then they change it to shock your body.. ok so maybe you have your waist weights on and your doing lunges well holding a dumbell on your forward thigh... or your on your back you have the waist weights (2pcs) 1 on each leg above your knees the band wrapped around both of them together and with your knees at a 45 (I think) you try to open them up... it sounds easier then it is..

Beth, No I have been working out for 35 years and that doesn't sound easy at all. My only question is if I would want to build my muscles prior to losing the weight? We have discussed this topic on here before. I do cardio and weight training with light weights. My concern would be building big muscles under the fat. Have they discussed that at all?
