Default Checking in...

Hi all! Hope everyone is doing well. There are lots of places having weather extremes this week so I pray that you have all stayed safe.

Had my weigh-in a day early and lost 4.4. I'm happy! Inching closer to my first 50 pounds gone. I would also love to be under 300 by the 4th of July but if that doesn't happen it's no big deal. I'll be there soon enough.

Welcome to the new folks and welcome back to those we have been missing! Take everything one day at a time and stay strong! You can do this.

HI All, I'm new to this and just checking in. I've never been a member of a community like this before so I am REALLY a newbie. I'm doing well on IP but haven't seen the scale budge as much these last 2 weeks as it did the first. I suppose that is normal. Everyday is a challenge but I'm doing great and staying strong. Weekends are the hardest and I do miss my wine

Stay strong, every day counts!

Hi Everybody! I'm brand new. This is day 4 on Ideal Protein and I'm feeling exhausted. That could also be from that TOM. Ugh. I'm so excited about everything I've read and you ladies seem amazing!

Welcome! When I started last month, my coach actually warned me specifically about Day 4! It's when your body feels sick and weak as it adjusts and goes into ketosis. It's a natural and important part of the process, but it's tough--especially if it's combined with TOM. Yikes! But if you can just endure this first hard week, you'll find that everything clicks. Hang in there! Glad you joined us!

Default Day 4

Day 4 was actually the hardest for me as well. In addition to no energy and feeling flu-like, I had a terrible headache for about 3 days. It seemed to come on in the evenings. 400 mg of ibuprofen kicked it every time though. No side effects since that time.

I didn't have as bad of keto-flu as I have read other's having but I REALLY the first two weeks are the hardest. For me, it was mostly mental: having to think through every meal, having to prepare my meals, having to find substitutes with eating out, having to learn strategies to deal with stress eating. After two weeks, I feel like I pretty easily got in the groove...and now it just feels like second-nature.

Default Newlife 62 Checking In

Hi Everyone! Started on Sunday June 15; as of today (Friday June 20) lost 5 pounds and 3.5 inches. Don't care if it's water or fairy dust, 5 is 5! Wish the emotions and comfort level were so exciting. I feel exhausted and redy to cry at the drop of a Kleenex. In fact, I did cry in my bosses office on Tuesday! Thank goodness my boss is a woman and a kind one at that. I ate my protein at 10:30 this morning. Could not stop the hunger pangs, even though I had my supplements and an IP orange drink for breakfast. For lunch I had romaine, about 6 aspargus spears (very small) and some Watkin's caesar dressing. Drinking lots of water too. Just teary, brain foggy, and physically exhausted. When oh when does this go away??? There is a can of cashews on my bosses desk - what will happen if I have 5-6 of them? I want something to crunch!

AZLinda - praying for safe travels for you and yours! I have no doubt you will do a wonderful IP job while on vacation. You mom-in-law will suport your health once she sees how great you look and how committed you are. I'm a mom-in-law and would certainly do that! We have similar stats (I'm 5'4" and start weight of 210) so I watch your skinny meter all the time...except I'm LOTS older than you are! Ha!

Read the label fir the calories. Fat and carb content. I almost caved on peanuts thinking that at least I was getting protein and then I read the label. Wasn't worth it.

Hey Newlife -- look at the BRIGHT side. The emotions are from the estrogen that is being released because you're burning belly fat! Every time you feel teary, tell yourself you are "grieving" as you say goodbye to more fat. Maybe that will cheer you up!
This diet DOES increase estrogen levels -- that's why they warn about increased pregnancy risk. It would be ironic that we lose our big belly from fat in exchange for a (of course, some of us would love that too! LOL)

Good middle of the night. I just started IP yesterday and thought this would be helpful. I am excited to get going, but know I will have some down days and could use some help. It looks like you have all had some great success and I am hoping to follow.
