Week One weigh in was 4.8 pounds - I'm slightly disappointed because it was soooooo hard and I didn't cheat. However, I've promised myself I'll keep going so I'm going to do so. Still loving the chocolate shakes made into a smoothie with ice, and I loved the southwest chip things. Going to try the chocolate pancakes tomorrow. Good luck all!

I'm starting my week #4, down 16lbs …. feeling great. Still not over my 'food fantasies' but happy to report i've not acted on any of them.:dizzy: Each day I get up and my food is simple and easy … this weekend my only concern is getting my water in as i'll be out most of the day … and 'potty' breaks can be a nuisance :o I love this program, have been on every diet in the book and FINALLY have found something that really resonates with me .. Enjoy your weekend everyone. :bravo::cheer3::cheer2::broc: |
I'm still working to love it like everyone else - I do love lots of the food but I HATE how restrictive it feels - that you can't even have a nibble of something yummy. Maybe I'll learn to love it - I hope so.

Had I looked at it as super restrictive, I'd never have lasted this long. |
Hello! I just found this site tonight. I started IP yesterday. Thinking of it as the highway to healthy. I know I'm going to need encouragement because I have a long, 110 lb road to travel and a family who loves to cook and eat. Looking forward to meeting others on the same journey.

Back from my trip to Paris. Stayed OP for the most part except for when I was on the plane and the food had this sauce in it and I couldnt get anything else. I guess its not the end of the world. Its TOM time so I am sure I will gain a little or not loose much this week

Weekends are awful!
So glad I found this forum. New to IP, on day 4! Headaches are finally dissipating. Love reading everyone's posts, thanks all for sharing!!! Can't wait for weekend to be over with so I can get out of this metal torture...not hungry...just nonstop thinking of food. A least during the week I am way to busy to be concerned, haha. Thanks again to everyone just sharing your updates, nice to read I'm not alone in this.

Week one weigh in !
Hi all
Week one weight loss 7lb's. Everyday was hard to stay on track though I don't fel hungry just crazy tired and foggy. Keep on going. I split my 8 0z of meat or fish between lunch and dinner and this really has helped. Dull headaches are starting to subside but it really does feel like a detox with body and mind craving thoses carbs! I hope everyone is doing OK? Selly |

We are SO USED to overeating and eating while bored. Do you have a project to busy yourself with? I just noticed your goal weight. That is awfully close to underweight according to the BMI (right on the line). Is that your plan? |

I was 260 last year beginning of August. I like "healthy highway". I've considered mine a journey to regain health (very similar concept). I found I needed to start packet hack recipes from the get-go and it has kept me going all this time. My favorites involve: +adding veggie purees to soups (makes them palatable for me) +adding spinach to morning chocolate smoothies +making zucchini muffins (recipe in Recipes #4) or breadsticks +making cauliflower pancakes for snacks when "starving" +eating all of my veggies during the day and having a huge salad with my meat on top for dinner I learned I don't need this to be a race. The tortoise won the race, not the hare! Since there is no turtle icon for the weight tracker, I put a snail there instead. Same concept :) The biggest thing for me was sticking with the people sticking to protocol 100%. I lurked in the 100% thread for a month before I trusted myself to post there. I failed at so many diet attempts, it took that long for me to trust that this one would be different. I got so I couldn't even read about cheats...didn't want the concept to enter my mind. It has sure worked! Much success to you! |
Thanks, Lisa! You are a great inspiration! I've already been splitting my veggies and protein into different parts of the day. I love to cook so adding some variety while sticking to the protocol is the kind of challenge that's right up my alley. I'm still withdrawing from the carbs. I made the herb & cheese omelette this morning and added some asparagus and mushrooms to it. I was wishing an English muffin was part of the package too. Lifelong habits are hard to break, but if I want my lifelong to continue into long life then letting go of the taste of the moment is worth it. Time for a stroll in the sunshine! Wishing everyone a day of success and little victories!:hat:

I am restarting on Oct 1. Still have some garden corn and beets to eat! Lol
I lost 30 lbs earlier this year following IP using alternatives. I gained 21 back this summer but darn it was a good one. Bahaha! Oh well... Back to the beginning! For anybody who has restarted after a period of being off, do you lose slower the second go around? Just wondering! |

What is normally in everyone's salad that they fix? Obviously we're a lot restricted when it comes to what we can have in them so I'd really appreciate some suggestions.
I went to the Cheesecake Factory and it was incredibly, incredibly hard. I love cheesecake and my whole family got everything they wanted and I felt deprived but what kept me from cheating was saying, "One day you will be able to enjoy that piece of cake." So I didn't cheat and I didn't cheat this whole weekend when they ordered pizza and everything. I've kept trucking on and honestly it feels amazing to say that I haven't let one bite of anything that isn't in my normal plan in my mouth. |
