Good to know. I've been measuring raw. I've also been using Soy sauce to flavor my veggies. no more than a few drops. I read that it was okay.

Well, I passed my first outing milestone! Had a cookout with family today, and I made a salad for the normal people and made a salad for me - using a whole cucumber really makes the other 2 cups of veggies seem like an enormous amount of food! LOL! But I was able to resist the cider, the cookies and even the amazing food my in-laws and other family brought!

I've decided to be transparent with others about this diet - I need accountability, and it's actually interesting to hear how others have changed their eating habits. I know this doesn't work for everyone, so please understand that my choice to share with others is not a commentary on others' decisions to keep it quiet. ;)

new IP September member

Just made it first week IP along with husband and daughter. It is nice to have household support for the journey since I am chief cook and bottle washer. We are going to go to weigh-in today and after post a family weekly weight loss total. Me, I have been through two previous weight loss surgeries and not able to lose past 220, now back to 245. Joined IP with goal to get back to good eating habits like I should have been doing after surgery. Also need to get weight off for benefit of knees otherwise I am headed for a knee replacement.

P.S. Just had first weigh-in for first week. 3 inches and 7.8 lbs

Hello All

Great news week 2 weigh in down another 2.4 pounds altogether 5.8 in two weeks which is excellent. I am in Paris right now for work and so proud for keeping OP thus far. I will need all the encouragement I can get. When I pass by pastry shops and see so much wine and cheese. I keep telling myself. It will all happen in time. Its not worth derailing my efforts for short term pleasures

Discovered today that I love the chocolate shake blended with lots of ice - really yummy fast breakfast. Pancake was okay if I cooked it for a really, really long time - glad to be finding things I can eat. Phew! Down 2.9 pounds on day three.

Day 12 struggling

Just when I was feeling stronger, today has thrown me for a loop. I haven't cheated but I am finding myself drooling over foods I am passing by or smell....could it be the pack of sugar free gum I chewed? Would that take me out of ketosis? My second weigh in is on Thursday and I am not feeling great, although I have been OP...

I, too, am restarting, TODAY!! . I was down 35 pounds in Feb 2013, but have gained it all back. :(

I read on here that cooking spinach down will help a bunch. You measure it pre cooked so it obviously cooks way down. Also, anything roasted will probably cook down.

Thanks for the information!

Hi all. New here but not new to IP. 2nd go around. Lost fifty pounds and gained 30 back today was official start and 1st day here with alternatives. Love the sept. new beginnings and support. I sure need it!

I'm on day 18 and doing pretty well so far. At my second weigh-in (which was day 12), I was somewhat disappointed because I had "only" lost 6 pounds total. It wasn't until my coach pointed out that I'd been losing 1/2 pound a day - that it clicked for me. My sis, who's lost about 40 lbs since June on IP, shared that she also started out slow, but now the weight is coming off faster.
This week I don't feel like I'm losing anything though (I refuse to weigh myself at home- I will not drive my self nuts with that daily up'n'down madness again). I'm also not all that hungry. I'm finding that I no longer need the salads to feel full. In fact, sometimes I have a hard time finishing my 2 cups of veggies. I do hope it's the ketosis and that my weigh-in on Thursday will show that I'm still on track. Hang in there everybody - we can do this!

For those of you that drink wine, I've attended five parties since starting. All of them had the wine flowing and which I would previously would have indulged in...with abandon. But I've taken a bottle or two of ICE with me to very party and kept my glass filled, I don't feel that I'm missing a thing, except maybe a headache the morning after! Nobody seems to really notice either that I'm not drinking - the Crisp Apple flavor looks like a Chardonnay and is really yummy as the weather gets cooler. And the Blackberry flavor looks like a Rose and it's also tastes pretty good. I rarely drink diet soda, so I really enjoy the ICE's as a special treat at parties.

Hi! Today is day 2 of IP for me. I have 30 lbs to lose. I do not feel hungry but have had a splitting headache since 4 pm yesterday and I feel a bit nauseous. Is this sugar withdrawl? I have been trying to drink a ton of water but am having a hard time do to my belly ache.

Anyone expereince these issues?

Also, how much water do you drink?

kdspirited 09-24-2013 05:17 PM

Hello fellow IPers. Hope everyone is having a great OP day. So far so good this is my 4th day in Paris no cheats yet. Just need to make it two more days and Ill be back home and dieting in the comfort of it without all those culinary distractions from the city of lights.

Vine that would be me. I cant resist a good glass with a meal or at parties where it is free flowing a few glasses. so proud that you did well at the parties. I too have loads of events to attend in the next few months not to mention holiday parties. But I hope to be at goal by then
