I have a technical question - if you're quoting someone else's comment, how can you pull just a portion of it, not the whole thing?

Just erase part of the quote before posting, and preview it first

I will be traveling for the next two weeks for work with a winery trip in between. It will definitely be a challenge but I am ready for it!

I also have a new goal. My husband's company is sending everyone to Mexico for a vacation! So, I would really love to lose 30 more pounds before December 6, but I know that will be a challenge. I am going to try though!

Thank you everyone for your support on this board. It has helped me immensely! Make it a great Friday!

That Mexico trip sounds like a great motivation. I have to tell you, if I had to go to a winery for a weekend, I would feel deprived. BUT, after the weight you have lost I would be pretty darn motivated to keep going. You CAN do it!

I'm really curious... what did everyone do differently (if anything) the day or two leading up to starting? I know I cannot drink any wine, but I have been seriously thinking about a particular meal that I want that is high carb. I start tomorrow!

Make sure you've read everything you need to know, you can do some food prep, and make sure that you have all the tools you need to make tomorrow a successful day.

Great advice! I'm taking a trip to Sprouts in just a little bit to get all the good stuff! Also bought a food scale, microwave soup mug, water jug, lots of prepping here!

I was out of town for most of November and December and the first 9 days of January...( My daughter had a new baby right before Thanksgiving, so mimi was on call and in place for the event and helping with the 18 month old.) I started IP on Jan 10th, the first day home, although I had my set up and information apt in early December. They felt I'd be more sucessful if I waited til all the travel was done.

For all of December, I used EAS drinks for breakfast and at lunch with a salad and tried to be compliant with carbs at dinner...but did not give up wine completely until New Year's day. :nono:

My body was used to the lighter meals when I actually went 100% on plan...and I really did not go through the carb withdrawal fatigue dizzy stuff. It was pretty smooth. Now..my losses were in the 2-3 lb range and suspect I lost some weight that previous few weeks with cutting down and using EAS...but I did not capture the start weight when doing that. Only have the "official" start weigh in on Jan 10 when I went for first IP appointment. (That was bad enough!! )

Seat of my pants winging-it.LOL Out-of-the-blue stopped by a clinic after reading on the forum here for a few weeks. We just bought a new house and had torn out the kitchen, (I STILL don't have an oven for another week grrr)

I had no plan, had my first appointment on a Wednesday, dithered about starting the next Monday and spending the weekend eating junk and decided to start the next day - after all, what was I waiting for?

How was spending the weekend eating whatever I wanted going to benefit me (or let's be honest, be a change from what I did every previous weekend?)

I still don't have a plan. I am taking it day by day, but if I didn't do something, then nothing was going to change. So I jumped. (am I am NOT a jumper!)

Same here. I went for my first appointment on a Thursday and thought I'd indulge over the weekend and start monday....or maybe after the weekend the fair was in town...but I started on that Friday. I just couldn't let things get any worse and wanted to keep my momentum!

Everyday and Anyday is a a good day to START :)
IP is a great program for me, i'm into my 3rd week and I feel great. I love the simplicity of the plan, don't have to think too much about what to eat or when to eat, I know if it's not on plan it's not an option!

Not easy, just simple.

A big shout out to all of us September Babes' … this is OUR TIME

Fabulousdana - Congrats Congrats Congrats to You! 15lbs in 2 weeks that is exceptionally awesome; yay! Keep up the focus, dedication and you will be so pleased with the results you continue to get. The winery is going to be tough but listen, just keep remembering how you felt when you saw the great loss on the scale - no wine, not forever just not now. You can do it! And, it's such great motivation to have an event to work towards - that will help with the continued motivation factor, good for you. Mexico here you come!!:swim:

misslillyhansen, WAY TO GO - that's terrific, you must be so happy! Keep up the great work and you will reap the rewards from all of your hard work. It's the best feeling ever - You got this!

I am starting tomorrow. I am doing it on my own based on my friend who did the diet at her doctors and food that I am purchasing online. I am a little concerned about being hungry. Any suggestions? Are you allowed to snack other than the snack after dinner?

artzechck3 - You CAN do this! Start off on a positive foot and arm yourself with the best IP friendly friendly foods (being prepared is the key to success) and you'll be surprised at the results. I am only 5 weeks in, so I am new compared to all of the fabulous senior members you will learn from on this forum however, in this short time, I have learned that this is an "all or nothing program". Unless of course you are seeking alternate plans, of which I can not speak to. But, if you follow Phase I to a T then you will be happy with the results. It's hard, I won't lie and there will be moments that you want to succumb to the hunger pains but try your best to muscle through. Unless your coach says otherwise, it is best to stick to the 4 Cups of veggies + salad and your 3 IP packets and 8oz of protein. Just try it for a full day and if you are unsatisfied, reach out to your Coach and ask if it is okay to have an additional non-restricted IP packet. This forum is extraordinary for support and if you dig in, you will be distracted so, rely on all of us for support and we will offer you all we can. Best of luck, YOU got this if you want it!:broc:

I really hope this not feeling hungry thing stays. It's been so easy to stay on point this way because I don't feel like I want to eat anything. I just eat because it's time and sometimes I do feel a bit hungry but not starving like I normally am. This is my 6 official day on point and I feel great!

My first few weeks have been kinda up and down on the hunger/not hunger thing. It was suggested to me by my coach to have a hard-boiled egg between breakfast and lunch if I'm about to keel over from hunger - this is due largely in part to a neurological condition, but still…hunger is hunger!

Keep up the great work! Just remember that we give up a lot right now, but the finish line means so much more than just smaller clothes - it's proof that you can take care of yourself and give yourself something nobody else ever COULD give you - satisfaction of perseverance. :D

My coach keeps asking if I have a ton of energy yet. I don't....I feel more tired that ever. Do you guys have newfound energy or are you tired like me?

I read somewhere that a boiled egg is good at easing the hunger. Hope that works for you!

Thank you so much for your wise words! That's what keeps getting me through each day knowing that being so restricted isn't forever. I love fruits and yogurt so I'm looking forward to enjoying those again when this is said and done.

There have been donuts, brownies, and ice cream in this house and I haven't touched anything. I know it's only been almost a week but this is huge for someone who could and would eat anything sitting around.
