Weigh in
I had my 2nd week weigh in today. I only lost 3 pounds this past week and it is a bit disappointing.
:( Because I am a big person with a long way to go, and because I was on plan last week, I really hoped to lose more than that. I guess that I am shamelessly fishing for some encouragement. This plan is not easy and I want to know it is worth it. Anita |
3 pounds is great! It's going to go up and down like any weight loss plan. Keep going. You're doing amazing.

Thank you
Hi KareVT and Watchout,
Thank you for the encouragement. I appreciate it. I will try to think about my total loss so far instead of my week by week loss. On another topic. . . I think that I am going to buy some jicama for a treat tonight to jump start my week;). I heard it is good with cinnamon. Anyone else trying a new vegetable this week? :broc: Anita |

That was the high end of what my losses averaged.....If you lose 2-3 lbs a week...you will lose 25 lbs in 2.5 months........more than 30 by new Year's Eve...that would probably = something new to wear for Thanksgiving or New Year's...in a smaller size. |
Hi All,
I just started yesterday. So far, I had a slight headache (but no big deal), a bit of stomach upset and no hunger. The good news is that I lost two pounds in one day - the bad news is that I hate some of the food - I took one bite of the crispy cereal this morning, started to gag and had to have a vanilla shake instead because I was dry heaving. I choked down the spaghetti bolognaise. I liked the omlette and I like the shakes but I'm starting to get worried I'll be very bored of the few foods I like in a few days. However, I'll keep at it. The other worry I have is social time with friends and what to eat - but I'm giving it my best, I swear! |

What I find helps is to let my friends know I'm doing this diet and that I'm going to really go for it, and they have been super supportive. I went to a football party the first week and brought my own shake and had baked a bunch of spinach so I had my own snack to munch on. It really helped. |
My first day
Hi everyone! Today is my first day. I am excited but also a little nervous. So far so good. I do have a question: how do you all get in the two cups of veggies? I am SO full right now and can't finish it all. Any suggestions?

Hi Sjerrott,
I am only in my 3rd week so I am not a font of great wisdom, but I thought that I would throw in my 2 cents anyway. I agree with your view on the crispy cereal. I am not sure why they put that as the suggested breakfast so early in the program. I think that many people just use the crispy cereal to make other things out of it (e.g., pancakes and waffles). I made a pretty decent pancake out of it this weekend and now I can appreciate it more. This may sound like a silly question, but did you slowly cook spaghetti bolognaise over the stove or did you quickly microwave it? Apparently the spaghetti and the chili need to be slowly cooked or they taste totally gross. I made that mistake my first week by just putting boiling water in for the chili and it was awful, but I slow cooked another packet this weekend and it wasn't bad. It really irritates me that that they list things that need to be slow cooked over the stove as suggested weekday lunches. Do they think that we all have access to a stovetop and pan at work? Also, omlettes for weekday lunches? Am I supposed to bring a frying pan to work? I am working on the eating out with friends thing. I am in New England so lots of places have good salads with grilled shrimp or grilled fish on top. I found that I really have to do some research about the menu ahead of time or it takes me forever to figure out what I can eat. Also, I am now bringing my own salad dressing along in my purse. I look like a crazy person with my dressing stash, but my friends already know I am crazy so it will be no big suprise for them.:dizzy: Hi Butterfly100, With respect to the veggie thing, I don't know if I am right, but I am interpreting it to be 4 cups of uncooked veggies a day. If my broccoli starts out as 4 cups and is only 2 cups after roasting, I am still counting it as 4 cups. More experienced people, please let me know if this is cheating or if this is a valid interpretation . . . The second week is much easier than the first. Good luck, Anita |
Thanks for all the advice guys - hopefully my tastebuds do change as things move along.

If it cooks down to "nothing" then you get the "nothing" (example: zucchini chips) |
