The filmy feeling is part of adapting to all the protein powders. It eventually goes away.

The weird taste in your mouth is a symptom of ketosis.

Yuk

I have the bad taste in my mouth too! Also have felt exhausted by the evening. I am now on Day 5 - I know I shouldn't have weighed myself but I have lost 3.5lbs already - it's keeping me going!

WI #1 = 6.3 woohoo. Happy IPing to everyone!

Second weigh in last night (I am going every 2 weeks) and lost another 6 pounds and 3 inches. Very happy with my 3 week progress, 10 pounds lost and 8 inches gone. Hoping to keep up the momentum for a few more weeks before it slows down.

I went on a short vacation this past weekend, and travelling was very hard! Not hard to stay OP, I didn't cheat...but I was tired, hungry, and had one day I felt like I couldn't think or talk right....silly things like saying 10 years instead of 10 minutes. I was playing cards with my brother and couldn't remember the word "shuffle". They all said I had a kind of dazed look. I am back home now and back on schedule which hopefully will help, but still having more hunger than I did in week 2.

Keep up the good worok everyone!

I got the go ahead for one ICE a day! Went straight to wegmans and picked up one of each flavor. Thanks for the tip!!!

Week 2 weigh in tonight.. I am concerned because thought I am at 100% NO CHEATING and seem to do ok, I am EXHAUSTED.. Whats up with that? Why am I so tired - I certainly hope this is not the way its going to be the entire 50 pounds PLUS I feel like I am obsessing about food when my next meal is (even if I drink it), and dream about things I usually don't eat either (like corn dogs...WTF) This scares me.. I certainly don't want to fail. Am I the only one?

I just fell off the wagon and licked the bowl after making cupcakes with the kids... And I was doing so well too! I guess I'll have to just move past it and know I won't see a loss on my next WI. Sure was delicious though...

Today is day 4 for me. I also have the disgusting taste in my mouth and my teeth feel dirty gross. Today I did not have a headache just mild dull irritation at times. And it is 830pm and I am still awake - I have been insanely exhausted all week. So things are looking up!

Shooflypie 09-26-2013 08:32 PM

Hungry

Week 2 weigh in this am. Down two pounds. Will take it, but boy am I starving right now! Some days I am fine, but today, can't seem to get the hunger to subside....come on week 3! Bring it!

IP Start Date: Sept 12, 2013. Week 1: -5.5. Week 2: -2

Sorry to hear that you cheated and feel crappy Smooshie. Don't beat yourself up about it though, just get up and continue on!

They say the scale will reflect it, but I wouldn't obsess...it happened, it's over, don't do it again! I have been having headaches quite a bit since starting IP 3 weeks ago. Somedays I just feel awful - like yesterday I feel drugged like I can't think and I am tired, and I am cranky. I cheated yesterday, not proud of it, but the real problem is I felt BETTER, like a normal person again the rest of the day. I don't feel like this everyday, but one day a week or so, and yesterday was the first time I caved and ate something off the diet. It's not weakness, I want to follow the diet and know I can....I just feel so terrible! Maybe I get hypoglycemia and need to re-arrange my eating schedule.

So, I've been OP for almost two weeks (pretty much since I started) and I just was curious if it was normal to feel worn out? I haven't changed anything, and have been getting my water and supplements in, but I just feel like the past few days have been exhausting... No headaches or anything, but I don't have the energy I had last week to just jump out of bed.... Any others noticing this?

Deana,

That's normal and part of the reason that exercise is not recommended for the first while. Adapting to ketosis, the carb/sugar detox that's going on, and launching into a different gear of metabolism are all changes that are hard on the body.

Be kind to your body. Once it adapts, things will pick up speed.

Make sure that you are also getting your salt and oil in ... and gets lots of rest, too. I have been drinking the Ideal Protein tea all along and I think that is helping with cleansing/flushing.

Keep up the good work!

Annik
