Haven't posted in a long while due to a super-hectic schedule. After losing 34 pounds in eight weeks, I unfortunately have to phase out early. DH and I found out I'm pregnant (gee, thanks IP!). Very mixed feelings as I was doing great with the weight loss, and had another 50 to go. It was also a huge shock as we WERE using birth control. Guess the rapid weight loss just messed with my cycle. So - it's a mixed blessing. I know what weight loss method works for me, so I will back after this baby. I plan to continue through my pregnancy low carb, and to keep as much excess off as possible. My OB and my coach (also an MD), are fine with the phase off process this early on. I'm halfway through my first week of phase 2, and having a really difficult time eating all the protein for lunch and dinner. Hopefully phase three will be easier.
I wanted to say good luck to you all, and in the words of Ah-nold Schwarzenegger - "I'LL BE BACK!!"

Congratulations Masenki!!! I know your feeling. I had a great drop week 7 too! This week though i have been struggling with hunger....like my body is fighting back. Have had an extra packet almost everyday. (Better than cheesecake I guess!). I am not expecting a big drop this week, but I'm still going. I keep thinking "Christmas time....Christmas time...."...i really want to be in a different place. Hope it's a good week for you!!!

Oh what wonderful news!!! Your story gives me goosebumps. My kids are now 9 and almost 11, but I loved being pregnant. Pregnancy is truly a miracle in the works. I wish you much health and happiness! Keep us posted on boy/girl name, etc.!

came back from vacation in Vegas. Stayed OP all 5 days. was easier than I thought. The only thing I carved - one good drink, like Margerita, or just a touch of Baileys. Didnt do it !! surprised myself. sometime i feel hungry too - so I start spacing my meals, and now eat 5 times a day :9, 12, 3, 6:30 and 8:30 pm. this way I kinda know I have one more coming :)). somehow it's comforting enough to stay strong. Try and see if this will help.
I have small espresso at 7:30, breaksfast packet at 9am, lunch packet at 12, 2 caps of veg plus egg at 3; then dinner at 6:30 and 3rd packet at 8;30.

Hi all - I see there is a September group. I just had my week 7 WI last Wednesday. Happy so far - 30 lbs. I only need 10 more to goal but I think i'll go a bit below since this is by far the easiest diet I've ever been on. (there have been a lot...) I just don't know how i'm going to get out of it successfully.... I don't know what will work in maintenance - maybe a free day and Phase 1 days and some other Phase 2,3,4?? Dunno - need to get out of Phase 1 first I guess.

Have a great weekend.

Cheers.

Thanksgiving day coming up

I have been on ip for 8 weeks now. I am down a total of 22.6 lbs. well I'm down about 50 since I gave birth to my son April 10 2013. Shortly after I got in the scale to only see , I had only lost 8 lbs,!!!!! What the freak ,!!!! I had to do something,,,I was 191 when I delivered.
I started ip at 165.4 lbs.. It's been 8 weeks exactly and I am down 22.6 lbs(142.8) which is even below my pre preg weight... Ip Scale still has me as "over fat" category... I accept that.. . My goal is 130lbs. My delimma is this,,,, I'm going away for thanksgiving and I want to make it a special 1st turkey day dinner for my pumpkin,, I just know I can not sit at a table with all that food and not die. ,,,, I'll be so close to my goal,,I don't
want to mess up , but one weekend couldn't that just set me back a little ??? I plan on going right back as soon as we return,,, anyone have any advice on this.
Oh and I'm 41 yrs old and my baby is 7 months old today. Our beautiful daughter is going on 20 so this holiday is a real special one.. If I sit in a corner and not eat... How odd do I look to the fam...

Bekimoore - i will also be with my entire family, and though I really don't like advertising that I am trying to lose weight, the difference is quite noticeable. I don't say that I am on a diet, I say I've changed the way I eat because all the gluten and carbs didn't make me feel good. The big thing I have noticed besides my weight loss is that I am sleeping so much better now!

But BEFORE Thanksgiving, I am going to be on vacation...on an island....in a bathing suit. Double whammy. My counselor wants me to go on phase 3 while on vacay. But i am with you....I think it will set me back and I've come too far! I am 43. (I was 205 when my son was born 9 years ago!).

So, it is about me and you! Thanksgiving is one day. We can do it! Eat LOTS of turkey and bring a ham. Bring roasted asparagus and conveniently change a diaper or put your baby down for a nap when dessert is served. Bring a sparkling ice or two to drink something fun. We don't want to go through that pre- ketosis stage again!

Week 8 weigh in - down 1.8 pounds for a total of 16.6. I've got two pounds to go and I pray I can get it off this week and move on to phase 2. Best of luck to the rest of you wonderful women!

Shooflypie 11-17-2013 02:27 PM

On vacation and doing everything I can to stay OP. i am ready to go to the store to buy a scale. I would say I am more doing phase 2 where I am having two meals vs. one but still no carbs. The challenging part is really getting what you order exactly the way your ordered it. My scrambled egg whites with zucchini, spinach and red peppers was swimming in oil this morning....guessing butter or whatever they use. I felt terrible afterwards...tried soaking as much grease up with a napkin that I could...still only ate half and still felt terrible afterwards!!
