I started this week too, today was day 5. I think ketosis might have kicked in because I feel awful! I'm hoping for a 7 pound loss this first week. My weigh in is on Tuesday. I'm so happy I found a support group!

What's everyone eating today? I guess I can say I'm on the alternative plan.

Breakfast: cal303, fat6.8, carbs 5.5, protein 52.1
1 real whole egg, 3 egg whites, 1/2 cup of spinach & mushrooms in eggs with EVO, BariWise amertto cappiccino, Iso-pure protein drink and lots of water!!!!

Pushing for 185 by Wednesday!

Have a great day ladies!

Hmm my guess is that ketosis hasn't kicked in because you should be feeling better once it does, your body is still probably phasing into it! Stick with it! You should start feeling better! It took me a good week and a half to feel better!

Good morning! Today I am still at 135 and have lost about 5-6 lbs since starting on Tuesday. I am feeling weak a bit shaky this morning. Anyways, had sour cream and fine herbs zippers for breakfast...I know a bit weird for the morning but it sounded good and tasted delish. My coach really tries to encourage the restricted in the morning. I think I will be doing a choc shake for lunch with steamed broccoli and I am undecided on dinner. Perhaps I will peruse the recipe thread for ideas.

Sunflower I am happy to see you are back on. Any word from NewEnglander? I so enjoyed her. I truly believe in the power of TFC and the threads here...they make such a difference, keep me inspired, accountable, and have saved me several times from giving up. I say we stay on this together...do you have a time frame you are giving IP before switching it up? I am doing 30 days.

A random internal conversation I had with myself this weekend below in summary...

I cannot remember a time when I was ever below 130...and before now (well almost now...5lbs away) and I was thinking last night that part of me was even scared to keep going if I reach my 130 goal before my 30 day IP challenge is over. After some digging, it seemed like I was scared to get to my optimal best...like I have always been ok with settling on almost as good as it can get when it comes to me. Funny how that is...like I am afraid of achieving what I can really be and not settling with "almost there" with a few pounds that I would never loose? Anyone else feel that way? It's almost like I have short changed myself and settled for good enough and not kept pushing for fear of failure. While goal is 130, I would like to be 125...but I am doing 30 days with the attitude of whatever happens...happens.

Anyways, it was just a thought I had...wondering if anyone else has felt the same

I just noticed that myself, Cass2ander, BellyButtonLint, and Knm are all on day 6 here and started on Tuesday.

Oh good idea with the restrictives being earlier in the day, I should do that! I talked with a dietician at work and she said that if she were to give one piece of advice it would be "No carbs after 3pm" I am guessing carbs like veggies are ok but the more heavier carbs need to be before 3pm :)

eandc2006 09-08-2013 02:01 PM

That's funny a dietician told you that. My coach, a chiropractor also holds an undergrad degree in nutrition, told me the same thing. Only protein and veggies after 3. She even said that she doesn't entirely support the maintenance of IP and says that you should always have a phase 1 dinner with a few exceptions here and there.

Congrats on all your losses, you are soooooo close. Can't wait until you get there!

Hi everyone, I am new here, trying to read old threads....there is so much information and I feel so lost!
I am on day 6 as well, started on Tuesday! My mom has been begging me to try IP since last year when she lost 60#. I need to lose 64 and the first week is going well except for a small hiccup last night. On my own scale I have lost about 6 pounds, but I know its water since I spent lots of time in the bathroom the first 3 days. I swear I had to pee every 45 minutes!
I have done all the diets before....south beach, low cal, ww, hcg....hoping this really is the last diet. I'm afraid of failing, since that's the only result I know. Also, I am trying to stick with protocol as much as possible, but the cost of this diet is about 3 times my normal budget. I've seen some people mention alternatives, including quest protein bars, so I am searching now to see if they are ok, and maybe some other options that aren't so expensive.
Happy to be part of the newbie group!
Karen

I started this past Friday. Detox is brutal. Hoping nausea passes b tomorrow.

Today was my third day. Still feeling listless. Glad I'm not alone.

Today is my 4th day and feeling much better than yesterday. No cheats and for me that is a miracle I know I can do this. I have failed at every diet I have tried. This is my time, can hardly wait until Thursday to weigh in.

Yay a September group :)
I am finishing up day 2 …. super excited about loosing some weight. I've been battling the bulge for 13 years now and am just done with it. This program I feel is a really good fit for me.
Good luck everyone

Try Diet Direct..... I am using alternatives, DD products are comparable to IP... Be careful and really look at the carb/protein count though : )

Welcome misslilly!!!

cass2ander 09-09-2013 08:31 AM

Also forgot..... I use fitday and log EVERYTHING!!! Took some time but I have all my food entered in so its easy to access each day. Anyone else use fitday or another app to log?
