Had a good naked WI today! Finally broke through the 250 barrier and weighed in at 248. My initial goal at the start of this thing was 20lbs by March 9 now I'm hoping to see 35lbs +!! Thank God I found IP!!!

Mom is suppose to be here this afternoon, and has not seen me since Christmas.
She should be surprised.

Thanks for the welcome. The only thing I want to "Take off, eh?" is the weight.

Okay, okay I'll stop with the Bob and Doug references.

Hey Spiritman! If your looking for some good dinner stuff to get in Canada, I have been eating mostly PC stuff from Loblaws. Check out:

PC Blue Menu - Marinated Pork on Skewers (You can eat 4 skewers/sitting)
PC Blue Menu - Sirloin Burgers (2 Burgers)
PC Blue Menu - Garlic Chicken Skewers (4 skewers)
PC Blue Menu - Turkey Burgers (2 Burgers)

Also to save a few sheckles (vs IP food) in the morning I start my day off with a shake. I really like the PC Whey Protein Isolate - Strawberry Creme. (3 Scoops (170cal/2g carb/1g fat/28g protein)).

Best advice is to get set up on www.myfitnesspal.com I record everything I eat and it is a real lifesaver for me. They even have a handy app for your smartphone!

Also invest in a George Foreman grill! (I should advertise for those guys!) Grill your veggies with some seasoning...they taste way better!

Congrats!! I am having trouble breaking that 260 mark! So I can relate to your feeling. 290, 280, 270 were a piece of IP butterscotch!. But this 260....

What is odd, is that I am not discouraged at all (-.8). Where as in 'time past' if that happen I would be throwing the diet out, and going off whatever plan I was on. After 8 weeks I haven't had major cheat, but just some lazy cheats and 1 mistake.

Lazy Cheats include
Not picking carrots out of a salad.
Eating more then 8 oz of meet.
Having 2 restricted in 1 day.
Grilling onions.
Big Mistake
I thought artichokes were OK. An ops….I was eating cups of them.

Yikes, whats up with the grilling onions? Is that bad? I've been doing that a lot!

Something about cooking onions caramelizes(sp?) them. Which is the same as eating sugar.

It is just my theory, and mine alone. Not endorsed by any company whatsoever. That crap is going to happen. The other nite I ate 4 restricted chip bags in the same night. Asking myself "what the heck are you doing?", each time. And I will pay for it in this weeks WI.....But this is a learning project and long term. It was much better than the box of hostess O's, bag of Red Vines, bag of potato chips and the 2 king size candy bars I would eat, because I was depress about being fat,
I am learning about what I eat, why I eat it and that there are alternatives. If I don't learn this now why I am changing things it will all just be for naught.
Now there is some hope not only for losing, but changing the process that got me here.

and yes the onions can be raw but not cooked.

WI this afternoon. Usually I WI on Friday morning before water, breakfast, or anything else that can add weight but my coach had a conflict so called around 11am to ask if I could come in today instead. Result was -1 but I'd also already had 5 of my 8 glasses of water for the day (incidentally I usually have about 14 by the end of the day). I'm hoping this is a week 5 slow down only and things will pick up a bit next week. She's still showing I'm low on hydration so the only thing I can figure is I'm not getting enough sodium. Time to up the pickle intake I guess.

On the onion thing, they can be cooked just not fried/sauted. If you bake them or use them in a soup, crock pot, something where they turn translucent but not caramelized you should be okay. Just my .02. Your mileage may vary.

Sometimes the baby steps are the ones that matter most. Like you said, you didn't bring Hostess out of bankruptcy so that, in itself, is a good thing. After WI today I certainly felt like a medium pan pizza but settled for some brocolli and mushrooms instead.

While this is an individual journey (even though my wife and I are doing it together) as no one can loan us their desire or willpower, I've certainly found this forum to be an amazing boost in my ability to stay 100% OP. The next time you feel like reaching for that extra bag of Cheese Curls take a minute to check in here. If you still have to have it just know we're not going to beat you up over it.

Looks like several of us are having a low loss week....mine was only 2 lbs. But I enjoy all the comments you're all contributing.

I liked GoBears comment about the belt - I bought a new belt for a cruise in November and of course I started out on the last notch because I refused to buy one that had any more room for growth. Now I'm also on the first notch and will be glad to throw it away even though it is almost brand new.
