  • Quote: I was stationed at McChord AFB years ago. I wasn't a big fan of Tacoma but I loved the surrounding areas. I have considered moving back to the PacNW in the next 5 - 10 years.
Yeh I was at Ft Lewis for 2 years but that was in a different life (pre-wife) so didn't include it. Plus we spent more time in the field in Yakima than we did at Lewis (or so it seemed).
  • I grew up on a farm in Kentucky so the eastern part was amazing to me. All the produce raised in high dessert, never knew where my apples were from.
  • Eastern WA is where it's at. Spent 30 years in SW Wa, you couldn't pay me to leave the sun. 7 inches of rain compared to 47.
  • Welcome Chaz, nice to see some one local.
  • Thanks Billie. Congrats on the progress! I have my first WI on Friday. Looking forward to it. But, been battling a cold/flu symptoms that past two days. Haven't been able to eat all my veggies and salad yesterday.

Welcome and I see we are the same height and almost the same starting weight. Just think, if you follow the plan you will be at least 35 pounds lighter in two months! After the first 2 weeks it gets much easier. My first 2 days were pure ****, but everyone is different.

I am now officially wearing waist size 42" pants. Less than 2 months ago it was very tight 46”. I know others that carry more weight than me are getting into 38" pants, but I got some rock hard fat and some muscle under the waist. Of course even at my advanced age I still can do 44 sit-ups in a minute, so there might be some muscle in there.

I weigh 3 pounds more than on Monday. Spending 2 1/2 hours in back of the snowblower and shoveling last night, and another hour and 10 minutes this morning just shoveling. No I don’t live in a mansion, but the 89 year is sick and I did his massive driveway and walk. Why someone puts a double car garage and drive in the back of the house is beyond me. I hope it is very used muscles that is retaining water which has caused this weight gain, but life is good on IP.

I have a fondness for the Northwest because Starbucks opened its first store in 1971 in the Pike Place Market in downtown Seattle.
  • Okay guys here's something tasty for a cold day. I made some broccoli puree yesteday and just added it to the Chicken Ala King Pottage Mix. Very good! Kind of disgusting looking but tastes great!
  • SAME HEIGHT AND WEIGHT....
Sure here I am walking around in the land of giants....hehehehe

    Hello down there.
  • No Giant here, Billie. You are a great barometer for me since we're close in height and starting weight. I'm happy to be just a few pounds behind your pace!
  • WI 4 today and I put up a goose egg. Hate that, but I did loose 2" and my body fat is down. No exercise so I am not quite sure what happened. Oh well onward and upward.
I am speaking to a group at a seminar in my center tomorrow evening. They asked me to come so people get a real world view.
I have invited a close friend who has seen her diabetes deteriorate over the past couple of years to the point she has decided to do bypass surgery, she agreed to come and listen and I agreed to being her support person if she decides to try IP. Had a friend approach me at an event tonight demanding to know what I had done to loose so much so quickly. He is also coming tomorrow.
  • My birthday suit weight this morning was 200.8. I should be in One-derland next week. According to my military records, the last time I was at 199 was when I was 19 (10 years ago).

I just found out I have to fly to California for a business trip this month. My hotel is only 2 blocks from the beach. Time to show off the new body
  • The wife’s and I appointment is towards the end of the day every Wednesdays. Her office is very cramped hardly enough room for 2 chairs, a desk, and her super-doper scale. Last night she looked beat and she said, “Long day 35 people”. She also let something slip under her breath, “The problem with this diet is that it works”

Yes IT DOES WORK and ‘Success- is-Messy’ is spreading the news. There is a diet THAT WORKS and we have found it.

When was the last time you saw an info-commercial on IP? A news paper ad? Even a regular commercial? It’s all word of mouth at least in the Chicago area. The wife and I knew we had to lose weight. We walked into a weight loss clinic near the house last summer, the web site was impressive but then a used car salesman came out. Though the sales pitch was impressive, we couldn’t wait to get out of there. Then the daughter-in-law started IP at a clinic near her work. She started in August and what a pain in the A$$ she was. She always brought her own food; heaven forbid if she ate some of ours. Then one weekend on the way back from a day at the beach in Michigan we went into a restaurant. As I mumbled under my breath, “Geese just order the (bad word goes here) salad as is” and stop with the demands and the questions of what is this cooked in blah blah blah…)

One month later we really began to notice how great she looked, by the middle of November it was OMG! The wife made the first phone call to HER clinic and coach. Suzanne asked “Why don’t you wait until after the holidays?” It told me it wasn’t about the money, she liked what she was doing and she wants success for us. We made the appointment for January 2nd. 57 pounds loss (between the two of us) 65 days later…

No when we go out to eat my questions to the poor waitress “What comes in the garden salad?” What is the fish cooked in? Can I switch veggies for potatoes?...

BTW down 4 pounds, but still not under 260.

Yeh I keep thinking of Meg Ryan in When Harry Met Sally every time we order something at a restaurant now.

Congrats on the loss! My Week 6 WI is tomorrow morning. I'm thinking at least -3 but maybe a healthy BM will get it to -4 too.
