It SOUNDS scary at 21g carbs, but the box says when you subtract the glycerine, uncooked cornstarch etc. it's ONE g NET CARBS and that it helps control blood sugar for up to 9 hours.

See what I mean about "too good to be true"? LOL

The other bar I'm enjoying is an ISOFEMME bar from Shoppers.
cal 140 fat 4.5g, carbs 13g, fibre 1, sugar alcohol 10g, protein 15g
Thanks for the info!

OK so similar in cost to the protidiet products then. I've grown to like the detour bars as long as they have been in the fridge for a long time, really find they help me with energy prior to my workout. I use the shakes as well for breakfast have come across a couple cases that have protein separation in them though which was rather gross - costco of course took them back.

I imagine lots of people were out today in the warm weather.

DIETDIRECT.COM is great!! I ordered proti-diet products last week.. they came within 3 days. My coach charges 20.00 bucks a box of proti-diet. Dietdirect.com was $12 and change a box.. shipping was 25.00 but it was still cheaper than if I baught a bunch of food from my coach.

Also, Dietdirect has a membership rewards program. So you can save more money on your future purchases.

This is one of my favorites. I noticed when checking the ingredients that the main oil is palm, which imo is quite healthy too.

Just discovered Safeway has around a dozen ProtiLife products on shelf. Just comparing nutritional info now. If anyone has any advice on these as alternatives would be greatly appreciated. Or reviews. Hoping to atleast feed to my husband who is doing this along with me for some dollar savings.

Good to know, thanks for the info, did you get stuck with any customs/duty charges?

Hello,

I am just wondering if they make you pay duty on your order (on top of the shipping cost)?

When I order from Nahua nutrition, I pay duty on top of the shipping cost but if from dietdirect they wouldn't make me pay duty that would be great!

I have found with the duty costs it doesn't depend really on which company it comes from. Sometimes I paid duty on orders from Nashua, other times not. I think it just depends on who is putting it through customs and how busy it is at the time.

NSV I went to shoppers and they had my Isofemme bars on sale, and then $1.00 off because they expire soon. So I got them for 99cents a bar. Plus I got Shoppers points AND for $50 spending, I got a $10 gift card back. Why, it was like my bars were FREE..... Man I love me my Shoppers points! I felt like some "Extreme Coupon" person from t.v. LOL
Side note: they ARE just a little more "firm" than the fresh ones, but it makes me take longer to eat them so they last even longer in their slightly stale state!

I'll have to check and see whether they're on sale at my local Shoppers. Thx for the tip. I have some shoppers points accumulated that I can use too.

Shoot - I was at Shoppers today, and forgot to check whether Isofemme bars were on sale!

What I came in to tell you folks about, is a RTD protein shake product which I noticed today for the first time at Shoppers. It's by Bodylogix, and the flavor I picked up is Vanilla Ice Cream. Each bottle is 414ml. It's not a perfect replacement as I find it a tad high in both calories and fat, but close enough in a pinch.

Nutritional values per 414 bottle are: Cals 170; Fat 6g; Chol 20mcg; Sodium 330mcg; Potassium 310mcg; Carbs 6g; Fibre 3g; Sugar 2g; Protein 25g.

I'm going to split each bottle for 2 servings, and supplement each with some of my unflavored protein powder which will bring each to a total of 16g protein/serving and increase the calories/serving to around 110-120. They were also on sale today (I'm going to drink one for my before snack tonight, so I'll see if the taste is the reason why they're on sale LOL - if they're terrible, I'll come back and edit this)... 4 bottles $2.99! Regularly 4 @ $11.99. Picked up a box of ProtiLife peanut butter bars too while I was there. They were on sale too - box of 5 @ $8.99 today.

Added at 8:54pm: Having 1/2 of the Bodylogix Vanilla Ice Cream Shake right now. And it's quite tasty. I put it in my individual shake Hamilton Beach blender with a bit of cinnamon and a couple of ice cubes and blended it slightly. It frothed up to make a decent sized drink, even though it's only 1/2 of the bottle. I'm definitely going to go back to Shoppers tomorrow and pick up another carton of these. It's like getting 8 shakes for $2.99!!

Now I have a Shoppers craving. That place has me hooked! LOL I swear, if I lived in the States I'd be one of those "extreme couponers" with 700 bottles of deodorant in the basement as it was a good deal. My hubby just shakes his head when I come home with 2-3 bottles of shampoo or laundry soap. What? Do you think we won't have laundry to do after this one bottle is gone? Other than my hair falling out -- the stuff left still needs washing! .... A deal is a deal and I love me my Shopper's points! I had $400 dollars at Christmas to spend. Stockings were nice and full!
