I would be interested to know where my fellow canucks are ordering their alternatives from and what are you buying. Gonna get my mom on board but need to make it super easy to get stuff or she won't follow thru!

The Walmart at Marlborough....I bought the shake there and the vitamins. I don't eat the bars at all. Then I went to Sobey's and bought my veggies and meat. When I get the munchies I have some lettuce.

For Ideal Protein type foods - I order from Nashua Nutrition. Shipping/Fedex Fees are expensive but I guess it still is cheaper than the Ideal Protein packs.

For Walden Farms/Green Valley/Quest Bars/Miracle Noodles/Dixie Diner (this brand has a Cup-o-Noodle I've been meaning to try): Lowcarbcanada.ca. Warehouse is located in Calgary or Toronto; can pick up in store or free shipping on orders over $100

Lowcarbgrocery.com also carries the same stuff as Lowcarbcanada, just slightly more expensive. They also carry the Syntrax protein powder that some people rav about on here. Sometimes has better deals than the above website, depending on sales. Warehouse is located in Vancouver.

Costco: Premier Protein Chocolate RTD Shakes (they don't carry the Vanilla flavor in Canada ). Pick up bulk produce here so you can make batches of Veggie Purees and freeze portions for easy access.

Check out my blog - link below in signature line - I've done all but the first week of the diet on alternatives, and with the exception of one order during the initial days from Nashua, I sourced everything I used in Canada.

Anyway, I ordered from Nashua a couple of times before but indeed, by paying duty it get a little more expensive then from proteinwell!

I looked into the Low Carb Grocery site and I took time to compare the products, and while there isn't as much choice as Nashua, I was able to find some nice alternatives and here I am posting my findings to make it easier for everyone to look them up if interested:

Smaps All Natural Soy Cereal Sweet Maple
Sugar Free Pancake and Waffle Mix
ChocoRite Protein Powder - CAPPUCCINO
Hi-Lo Cereal Strawberry
Nutlettes All Natural Whole Soy Cereal

So most of these products are breakfast item, and to me this is when I like to have my restricted item!

I also found some good soups on this site, the Pro Energy soups, except that the price for me was not good, it comes out to about $3 per soup, which is still less than IP but with me on EI for now looking for a job, I'd rather keep my packets preferably between $1-1.50 to a maximum of $2 if I really like the taste.

Also, all the Walden Farm products.

Hope this helps.

If anyone can share what they buy from http://www.lowcarbcanada.ca that would be great.

Thank you everyone.
I love the Maple Syrup

Good morning
It has been awhile and I'm back to lose 15 lbs hopefully by mid August if possible. Currently sitting at 155 and will be happy to see 140. Had several "day ones" and starting another one today. My issue is that I don't have enough ProtiDiet food and can no longer order through Proteinwell. Went on to Nashua Nutrition and started an order to find out shipping costs were going to be $68 and then I might get stuck with custom charges. I've heard that Low Carb Canada is good but they really don't seem to have anything. I would like to order soup (chicken noodle & beef vegetable), oatmeal and perhaps a snack or two.

Any suggestions would be greatley appreciated. There use to be a list that compared ProtieDiet products to Ideal Protein but if I can find suitable items on Low Carb Canada that people have already compared I'll give it a shot. Please indicate if the item is considered restrictive

thanks

I lost at least 90% of my weight last year using alternative products that I sourced within Canada, in order to avoid custom fees, etc. I discuss it at some length in my blog - link is in signature line below - including products used, sources, etc.

Good morning Everyone

Evepet I checked out your blog and I'm going to try LowCarbGrocery for the first time.
Based on your blog I will be ordering: Smaps, New Hope Mills Pancakes and Bakers Deluxe Instant Hot cereal. Can you please tell me if these are considered "restricted" items.

Also, has anyone figured out which "chip" type items are acceptable from LowCarbGrocery.

I noticed several types of miracle noodles and want to order some of those as well as I want to get above $100 for free shipping. Are all of them "free"to use.

Only other thing I'm missing is a nice soup and I don't feel like making a "homemade" one

Thanks for your input and have a great day.

Im fairly new to IP (4 weeks in) and I didn't see a Canadian board before. Very pleased to have found this! I understand there is a dressing called 3 Gyros that is 0/0/0 and it is Canadian but I can't find it anywhere is Saskatchewan. Has anyone ever seen it?

I just got this at Walmart last week. They had four different flavours. I have yet to try it, but I will let you know. I am in Ontario though.

I considered Smaps, New Hope Mills pancake/waffle mix, and the Bakers Deluxe Instant Hot cereal all to be Unrestricted items. I made my waffles with 1 tbsp. of egg white & used 1 tsp of coconut oil.

As to soups... is there a Dr. Bernstein's branch in your town/city? I've gotten their soup packets from time to time during my dieting months here. Or you can order from them online.
