Medifast wasn't bad. You basically eat their food, which I think is cheaper than Weight Watchers and Jenny Craig. It is mostly powders (to make shakes, hot drinks, pudding, "soft-serve", soup, pancakes, "scrambled eggs", etc). There are also bars, which are pretty tasty. I like that you eat 5 of their meals throughout the day and then make one "lean and green" meal. I can also cook dinner for the whole family that way. There are lots of things you can add in terms of condiments and throw in snacks. For me, the downside was, compared to this program, the weight doesn't come off as fast. It is much easier to transition off. I could do the MF while I was breastfeeding and the weight came off faster then. When I stopped, not as much. What I like about AW is that the more rapid weight-loss motivates me not to cheat and be consistent. Like you said, AW is NOT for long-term and I think Medifast could be.

Thanks Coco for the info about the email list!

Yeah, I knew what it was..just wondering how the stuff tasted. I like that you can eat one meal. After doing AW it makes that seem like a breeze.. One real meal to look forward to LOL.. I of course would like it to be quick also but maybe after i do this two months I will need a change LOL.. thanks.

WOW! 3lbs with just bites?! You're right. Might as well go whole hog if you're going to gain! At least you'll enjoy it.

Coco, good reminder on not cheating. Since I'm just beginning, cheating isn't too much of a temptation. At this very moment, anyway.

I'm so impressed with those who are working during the day. It's awful when others in the office are eating good food and bringing it in to share. Not to mention co-workers hassling you about being on a diet. Peer pressure and temptation. I still remember Guywithbead's story about his friends/co-workers freaking out about his weight loss. People were negative before when he weighed a lot and negative AFTER when he lost a lot. Good grief. Hope you ladies have people surrounding you with support.

I feel like I'm getting a bit of an advantage being at home with the kids because they distract me from sitting down for a moment to eat. Then again, the alternatives to not eating are a). laundry b). cleaning the bathroom c). changing diapers or d). mopping the floors. I think I'll just sit here on the couch on my laptop a little longer :).

Oh sorry, didn't mean to give too much info on Medifast. I hadn't heard of it before my friend lost weight on it. You're right... it is a BREEZE compared to this. The food is actually pretty tasty, all things considered. There were some really gross options (most of the soups, ick), but you can send them back and exchange for something else. If you do decide to go on it later, let me know and I'll let you know what food I thought was tasty.

Of course, since you've made it this far on AW, Medifast will be like a Vegas buffet.

After AW any diet and just cutting calories should be easier.. Having to wait until noon to eat and then only eating limited foods is hard. Anything should be easier LOL.... The food I am craving is not even bad.. I would love an egg white and cheese sandwich for breakfast!!! LOL

its not worth cheating..I had to get 3 pounds off.
I find work easier.. the weekends are horrible and I have to go food shopping. Smelling the bread and bakery in the supermarket is horrible.

MJ where are you? When you disappear its not good news. How was the weekend? I am down 10.5 total for two weeks. I will take it.. I am more then on my way to 15 for the month. Hoping to surpass that. 20 would be nice.

I HATE MILK WEEKENDS!!!!!!!!!!

I woke up today REALLY dizzy. I'm Anemic but I'm able to keep it at bay but I have a feeling that no meat for me is not a good thing. I cheated yesterday, not REALLY bad but I did. Today my Veggie day had 1/2 of Macchiato but I'm still debating if I'm going to stick with it or not. Just went to the Supermarket and bought Frozen Mashed Squash and I'm having it right now. I'm trying to stick to it as much as I can. I don't even want to look at the scale, but I'm able to do it during working hours once the weekend comes...Saturday goes smoothly and Sunday goes downhill!

I hope you had a better weekend than I did.

My weekend was fine.. Its hard I just try to stay away from food...(and I have to go food shopping so it stinks.) It always falls on the weekend.
Maybe you should be taking a vitamin supplement for the iron.

The weekdays are easier but it would be nice to have vegetables fall on the weekend. Next weekend I am eating Easter dinner so I am doing milk the day before and then two days after.. YUCK.

Hi Mel,

I signed up for it but to me this is more intimate (even though is not) plus I'm not really liking the e-mail fact...I read them but I have not answered or introduced myself yet.

I told you before ..milk after you cheat. Do not do three days in a row of either protocol.. so in order to eat food on easter I can't do two days of vegetables before. I have to cut one to milk and then after eating food I am doing two milk days. I read it and that is what happened the day I did my last day of my apple cleanse after my two milk days. He made me go to milk after the apple day and not two days of vegetables.. but still I won't get off milk on the weekend. LOL.

Hello all

MelissaF -CONGRATULATIONS on the 50lb loss that is AWESOME!! I myself am nearing that milestone..it was officially 43.5 for me on Saturday so I am excited.

Ladies, hang tight - do not focus too much on the cheating, although I too would be disappointed if I took a bite of food and gained 3lbs...that stinks! truly should have eaten the slice for that. but seriously it can be discouraging. What I am about to say is a "no no" and most would say you don't reward with food, but here goes anyway...this weekend to celebrate my 11lb loss I treated myself I had dinner at a friend's house, nice garden salad with honey BBQ chicken (less than 4oz) and yellow cake w/whipped icing...so delish. Then on sunday my family and I went out to Carrino's restaurant and I ate shrimp scampi, chicken parm, salad, fried calamari. Okay sounds like a lot, however, it was small portions bc i didn't want to go overboard. But amazing when you cheat the scale goes up..I am up 5lbs however, I know it isn't legitimate bc I didn't consume 15,000 calories. It will be gone come Wednesday now to clean it up. But it was worth it for being squeaky clean for those days. Now to concentrate on these days being squeaky clean so this weekend I can hit the 180s..yes!! Hey whatever gets me to my goal of 150 or less!!
