Hi everyone, I haven't been on in a while, I was away on vacation for about two weeks in NC, and no access to a PC. I've been in the middle of Ramadan so my focus has been at least to keep the weight off and not regain.
Miss everyone here! I am going to take some time to catch up on some pages here and see what's been happening....

Lomalindarn Wow you are trying the program! I'm sorry for all this pain you're having!!! Can I ask you a question -- are you taking meds, for instance, outside of the 12-6 window? I find if I take them early morning and all I'm drinking is water, I feel gross. The other question I have is related to your 5 lb weight loss, do you have a slow thyroid? My MIL has a slow thyroid and her weight loss is usually about 5-6 lbs. Other thing is if you're in the 100s already, that 5lb loss may be typical.....Think of it this way for starters -- You're shooting for 15 lbs in a month, so you're 1/3 the way there, know what I'm trying to say?

Loma, are you still in pain..? Yes, I suppose your body just had to adjust.

I'm on my third day, down to 175 (made a mistake with the scale, this one is accurate) I am too lazy right now to do anything fancy or cook.. I do want to order those miracle noodles and try the asian-style noodles recipe.. I have a pear, banana, and steamed veggies. I am feeling tired today, but that is to be expected after having been off-track for so long. I'm going to have some tea and honey in a bit.

Hoping to be down to 169 by this Friday. I also sttarted taking an active women's multivitamin, so this should help me out when I work out. Stay strong everyone!

lomalindarn 5lbs is great If you lose the same amount with the rest of your beads in your starter kit then you will meet your goal. Don't pay too much attention to the scale though. You might be losing more in inches. Talk to your counselor about your hunger pains though. That's what I did in the beginning. For me it really wasn't hunger pains, it was my brain tricking me. I was really only having cravings. Once I increased my water and kept myself too busy to think about food, the so called pains went away. But you might be having a different issue.

Starrynight I just started taking a multi as well. I've been feeling drained but feel much better since the muti. Hope it works for you while working out.

First, thanks everyone for responding to my ****.

Actually, I lost more than 5 lbs. until the 8th day when I threw in a bowl of cereal to ease my pain, and then a bowl of crackers on day 9. The pain is much worse in the evening, like now. I have had my veggie portion for the day, and my stomach is killing me. My only other theory is that I need a digestive enzyme to deal with all the fruits and vegetables I am having on an empty stomach. I experienced these symptoms previously when I dieted both on Atkins and Herbalife, and I recall a doctor telling me that putting nothing but vegetables and fruits (full of fiber) in my stomach is problematic and irritating. So, it is quite possible that I am confusing this for hunger, and it may make sense since the added starches seem to calm the stomach upset...like right now, my stomach is turning and acid is gushing around. I am not sure the Accuweight staff has encountered this before, not that I don't want to give them credit, but I am long distance. So, if I had endured the pain and hadn't added in the starches to buffer my stomach, I certainly would have lost more.

Lomalindarn do you have this pain if you eat a banana? my dad used to get upset stomachs but he eats 1/2 banana every day and something about it helps the stomach with its mucous (sorry to be gross), hasn't had issues in a long time. Also, are you eating raw or cooked veggies, I find that raw veggies give me an upset stomach. try cooked solely, for a few more weeks. hope it helps.

I too have lost 5 pounds with my first set of beads. However, that is more than I have ever lost the first week with any other diet so I will take it. I also think that it may be because I started the diet in the 100's so maybe that has something to do with it. The milk days are my favorite mainly because I have absolutely no appetite so therefore I really don't like getting the veggies and fruit down, but I manage.
lomalindarn, hope you are feeling better and able to stick with the diet. Well guys, that's all I have for the first set of beads...hope all are doing well!

What is frustrating is that my traditional doctor pulls out the food guide pyramid and tells me I should be eating a balanced diet. My friend who is a dietician says I should combine my vegetables with starches. The clerk at my local nutrition store says the same thing. I can't get advice on how to remedy the digestive/hunger issue because the three above persons, including my own physician, do not understand Accuweight.

I only have my vegetables cooked, and I have a banana every fruit/veg day.

Thanks for the advice.

Default Newbie

Hi Everyone, today is my second day on the bead diet. Surprisingly not hungry. Not sure how tomorrow is going to go. It's milk and yogurt. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Default Bead Diet

Hi. Today is my first day on the Bead Diet. I am feeling a bit anxious. It really seems to require a great deal of will power. I know 5 people who've been on it and I am truly amazed at how fast the weight comes off. Last night during our orientation meeting a woman came by to start her second cycle, and she told us that she'd lost 30lbs in 2 weeks. I was encouraged by the fact that she said that she felt great, energized and not hungry.Well, here we go...... Best wishes to all those on this journey.

Wink Bead diet...day 2

Hi everyone. Well today has been day 2. I am pleasantly surprised at my lack of hunger. It's not that I have that "full" feeling associated with a heavy meal, but I feel satisfied. Tomorrow is Milk Day. Looking forward to adding a bit of nutmeg, honey, vanilla extract and lots of ice for a nice milkshake treat.

My second set of beads, I lost 0 lbs. That's zero!

Milk days are easy compared to veg days, due to the stomach pain I have endured.

Last veg day, someone suggested I try butternut squash and honeydew since they might be less offensive. Sixty minutes later the pain hit as I was in WalMart. I was tired of the experience, and shivers went up and down my body, my arm hairs stood on end, as I used the shopping cart for support. I got a box of crackers, started eating, and after a while started to feel better.

I lose a pound every two milk days, and then gain it back every two veg days because I am adding in crackers, rice, potatoes, cereal, etc. to stop the pain of all the veg fiber on an empty stomach.

I am failing on Accuweight, not because of will power, food addiction, temptation, or a sweet tooth (because none of these applies), but because my stomach can't handle it (literally, not figuratively).

I didn't even turn in the results of my 2nd set to my consultant, because I am so embarrassed, and Accuweight does not have an answer for me. They don't have any viable suggestions.

Question Feel Better

So sorry to hear that the program is not agreeing with you.
I'd encourage you to contact your counselor and ask for a modified plan that might work better for you. Don't give up on yourself. You are committed to losing weight, then do so on a plan that does not cause you as much discomfort as this one does. It may come off a bit slower than you had hoped so, but the goal is still attainable. I wish you the best, and I hope you are feeling better very soon.

lomalindarn, have you tried just simply eating good healthy foods and counting calories combined with exercise? You are lactose intolerant, I don't think it's good to be eating only milk products for two days because a diet says to. You should choose something else that works for you based on your dietary needs.

Even if you lose weight on this program, lack of exercise is still going to leave your body composition looking like that of a heavy person but just a smaller size. Exercising is the icing on the cake when it comes to weight loss.

Default Hi, Stephanie

Yes, I have tried a typical calorie counting, carb watching, healthy choice, and exercise type diet. Exercise does not agree with me because of my heaviness. I always tend to over stress a joint, muscle, or some part of my body that puts me in a state of pain requiring relaxation and healing before attempting exercise again. My weight loss goal is to drop the weight dietarily and then incorporate a more active lifesyle like hiking, swimming and travel.

There is something magical about Accuweight that allows participants to drop weight without exercise and without sagging, loose skin, maintaining body tone. This is evident over and over again from the numerous testimonials.

I am not aware that I am lactose intolerant as in I do not experience any symptoms from consuming lactose. Even so, Lactaid is recommended on this program for those that are intolerant. I happen to be fruit/vegetable fiber intolerant and am hoping, wishing and asking anyone and everyone for a remedy and solution

Default Accu Bead Diet

I am going to the Clark office today to get my beads.

I don't think I will have a problem sticking to the diet, but I have IBS (with diarrhea, not constipation). My stomach never feels good so I'm wondering what's going to happen when I start the diet.

Has anyone experienced diarrhea and cramping while on this diet?

If I'm sick, the diet won't work for me. If I'm not sick, I know I can do it.
