Lol Sophie'snowangel: Trust me its a huge turn off. Because two ladies did it perfectly they assume they have the right to be harsh and overly rude.

Mom2: Again thanks. This helps me sooo much you have no idea. I have been so close to giving up. I do resues my points and have help placing them. But i will definitely resue them more. Its just hat right now i dont know what the transition phase is like. As of today it said that i was 139.8 and i have never seeing that number ever!! And i am so excited but also a little worried because i dont know if i will see it again at my next weigh in. Starting tomorrow til sunday i am going to have perfect days and at the end of every phast have one day where ill eat on healthy meal including some meat. And your right i dont mind reaching my goal a little later then november. I'll be fine reaching it end of December. Again thanks for your comments it really helps.

Lilly i am so proud of you and congrats on losing more weight and being at 133 lbs!! Thats amazing i cannot wait til i am there.

Good luck everyone!

Lose25, I was at 140 ten days ago. And that includes two cheat days (which i'm not proud of, but it is what it is). You will be in the 130s in no time!

Mom2gbsb, it's really great that you've found something that works! I could probably be maintaining by now if I hadn't cheated along the way, but I'm only 13 pounds away so I really don't mind. Before I found this diet my goal was to reach 120 by February, so I'm incredibly ahead of schedule already anyway.

Sophiesnowangel, did I see you post on the email list today?

LillyLover: If I feel I need to chime in I will.

My goal was 130 and today I am 127. I will watch where you are going since we are about the same height. My new personal goal is 124. Then it may be 122, 120. I am taking this 2 lbs. at a time. I have quite a few years on you so you keep me motivated!

Sophiesnowangel, I think it would be great if we could do this journey together! I am reconsidering my goal though...I think I may want to go down to 110-115. I'm not really sure though, all I can really handle right now is getting to 120. It does mean a lot to me that I can be of help to you and motivate! This whole forum is great motivation for me. Everyone is so welcoming and supportive.

I'm so glad that tomorrow is a milk day for me...I'm going to try and use the Walden Farms alfredo sauce I got and fix it up so it's edible. I got a recipe for some kind of milk soup to use with the alfredo to try, and I'll be sure to report back on its tastiness. I'm also glad I'm back to milk days because I absolutely don't lose on veggie days! I remain the same exact weight, which is quite frustrating.

Default WF Alfredo Sauce / Milk Soup you saaaaay????

Hi ladies-

I've been reading and lurking, and reading the *other* board also .. ahem.. But- What's this about an Alfredo Sauce Milk soup?? It's a milk day for me and I was going to make soup anyway - but I'd love to try this! How do you make it?

I started in early september and lost about 25 lbs in the month (I have a *lot* to lose... ), but had to go on a 6 week business trip that made it insanely difficult to stay on board. I managed to stay within about 5 lbs of where I stopped, so I'm happy about that and am now back on the beads since Wed. Today I'm having the detox headache, so that's annoying, but knowing how well this works? I can suck it up and have an advil for a few days

I have basically bought *stock* in the da vinci sugar free syrups, which have been amazing on my milk days - and making "soda" on my non milk days. The only one I tried that I was insanely disappointed in was the Gingerbread. I was so sad - it's the holiday season coming, and I thought if I was going to have to give up my milk in my coffee in the morning, I wanted something tasty! It ..... was...... horrible. I actually threw out a cup of coffee. (..for me, that's unheard of.)

Someone on that other board mentioned using Butter Extract. I didn't know that existed, but I have no shame. I suspect throwing some of that in the milk soups would be pretty fab...

I just got the Molly Mc Butter cheese sprinkles and can't wait to try those on something.... anything.. !

Anyway - officially... HI to all, and I suspect I'll be posting here more often

Lily Loves: your pic cracked me up. I wear a white watch and bought new black suede knee high boots yesterday. Still the same weight this morning but I am fasting most of today as I am going out tonight. I already know what I will order so i will be OK.

My mom is coming up for the holiday. She is a task master, 5' tall and 105 lbs. so it will be good fr me to stick to the diet.

Candy Coated Symphony: where are you?? I am sending good thoughts your way.

Heldenmommy Welcome!! I am glad you'll be posting often. The more the better. It;ll keep us all encouraged.

Lilly lover i saw your picture and you look beautiful even though i cant see your face. Also stay motivated your so freakin close! Maybe you should be drinking more water on veggie days? EVeryone says they dont lose on veggie but i do even though its only a lb.

Sophiesnowangel Are you still on beads or just doing your own thing? And what is your goal weight?

As far as my weight i have yet to weigh myself. I have had only two perfect days in the last week but i am doing well so far. Ill weigh in either tomorrow or sunday and let you all know. Itll probably be sunday. Good luck everyone and have a wonderful weekend!

Also i was thinking that maybe by the end of december or mid december we can all post pictures of our progress or goal weight? I think it will be motivating. What do you all think?

Hi, HeldenMommy! The milk soup recipe is on the website with the other recipes, but I'll repost it for you as it's a bit hard to find.

Milk Soup (Gilda)

8 to 10 oz milk in saucepan
Add 1 teaspoon onion powder
½ teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon Xanthan Gum
Lots of pepper
Salt to taste

Whisk well and whisk while heating; lovely creamy chowder-like soup.
(You can add whatever spices or seasoning you like)

I didn't have the xanthan gum, but all that does is thicken the soup. It was really good! I used minced garlic and it made it seem more substantial as well. This recipe is also missing the WF alfredo sauce--I put about 3-4 tablespoons in before I heated it all up in the microwave. This may be my new favorite milk day treat! A sweet yogurt would balance this out well, I think.

Sophiesnowangel, that watch is one of my favorite accessories ever. I always get compliments on it, and it's actually a pretty good reminder of my weight loss--I've had to get a link taken out already because it just got too loose! My suede over the knee boots are also so fun, but they do tend to slip down a little because they're slip on boots without a zipper. It's so good that you have a supportive family member for this diet. It's really hard for me when I go home because all anyone does is cook delicious food.

Lose25, you're so nice!! Your comment made my day. I will try to drink more water on veggie days. Good luck on your weigh-in! And I'm totally fine with posting pics around that time--I think it's a great idea.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

I have to say it is quite intimidating to post a message among many who are under 150, when my weight is signifcantly more than that.

Question: IF eating after 6PM is unavoidable (due to weakness/cravings, etc.) then how detrimental is it just to have more milk or veggies, depending on the day? In other words, if I HAVE to have something after 6, wouldn't it be preferable to just have more milk or veggies?

If anyone has any scientifcally based references for the importance of 12-6, I'd appreciate seeing that. I understand that even people who work graveyard can only eat 12-6PM.

Hi Annleslie! Please don't be intimidated--we really are a great crowd and have come from all sorts of backgrounds and obstacles, so everyone is welcome, of course!

As for the after 6 stuff, I would say just have some sugar-free jello and maybe add crystal light to your water. I know that really helps me. If the one serving of jello (1/4 of a packet) is not enough for you, I think it's ok to have more than that on occasion. It's better to cheat with jello than other things. I hope that helps!

Default Intimidated by weighing over 150?!!

Annleslie-

Oh Honey, I came out of the *womb* at more than 150 and am not even trying to get NEAR that for my goal! Check my stats.. I'm 6' tall, and at the moment, over 300 lbs. (wow, totally just wrote that "out loud". Bleh!) My mini goal is to get under that by Christmas. As of this morning, I was about 15 lbs away.. From there, I'm working on another 50. Do *not* be intimidated by what you have to lose. This is what we're doing here! Some folks have a little to lose, some folks (hand WAY up in the air) have a lot. We'll *all* get there, and it's so nice to have folks to lean on and get ideas from! You can do it!

Thanks for the welcome and HeldenMommy, LOL on your womb joke!

1) I do not care for the AW email list either. They offer very harsh support, if that's what you like. I, myself, need more nurturing.

2) Does anyone here have struggles with cooking for and feeding kids and family, all the while trying to avoid BLTs and straying?

I do for sure, and wanted to know some tips. One of my greatest obstacles by far is that I hate being wasteful with food and my kids get finicky sometimes and don't finish what they put on their plates, so I become the garbage disposal. It's not that I am hungry or even feeling a craving. It is just hating to see it all go to waste. My kids are so picky that storing food and reheating/reserving it later is not an option. They want everything to be freshly made.

3) Another obstacle is not having the "in-person" support that you're lucky to get if you go into an AW office. My teen son helps me put on my beads, but constantly criticizes The Bead Diet and believes I am harming myself via starvation. He is stubborn and won't listen or reason. But, it makes it tough, if you know what I mean.

UGHHH I cheated tonight!! *facepalm* I think I just got so discouraged because I've been at 133 for four days in a row now. What messed up thinking though, like eating off-plan is going to remedy that problem!

Annleslie, I can't really help with the family cooking situation since I'm a college student living in a dorm, but I do sympathize with the lack of in-person support. I feel like if I had to go to an AW office, I would feel more accountable and stick to it more. That's why I come here so often--I want to be accountable to someone, even if it's only online.
