I had been debating for months whether or not to get Turbo Jam, and I finally got it from QVC. I did the Learn and Burn on Sat., and tonight I did the Learn and Burn, then I went right into the Twenty Minute Workout. I didn't get all of the steps perfect, but I kept moving! This is very doable for me, and I'm 55 years old and not very athletic. I've been doing the WATP tapes for a couple of years, so this was a next great step. Thanks to everyone for their great posts, they've been very helpful! For those of you who are still thinking about getting Turbo Jam, I highly encourage you to give it a try!! :carrot:

This is the link that I have to individual workouts but I don't see the newer ones on the list. Hopefully they will add them soon.

Newbie loving Turbo Jam

Hi Everyone, I'm a 42 y/o old mother of one (teenaged daughter) with 50 lbs. to lose.:( I've tried just about every type of exercise equipment and program available, but always fell off the wagon due to boredom. I had been eyeing the TJ DVDs since Dec. 2005, but hesitated 'cause I just didn't want to be disappointed again. Long story short, TJ was finally offered on QVC and I couldn't resist...also figured that I could always return them if I hated the workout. Man, was I pleasantly surprised...I love, love, love TJ! I started out with learn & burn for two days, then quickly proceeded to Cardio Party. Anyway, just wanted to say "hello" to everyone and share my enthusiasm for TJ.:carrot:

Now, I need to figure out the best way to manage food and I'm on my way.;)

KK I am up to doing the Burn and TS everyday. The Burn makes me sweat more than the 20 minutes for some reason. My off day is Friday. So, I am working out 6 days a week. I am going to stay away from the scale until my one month mark. I pray you are enjoying your workouts. Keep it up:)

Welcome to all the Newbies. You're gonna love TJ~

I just watched the infomercial for TJ this morning. I want it too! I also have Tae Bo as well, but have done that in years. I plan on incorporating a couple of nights of some kind of video or dvd work out into my exercise routine. I want to get some yoga in there too. I need range of motion work. :)

Thanks for the tip on TJ, I am very interested. They have the videos on Ebay as well.

Yeah, yeah, yeah! I've only been doing the Learn and the 20-min workouts over the last week...haven't really done that much to change my eating, except to watch my portions and try not to snack so much at night...and yesterday, I had a friend come by who hasn't seen me since the end of April, and what were the first words out of her mouth? "Wow...you look like you've dropped some weight! What's up?" I nearly cried. I haven't seen anyone else who hasn't seen me in a while since starting this routine. So she's the first (but hopefully not the last) person to mention a difference. Of course I told her about TJ.

I have been doing the 20-Minute DVD for the last couple of days, and in today's session, I finally Got The Hang Of It! I couldn't believe it...I was doing all the little hops and claps and everything, right on time too! I know it's such a little thing, but it makes me feel so much better when I feel like I've mastered something that seemed so daunting a couple of weeks ago. My form still leaves a lot to be desired, but hey, I'm working on it.

Listen, I'm not a testimonial kind of gal, but I have to tell you all, I was actually Grinning and Laughing with delight while I was working out this morning.

Am going to try the Cardio Party tomorrow morning. I need to get it rolling so I can start my 10-Day program next Wednesday. By the way, I've got two other Jammers ready to take that on starting next week...is anyone else game?

Zennifer, that's wonderful! Isn't it great when your hard work pays off? I know what you mean about getting the moves down. It feels so good to be able to keep up with them. Keep up the good work! :high:

Has anyone bought the "maximum results" package? What is the "Surprise Workout" that comes with it?

thanks!

New to TJ

Hi ladies! I've had TJ for 2 days now and did my second Learn and Burn today. It really hurts doing the tuck. My left knee and upper thighs burn so bad that I have to take a break. I know I'm really out of shape. I'm 5'0 at 150 trying to get to 130 hopefully by mid summer. Is it supposed to hurt this bad at first? Does it get easier? I won't quit but I got a lil frustrated when I couldn't even do the L & B. I did the moves much better than yesterday so I know I'll get those down eventually (I have 3 left feet) but it's the tuck position that just hurts so much. There is nothing wrong with me physically so I don't know why the left knee hurts so much. Just need a little advice. Thanks! Elaine

I think the surprise video is a Yoga Booty Ballet - but I could be wrong. That is what they were sending when they ran out of the gloves. I have the gloves but I think I'm going to look for a pair at Target - I don't really care for Beachbody's.

Elaine, you will be sore. I would stretch before you workout out - especially the one where you put your heel out in front of you. That will get the quads (front of thighs). As far as your knee hurting - it sounds like your foot might not be angled or you are putting your knee past your toes instead of having it be right above the ankle. And if your knee is going past your foot - it could be making the quads sore too. Can you do the Elite 11 moves in front of a mirror or see your reflection somewhere? That helps me to make sure I have the right form. Good luck. It will come. As far as the tuck - I don't know why it would be sore unless it is just because you are using the core and ab muscles that aren't use to that movement yet. Does it hurt low, middle or higher up on the stomach?

I had the problem of what I thought was my knee hurting a little over a month ago. I was at my doctor's appt for my son and just asked him about it. He said that it was probably because I was doing cardio every day. My muscles weren't used to it. He thought that maybe it wasn't my knee, but the muscle from my thigh that went to my knee (don't know the name of it). He told me to stretch it out more and that should help. From that point, I started doing the stretch that you reach forward and grab your ankle with the other hand and bring your hips forward (hope that makes sense). That really helped. I don't have the problem anymore.

It may not be your knee. Try stretching more and it may help. It helped me.

Good Luck!

I finally got it

Thanks for the advice

Thank you connorsmom and RachelleS. It's not the tummy that's hurting during the tuck but my knee and upper thighs. I'm sure you're right that it's not the knee itself but more likely the muscle from the thigh. I will take more time stretching first. Right now, my lower back is a bit sore but not much else. Thanks for the good advice ladies! I can't wait to just check my measurements at the end of the month! Elaine
