I'm new to the community as well, with about 25 lbs to lose. I'm not really sure what sort of diet will fit me, but I have a feeling if I stop eating fast food and processed food (no kitchen in my apartment) and work out a bit more, I will be well on my way. Nice to meet everyone.

20 lbs to go.
Hi, I've also posted some threads elsewhere, so apologies if this is in anyway redundant... I am a mother of a toddler and gained 60lbs during pregnancy. The first 40lbs came off relatively quickly, but the last 20lbs are just hanging around. My goals are portion control and exercise--both of which seem so much harder with a child (I'm just so tired at the end of the day that I don't really want to exercise or spend much time cooking, and usually v hungry).

Hello all!
I'm brand new to the forum. I figured here looked like a good place to start and to post a bit of an intro. I am currently at the highest weight I've ever been (150lbs!) and I have a tiny frame size so this is not good for me and I have finally decided I want to do something about it. I want to lose about 20lbs (my aim is not to go overboard or to do it dangerously or unhealthily as um.. I've had issues with that in the past lets say ) so that's why just the 20lbs and I'm hoping by being here I can hold myself accountable and do this healthily
Everyone seems really friendly and welcoming here and I'm looking forward to getting to know you all

Hi Im wondering if this thread is still active? I am new here and have about 20 lbs to lose. I have not braved the scale yet.... sometimes it can discourage me too much so Im going to wait a little bit before I weigh in. So far today has been pretty good, healthy breakfast and did a little bit of exercise. Needing support to stay on track.
Painted Butterfly, i also want to do it in a healthy way. Ive gotten sucked into all kinds of crazy ideas in the past. Look forward to being on this site.

I would like to lose about 7-10 lbs, but if I stay this 123 it's still way better than my 143 weight! Glad to find this forum, because I can really relate to a lot of the topics on featherweights!!

new featherweight
Looking for advise from someone who has conquered losing twenty pounds. I weight 143 and this is the heaviest I have been. I think being recently placed on depression meds has caused my weight to creep up. My goal weight is 118-123. Any suggestions on how to make this happen would be greatly appreciated. It seems really tough when you are not extremely overweight to get one pound to come off.

Welcome to The Featherweights and to 3FC... It is much more difficult for us Feathers to lose 20 lbs, but it can be done with a lot of sweat and persistance, join us on the main page of the Feathers, Choose a Thread and join in the coversation...

Hi everybody!!
I just realized I "qualify" as a featherweight now. Ha! Never thought that would happen.
My story (short version I promise): I signed up at 3FC last January and started using an older WW formula to lose weight. In summer I switched to calorie counting (myfitnesspal) and just before Christmas I hit my original goal of 165 lbs. 72lbs lost.
Over Christmas I gain a bit back but this morning I reached 165 lbs again. I am ecstatic because I have never been anything but overweight or obese.
So this normal BMI weight is something totally new to me :-)
I want to try for another 10 - 15 lbs and get really fit. I started Capoeira recently which is more than exciting. I always admired Capoeiristas but it never ever crossed my mind that I might even remotely be able to do that.
Now I know I can do anything I want to and it is the most amazing and freeing feeling! And 3FC more than helped me realize that!
I can't wait to explore the featherweight section :-)

Hi, I just joined. I need to lose about 25 more pounds to feel like I'm in a healthy place, but I'd like to lose ~45 for what I consider my ideal size. My main goal is to just be physically fit by the time I'm 35 (in November). I used to be a runner and into yoga before I had my kids. Don't really want to be a runner again, but I'd like to be capable of it if I wanted to.

Great!
Glad I found this, was thinking I was going to be scoffed at for needing to lose so little. Good to see there are others like me.

Hi everyone! I'm a featherweight I've never really needed to lose a lot of weight but I'm looking to drop about 15 pounds. I've always been pretty confident with myself, except for my body image. So these 15 are *hopefully* gonna change that! I'm excited to have this forum and fellow featherweights to talk to ^.^
