    Hello Everyone!

So glad to find the featherweights forum. I have set a goal of losing 10 pounds, and getting to a weight of 127 -- which for me really means fluctuating between 125 and 130.

I spend most of my time up and down between 132 and 137, but it occurred to me in the past few weeks that there is no reason I can't be below 130 if I am willing to make a commitment to eating healthier and exercising more regularly.

Eating is definitely my big hurdle. I have a sweet tooth and have gotten in the habit of indulging it EVERY DAY. Cutting out sweets and snacking will be a big challenge but I hope will reap some tangible rewards on the scale.

I have always been one to exercise maybe 3x/week, so I am trying to commit to 4-5 runs per week with walks on 1-2 days. I have just overcome a hip injury that kept me from running for 8 months. My hip is 98% but my knee is giving me trouble.

I look forward to getting to know everyone here, benefiting from your support, and giving support to others!
  • Hi, all!

I've been lurking on 3FC for a few months already, and have found everyone's stories so great that I just had to join in the discussion, encouragement, and support.

I've lost a bit more than 20 pounds in the last four months or so (yep, I was one of those 'lost weight' New Year resolution people!), and in the process, learned a lot about nutrition and fitness (including the fact that before, I really knew nothing at all!).

Right now I'm looking to get off the last few pounds, and then see how I feel before deciding what my ultimate goal should be. Woohoo!

  • Hey, everyone!

The tortoise method has worked well for me so far so I'm happy to be a feather with small, manageable goals. I've lost 13 kg (28 lbs or whatever that is) since August and most of it was done in 4 months because since Christmas I've mostly maintained until last month due to an injury (it not only prevented walking and diligent shopping, but I also couldn't stand around in the kitchen to cook all that much.) Luckily, low(ish) carb works for me so I gained very little and maintained instead.

I'm back to my feather goals and I'm perfectly happy with 3 or even 2 pounds lost by June 11th, the day I pack my bags for a long-awaited trip. I know it's harder to lose weight as we get older so I try to make my overall goal for a three year period and work with mini goals instead. Ideally, by the time I'm 30 I should not be above 72kg (159 lbs.) and that gives me a lot of time to go sloooowly and adapt to a changed lifestyle. That's only 7 kg away and depending on how I do I might move my goal a bit lower, but I'm happy if I hit that and maintain by and after 2013.

That's got to be the least ambitious goal anywhere on this site so this is the place for me!
  • Hi there Blackberry Fields
  • I have about 4 more pounds that I need to lose (motivational goal from my parents: 10 pounds lost between May 26th and August 1st, and I get to see a Celtic Woman concert) and 14/24 pounds that I want to lose.

So, it looks like this is the place for me!!!
  • Hi Jusmine and

    Hello everyboday!
My name is Shay and I'm very new to this whole message board thing but I'm gonna try it cause I need some more support. My starting weight was 154 and I'm currently 149 and I would like to get down to about 130. I am a full time student in college and also have an almost full time job at a fast food place where I get all my food for free (great for budget NOT for weightloss). I've done a really good job of cutting out almost all fast food but my downfall lately has been going out with friends to the local sports bar where I proceed to eat and drink everything I can get my hands on lol. But anyways, I am really looking forward to this new type of support, have a great day!

    Hi there!

Newbie to 3 fat chicks but definitely not a newbie to weight loss. I have lost and gained my 25 pounds twice already. I hope that the three times a charm thing is true. Now that I am 30 years old it seems to be soooo much harder.
