Ian, I saw on the daily thread that you want to do Day 1 before your trip. I think you should! It's not as hard as I thought it was going to be. It's like the lure into the program saying "Oh it's not so bad, I'll commit to this." and then boom, a few weeks in you are hooked and sore!!! But the rush from the accomplishment and pride is priceless.
OK. I'll do it on Friday (I want to do weights at the gym tomorrow). The rest of the C5K may have to wait until I get back though unless the gym in the hotel has a treadmill. Which will be a first because I have never used a treadmill. At home I can, and will, use the running track in the town.
I'm hoping your insight that my walking will help er...will help!

You are going to do awesome! You are one of the most determined people on this site!!
And if I thought it was going to hurt you, I would really tell you before going on a business trip!!
I redid W5D2 tonight, without the stroller this time, and it went perfectly! I'd say the first three minutes of running were the hardest. When the second 8 minute run was over I was all "already?". I felt so good! Next is the big test: W5D3!!!

Congrats!
Sorry for being absent the last couple of days but life got crazy for the weekend and I was avoiding the treadmill again.
But ****HOLY MOLY**** I did W5D3 and survived! I wanted to cry after the first 10 minutes but sucked it up and made it through! I did cry afterwards though!
Congrats "Elvis" for moving on. I look forward to starting W6.
I feel like a runner now!
MSEMDEE: That's awesome! I feel like W5D3 is such a big deal, I'll really feel like a runner when I can do it!
I have to agree. I was terrified of the huge jump from day two to day three. I needed to really syke myself up but now I BELIEVE that I can finish this!
I know you will do well. Just do the best you can and then push for just a bit more. You are incredible and prove it everyday.
I just finished my first run in the rain. Week 5 is officially finished. I feel like for me that is the biggest accomplishment. I think the rain really helped the run as it kept me nice and cool.
I know for most of you the end of week 5 means completing a 20 minute run, but since I'm using a completely off brand app that was not the case. In fact I just checked and I don't have a 20 minute run till week 7! Next week if full of 10 and 15 minute runs. This is making me feel a little less accomplished starting week 6, but I'm not sure I'm ready for 20 minutes yet. I like that my app is taking the slow and steady approach. I think, I hope I will be able to run 5K at the end of this.
