Hello!

I'm still here too! I just did my cardio which was xbox-Zumba Rush. I picked to do a workout class option-medium. A bit ambitious since I don't do it regularly anymore. Well it said 11 classes and I thought how bad could it be. Well 7 songs in my arms were dying on account of yesterday's weight workout I guess. This class was almost an hour long! I didn't know that when I started. So I burned 742 calories per my heart rate monitor.

I'm off to eat and get dressed to go out to a birthday party.

That's great, losingit. I got back a little bit ago from a walk to Bed Bath and Beyond. Put a little over 7,000 steps on my pedometer today. Feel so happy after I walk.

Oh boy! I went way over on calories and carbs today. Oh well, that's what I get for eating spaghetti. At least it was with olive oil and no cheese.

Gonna have to call Jillian to the rescue for sure! If I gain that 2 pounds back I will lose it.

novangle, nope...don't lose it. Acknowledge it and adjust for next week. I just got home and guessed a calorie number for what I ate at the birthday party and was under calories. I just made a protein shake and the carbs totaled 50 with this new berry protein powder I'm using along with the frozen strawberries. That is a bummer to have so many carbs so close to bedtime.

Sanity, wow, you really got a good walk workout in. Good going!

Got in about 45 minutes of step aerobics today. The plan for tomorrow is P90x Legs and Back plus TurboFire Upper 20.

Good morning all Happy Monday!

Philly, you find the best stuff online. I love the Cut-the-Fat site. What's resonated with me is the benefits of exercise that have nothing to do with the scale. About seeing it as 'play' like when we were kids... AS you say...just keep movin'

I think I'll venture back to the gym this week for a couple of sessions.
I have a pilates class tomorrow.
It will be a good week.

Stay happy everyone !

Happy Monday Everyone!

Today was my early day to get out of the house so no exercise before work. Come to think of it, most days I don't do it before work so why do I keep saying that...lol. Today I'm to start the week 3/4 workouts so it is a new type of torture from Jillian.

Sanity, I am so glad you found it useful. I often wonder if the things I post are being used by somebody. I still post hoping that it will be of benefit to the lurkers even if no one says anything. Funny thing is that I downloaded many episodes, but never listened to them until recently. Jillian spoke of "play" in one of her recent podcasts too. So when I heard the cut the fat podcast it just brought the message home for me. I played zumba on xbox the other day and yes it was for exercise, but I had a ball playing it and burned mad calories in the process.

I wasn't able to get around to working out last night, I have a feeling that was a really bad decision I will soon regret when I get on the scale. I feel so bloated today. Darn it.

I'm working out tonight for sure.

If you must get on the scale, why not wait a few additional days before getting on the scale. I would definitely not get on when I know there's a bloat situation.

GROUP QUESTION:
I've not worn heels in some time. Well last night in heels really irritated my newly pedicured footsies. The ball of my left foot, in the middle, is very tender. I am determined to do my workout though or should I use today as my rest day? What do you ladies think?

Philly Can you switch it out for a workout that doesn't require a lot of pressure on your feet? Pilates maybe?

Agreed Pilates would be a good choice for today...

"... yes it was for exercise, but I had a ball playing it and burned mad calories in the process..."

So...is it that once we get to be 'adults' it's 'exercise' and not 'play' because we're concerned about our weight/health? I remember when I was a kid coming home all dirty and sweaty from rollerskating, hanging off the jungle-gym, and doing things that were pretty intense. And that was play. So what's the diff now do you think...

Agreed that we used to make our own fun. Passing by a playground the other day in my old neighborhood and looking at the flag pole that used to slide down, but we walked on a ledge to get to the flag pole. Of course it didn't dawn on us that we were up at least two stories. We also slide down the drainage path of a very steep hill on trash bags. We did so much growing up and if our parents only knew...lol.

I think now its about labels. I could have said "I played xbox-zumba and got my exercise for the day or simply that it was fun". But the forefront thought was exercise and that's what I equated that activity with. So, it seems I labeled it.

This is an interesting topic.

As far as my exercise thanks for the suggestion, but after taking my sneakers off I think I will soak in epsom salt and then elevate them.
