I bought a new par of training shoes today. I was getting blisters on my toes and I'm pretty sure if was from sliding around in my old shoes during plyo work. Looking forward to breaking them in!
Today I'm planning for P90x yoga, though I'm probably going to have to modify quite a bit. My legs are sooo sore and I remember this workout has a lot of long lunge poses.
Just did P90x Yoga but skipped the last 10 minutes (it is an hour and a half video though ), followed by Chalean Extreme Burn 2 skipped the cooldown, and finished it with 20 minutes of gentle step aerobics.
Eeep! Monday again. Where are my weeks going? Well, at least it's warming up.
How is everyone doing?
Today I'm planning for P90x Plyo but it will very much depend on what my energy is like this afternoon. I might switch in something less intense instead. We'll see.
playfulturtle - Glad you dropped in! Personally, when I tried to do the P90x program by itself I hated it. Even though I was switching out some of the workouts for TurboFire. I need variety, so while I still love the workouts I use them in conjunction with many other videos so I don't burn out.
Maybe you can buy yourself a cute calendar and some stickers, write down the workouts on the calendar dates and give yourself a star (or whatever other cute sticker) on the days you complete the planned workout. A childish thing I know, but I like things like that! You could also plan a reward if you get a certain percent of days with stickers and write that somewhere visible on it.
I did do P90x Plyo. Oh my burning lungs! (And thighs, and calves...) I could tell I was better at it than when I did it last summer though! So that's encouraging. I felt like I needed and extended recovery so I put on Bodystrikes 2 but didn't go deep/high into any of the moves (though I doubt I could have if I tried, did I mention my burning thighs? ) and kept my heart rate down.
I hope everyone's Monday was great! Not used to it being so quiet in here.
Wow, I can't believe I didn't post yet. I didn't get around to posting on my blog either. Today was Jillian-workout 1. I was supposed to move onto week 3, but I'm going to redo Weeks1-2 because I don't feel conditioned enough to move on.
Novangle, you are on a streak with Jillian!! Woohoooo!
Bunneh, I didn't know you were into plyo. Wow, that's a whole other level. Jillian has some plyo stuff in her workouts later on in the program. I do some of the moves, but I do modify to a point.
Morning all !
Woke up this morning wanting to be better. Gotta do more than walk to break this plateau and realize my potential! Stop using exercise dvds for inspiration and start being my own inspiration. Phase 2: my Get Moving schedule for the next 5 pounds:
Philly Plyo is really, really hard especially at first. (Imagine about 50 minutes of just plyo. ) As long as you're doing any of it you'll keep getting better and it will get easier. And modifying is great! It's the only way I've been able to get better at very difficult exercises - do as much as I can then modify so I can finish. It looks like you're doing really good with Jillian. Keep it up!
Sanity That's an awesome looking schedule! Looks tough. Way to go on challenging yourself to a new level!
Today I'm planning to try P90x Back and Biceps, plus TurboFire Lower 20, and maybe P90x Ab Ripper as well. Now, I don't know if I'll actually be able to finish all of that, but I'm going to try. Tomorrow I'm going to take it easy.
My workout is scheduled for after work today. Just as I was getting used to my schedule this hour change is throwing me off.
Sanity, you can do it! I don't have bodystrikes, but Iliaria is an excellent instructor.
bunneh, wow, that's an ambitious schedule.
My lats are sore today. I went up in weight and used 8lbs for most upper body stuff on yesterday's workout. Tonight is workout 2 from the program. Now, for some happy news. I'm out of the 200's! I weighed this morning and I'm 199.6...yeah! So for doing Jill's program for two weeks and seriously cleaning up my diet and logging into sparkpeople at first now I use myfitnesspal I've lost 7lbs so far.
I didn't think that I would want to get back into logging my food because I was such a stickler before and it became a chore. But, there's no denying the benefit of knowing where your wasted calories are and getting the most bang for your calories.
Bunneh & Philly, thanks for your support. I have to say that reading the posts on this thread has been an important factor in my realizing that I want to step it up in my training (code for I'm embarrassed by my underachievement )
Philly, congrats on seeing the 19's...you have definitely earned it!
I am following the lean schedule so I did core synergenics yesterday, and cardio x today. I am still sore but I can still walk around and function. I can't finish any of the workouts in entirety. But I'm expecting to improve in the next few weeks, since they repeat the weeks.
Philly Congrats on being under 200 and on the higher upper body weight!
Sanity Don't be embarrassed! When I first started regular exercise a few years ago just walking every morning made me feel like I was going to die. We all have to start somewhere and all that's important is you're doing your best and reaching for a new level when you can. You're doing great.
Turtle Good work! Keep doing as much as you're able and you'll keep getting better.
I did do all three workouts, but I was only able to complete half of Ab Ripper even though I modified. Now I think I might have to go take a nap.
Workout done! I have to say I struggled with tonights workout for some reason. I know I didn't get as much sleep, but doing it in the evening I thought I would have had more energy.
Music, I know you are still moving even with not posting. I hope your new major isn't stressing you out.
Missjean, Adaem, I hope you are doing well
It's too warm here suddenly. I think I'll have a smoothie protein shake for dinner.
