I don't know when the last time I posted here was, but...it's true, I haven't run for the past couple of days. But last Saturday I did
+26.2!
Yes! I did my marathon! I did it in almost exactly the time I planned for (I'd aimed for 5 hours, my official time was 5:06:00) and I'm so excited that I finally did it!
(I want an explanation for why I've GAINED 2 pounds since the marathon. Excuse me? This is so unfair!)
Of course, I immediately set my new fitness goal, which is to do my next marathon, in late October, in 4:30. Because I know me: if I reach a goal, my next goal is to sit on the couch and eat bon-bons, and I can't do that.
Congratulations, great job! And you know why you're up 2 pounds of water -- it was a mammoth effort and your muscles are retaining water like crazy to repair!
diane - congrats!!!! i've been waiting to hear how you did!
i'm still kicking around. i've registed for the Multiple Sclerosis Bike Tour (i think it's only in canada?). It's August 17th and i'll be doing 200km over 2 days and i'm soooo excited! i have to raise some money but it's for an awesome cause. i got clipless pedals and fell over twice today when i was stopped at lights. the only negative about living downtown is the 20km+ commute to get the **** out! my knee is bruised but nothing compared to how awesome clipping pedals are for speed and climbing hills
Angie and I did 4 miles down the beach with the mutts this morning.
DIANE...LOL...when I trained for a marathon back in 2001 (Angie and I walked it in 5:43 & change) I received the "trophy" for most weight gained during training! I walked over 400 miles in training and gained weight...I was pretty hungry!
You ladies are all doing so well
I hope you collect a ton of money for the cause SM177
4.5 this morning, 3 Thursday morning. I'm going VERY slowly, as my hips are still sore from the marathon -- other parts of my legs, not so much, which really surprises me, but my hips are still quite sore.
