Thanks everyone! I went back to work today and nearly everyone asked how my race went. My favourite question obviously being "did you win?". I did a slow 2 miles today, not sure how to recover but will most likely take it easy all week.

ennay how is the streaking working out for you?

sm- 36 days and counting! I am really liking it. There was one day last week that was rough because I had done tooo many treadmill miles too fast. But I did a super slow 8 miles and the next day I felt more rested and felt fine for my long run and the day after my long run I felt totally fine. So I recovered while running...awesome!

Truthfully that is a lot of what triggered me to streak. When I first added a run the day after the long run and the day before the long run I realized how much better I recover if I run slow rather than rest. I'm now one of those crazies who not only warm up BEFORE a race but now run AFTER the race as well. I had almost zero drag on tuesday after a race on Monday.

I was already up to 6 days/week when I started streaking because I was tired of feeling like a slug all day on my rest day. I need just a little run to rev me up and wake up.

3 fast miles today (fartleks on the uphills, some recovery on flats, flew down the downhills). I realize that I probably don't push myself enough on my runs with my running partner. No way could I have carried a conversation today, but I often can when I run with my partner.

Enjoy that mom and daughter time dear! It will be over far too soon...trust me!

The kidnapper actually took my daughter on a cruise for their 2nd Anniversary, this past Tuesday, they got home tonight. She is running the San Diego Rock and Roll Marathon on Sunday so just like him to screw up her months of practice by taking her on a cruise But what do you expect from a guy that thinks coaching tennis for a living is a freakin' job! Son is doing well. He and his wife just bought a home 1.5 miles from me and it actually is just around the corner from the kidnapper's mom's house. My kids are well...son and daughter in law still teaching high school history, son boys track coach, dil is the girl's dance coach and made the "Charger Girls" for another year of waving pom-poms, daughter still a scientist working with Navy SEALS and pilots... sil cooks better than me now....
