We must have been typing at the same time Trish so you didn't see my edit that Wal-Mart called and said someone found my pills and returned them to the pharmacy. We went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner then went to Wal-Mart to retrieve my meds. We also needed new ink cartridges for our printer.

At Texas Roadhouse we saw a friend of DH. He used to be quite heavy. When he got married his wife talked him into having weight loss surgery and he got very very thin. A few years ago his wife passed away and unfortunately he has now regained a lot of his weight. He is not as big as he originally was but he's gained a lot. I hope he doesn't gain the rest of it back. He was alone so I don't know if he's dating someone else or not.

Trish,I remember when you were diagnosed with cancer, but what was it that led them to check for cancer? I don't remember you having any particular issues. A friend of mine went thru treatment for ovarian cancer and she was checked because her mother had also had it.

Ok sleep.. Scale says 179. I don't know why. I took 1/2 fluid pill yesterday. Early. When I went to bed right ankle was very puffy but it was too late to take Lasix. I would have been up all night. This morning, puffiness was gone. Ring is a little tight. I think I'm ok. I have to get back to taken them both daily.

Today is primary Day in peanut I forgot to mail our ballots. I don't want to go so far to put them in a drop box. I might just pass this time.

Carol Sue I went in the hospital throwing up and unable to hold anything down and couldn't get it under control on my own. They just ran a lot of tests to see what was wrong and found cancer.

I am glad you got your Lasix. I'm not sure I am going to need to take my Lasix much any more. I will take it the way I did originally "as needed". I ate breakfast yesterday morning and then decided to drink a can of tomato juice. It has a lot of lycopene when fighting cancer and I've been craving it. I think there was something wrong with it or my stomach was already upset and I didn't know it. I never was able to eat after that and finally threw up and had potty issues as well. I will be very careful with what I eat or drink today.

Weight this morning was 149.8 lbs, FBG 104, BP 112/61. Of course, the 149.8 probably won't stay but it is nice to see. I've decided that I'm not going to follow anyone's diet. I am 80 yrs old and don't want to spend the rest of my life worrying about what I should or shouldn't eat. I just want to enjoy what I do eat. I prefer to eat a little bit of things I like and eat lightly. I have had a Protein Power this morning. Not sure what or if I will eat anything later. I think of all the drs I watch. I trust Drs. Westman and Berg and like Westman the most. That is just me

I hope I can start feeling good enough to get my exercise done today. I did get them done yesterday before I got sick.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Im sorry you were sick. Hope it was just a passing thing!

Wow! 149. Thats great, even if you bounce a bit. When was the last time you were that low? Over 40 years for me.

I was looking over Instagram and I see that I'm following Dr Berg. I don't know about Westman. It is all videos and I don't like videos so I don't go there much. I started watching because there's a lot of quick recipes.

______________

Yes,I see that Dr Westman is on there,Too. Its probably the same info as on hid website and YouTube.

Carol Sue I don't remember when I weighed that low. Actually the last time I remember weighing that low was when I got married to DH#2 in 1970. I remember weight 165 when DH#3 and I came home to visit the 1st time in 2003.

I would like to keep it going. I'm going to have to buy some new blouses pretty soon. The shirts I wear around the house I could wear as a short dress when it gets really hot here this summer. Still having a touch of pain in my stomach area. I want to see my oncologist and find out if that has anything to do with not having treatment. I think I may have t5o figure out a new woe so that I am eating a little bit at a time instead of 2 or 3 meals a day. I drank a shake this morning and another one this evening. DH got McDs and I put mine in a salad and it felt like too much. So I will have to shoot for a new woe.

Got the results of my Bone Density test and osteoporosis is worse which is no surprise because of cancer treatment. They must have a new medicine as Primary wanted me to take something I think they said twice a week, but I told them I wanted to wait until I see what oncologist says since they say the treatment causes it and he can treat me for it. I don't want more drs than necessary. I will see my oncologist on Thursday. As DH 1st wife's Mother use to tell me "and these are the golden years". She died 4 months before she turned 100 yrs old. A most wonderful Christian lady I ever knew other than my Mama. Loved her dearly.

So far so good tonight. I did get my exercises done this afternoon.

Scale back up to 179. Poor sleep. DH didn't feel well. He gets pain in his shoulder and wrist. I think its tendonitis. He thinks he got a tick in his thigh when he was cutting grass. It hurt all night and he was trying to get it out with a needle. The last time he had a tick he went to Med Express and they gave him a pill. I don't know if he will go today. Im so glad I don't spend much time in the yard. We get deer and other critters who carry fleas and ticks. Step daughter gets them too as she lives near woods too.

My left knee is starting to hurt now as well as the right. I do not want surgery. Wonder how Mad is doing?

I don't get my bone density checked. I have enough other problems.

Carol Sue I hope your DH finds out what is wrong. I wouldn't think it would be good to leave a tick in too long. DH #1 and I had a dog we had to get them out of once. He used the tip of a cigarette fire to pull them out. That is all I remember about them. Thank God never had any more problems with them.

My weight was 153 this morning of course I knew there was no way the 149.8 was real and my FBG was 112 I guess from carbs and BP was 122/64 I think it was. So BP is doing really good this days.

I emailed Primary doc to find out the name of the medicine he wants me to take so I can discuss it with my oncologist tomorrow. DH doesn't want me to take it but finally told me to do whatever I want to do. I told him I don't need to have some other problem to put on him because he does far beyond what any husband should have to do for his wife, so I probably will take whatever oncologist agrees for me to take hoping it will protect me from any falls or bad injury. It is a liquid called alendronate 70 mg and I would take it once a week. Side effects could be bad but I will just do what I always do pray and trust God to protect me from them. There are some things I want to discuss with oncologist before I decide to use it. I'm not sure how tomorrow will turn out. Don't know if he already has some other cancer treatment he will want to start as well as some bone medicine. In the meantime, I'm back to IF going for at least a 18 hr fast.

I've also been wondering about Fatmad. I hope things are going well for her.

Scale is up to 180 again. It's probably fluid because I didn't take a fluid pill yesterday. My feet were a bit puffy at bedtime.but too late to take a pill. They look normal this morning. Probably because my feet were elevated overnight. But I will take a pill today. I wish I could stop taking them but probably not because CHF is for life.

I am cooking sweet sausage in sauce in the slow cooker today. I hope my bell peppers are still good, I like to put them in with onions. If DH goes out I will have him pick up buns but we can eat it without buns.

DH chose not to see a doctor. He thinks he got the tick out but the problem is if they release venom into the blood. He said it hurts but thinks that's from digging with the needle to get it out. Last time they told him to put dish soap on it and it will back out itself.

Step son says there are no deer ticks in PA but I don't know if that's true. They are the ones that are bad. They cause Lime Disease in humans. Other ticks are harmless. We know the symptoms of Lime Disease and will watch for them. The main ones are headache and fever and could come 3-30 days after the bite.

Our lilacs are blooming so I am very allergic to them and will stay inside til they are done. If it was up to me we would get rid of them but DH likes them. They are pretty, but really get my allergies flared up.

Carol Sue Your DH will be okay.

I'm getting ready to leave to see what oncologist decides we do next. I've got a head ache not sure why. So neat that I am wearing nice clothes and I can see the weight loss. Still 153 this morning.

Trish, I do pray that DH is ok. I don't need this right now.

My sausage is cooking in the sauce with onions and peppers. For lunch I had onion, cabbage and rut aha agreed in butter. I love that combination. They all have health benefits. I chopped the cabbage and grated the Rutabaga but wish I had grated the cabbage.

my grandmother was recently diagnosed with it, and I want to understand more about it so that I can help her successfully. So far, she is doing fine, because we often consult with doctors and know that we have all the necessary medicines, so we feel calm for now

Hi mia0davis! Welcome to the Diabetes chat! Its good that you are helping your grandmother . Please y understand while meds are helpful, diet and exercise go a long way to correct blood sugar readings and lower A1c. Is your grandmother following a low, carb diet? Is,she ble to Exercise, even jut walking is very helpful. It helps to burn the excess sugar in the body. Its best to follow your doctors orders, but there is other helpful information available that most doctors don't discuss.

Were off to Walmart. I have a little list.

mia0davis Welcome. I personally believe can be controlled if we learn to eat and exercise. It is good you can help your grandmother.

Oncology appointment went very well. No infusion today. Turns out the Lisinopril I take heals protein in urine. It has been a month since I had last infusion so he has me doing another 24 hr urine test to see if the test is less than 2000. If it isn't back below 2000 g w\then I will take 4 weeks off from infusion and check to see if I can go back on the medicine then or have to do something else.

He also read the info on my bone density test and we are going to do an infusion once a year. He wants me to go to the dentist and get my teeth cleaned and any thing I need done before I do the bone infusion. So as far as I can tell everything worked out fine.

It dawned on me in the doctor's office that the stomach problem I've been having the past week or saw is probably the staten. I forgot that it causes stomach problems so I will stop taking it as of today to see if my stomach corrects on its own.

We got chicken on t he way home and I will probably have a protein shake later and have just a 2MAD today. I won't trach because I won't reach 1000 calories.

Trish, I'm glad your appointment went well and I hope they can figure out your meds. Its good that they are watching things closely.

We went to Walmart but I forgot my list. I almost forgot ketchup but remembered at the last minute. That was. one of the things we needed most. I got buns and we ate the sausage when we got home. I started buying sweet sausage instead of hot because it was too hot for us. We are wimps! We don't like spicy hot. The onions and peppers were nicely done too. I didn't make a side with it because we ate a package of Pringles on the way home!

Scale was 179 this morning. I slept pretty good til I woke up with a cramp in myrightcalf. It's always the right. Right away I rubbed it and it started to feel better. Then I rubbed the Theraworx into it and the pain went away. So just a minute or 2 compared to last time. But I guess I just can't take 40mg of Lasix, even if I split it into 2 20mg doses. I will continue with half a pill per day unless I notice swelling. There was a lot of sodium in the sausage I ate last night. Before I cook it I poke holes in it with a fork and simmer it in water. That should release some of the sodium and in the future I should only eat one, not 2, and eat a vegetable as a side. I like them too much to stop eating them altogether. We only have them a few times a year. There aren't a lot of things that we both like that are easy to prepare and not expensive.

DH will probably want to go to the casino today. Im keeping quiet.
