Scale today still 178 and I can tell from MFP that I am still overeating. Not only that, but I never feel hungry anymore. Im eating because its mealtime or the food is there. And eating more than my body is using. This is how I got to 217 in the first place. So I have to make some changes. Im not sure what they will be. One thing is stop popping things in my mouth when DH is eating, since we eat differently, different times. I don't know if he is gaining, too. He never says.

I hope you are able to get your infusuon, Trish. I don't understand how they decide but I hope conditions are right.

I tossed and turned all night again. I think this is from eating too much and too late. I know I sleep better on an empty stomach and I know everyone is different. I always slept on an empty stomach, especially when I lived alone and was at my thinnest. I figured my body can't truly rest if its digesting food. I thought I was doing that to keep my weight in line but it was also helping me sleep. Back then I was out like a light until my alarm went off. So that is one change I need to make.

DH just left for McDonalds so I guess we are having Egg menu grind for breakfast. I also think he is going to want to go to the casino. I don't eat dinner when we go, so that is one thing I need to consider. It seems that every thing I do these days centers around my weight.

My visit with oncologist was very good. As put by my oncologist, "We are very happy where we are because you have improved so very much". He said that a lot of my problems have been improved or stabilized. He hopes I will be able to continue using the medicine I'm on because I seem to tolerate it for now. He told me I need to eat protein even though there is during so I will be able to keep my protein replaced in the kidneys.

I also learned that the fatigue I have had for 2 days just happens after having CT Scans. I have slept all afternoon and I am ready to sleep some more. So I think I'll wrire more tomorrow. Have a good evening,

Scale went DOWN to 176 today! Probably because I didn't eat dinner last night. I had a bite of DHs hamburger and some home fried potatoes. But not enough to be considered a meal. I ate a lot during the day, still more than I should be eating. Part of that is because my breakfast should be enough to last me til dinner but DH makes lunch every day and I often eat some. I've been snacking on those bagels, too. The ice cream is gone and I hoped doesn't but more. I can't stay away from it. So I just have to do what I know I should.

Trish, im so glad you got such a good report at the doctors! You are eating well and exercising daily, and the meds seem to be doing their job. Thats wonderful! And the doctors can see the improvement in you! Prayers have been answered!

I''m still not sleeping great but last night was better. I'm back to taking magnesium at bedtime. That helps some. I'm not taking a full dose.

I'm running out of fluid pills but the doctor is not responding to the pharmacy request for a refill. I may have to call him. He has several offices, I'm not sure where they are sending the request. My PCP always responds right away.

Im not sure what we will be doing today. He doesn't usually go to the casino on Saturday. It gets too crowded.

I'm watching a cooking show on Public television and now I want to make Halushky. I might, because I have all the ingredients. Im watching to see if this is the show where they make Potato Kugel. There are recipes online but I think the one on the show is a little different. I know DH would like it.

Not much happening here today. Listening to YouTube videos about keto diets and cancer. I'm thinking about switching to low carb but not sure how low at this point. I am planning to wait and start whatever I decide to do after my Primary doctor's appointment on April 1sr. So will be reading a lot the next few days.

Headed to bed. Goodnight.

Its 4 am and ive been tossing and turning all night. I will be tired tomorrow and he will probably want to go to the casino. He asks every day and i say no. He wont go alone and i would worry about him if he did.

Trish,i feel that reducing carbs in the diet is always beneficial but the carb level need not be extremely low. Mine are running over 100 , too high right now, i like them below 60 or70.

Im going to try to sleep.

Finally got up at 11am. DH has been up for a few hours but I fell back to sleep. Scale says 175. This no dinner or small dinner is helping. Finally going in the right direction. All those years of not eating dinner I kept my weight down. I don't know why I let it go back up. If we go to the casino we will not eat dinner again except for the hot dog and fries he gets for the ride home. I usually eat a few fries.

Now he's cooking breakfast,or I guess its brunch.

Carol Sue There are so many things I wish I had continued doing as I can see how I ate normally even growing up would have kept me healthy. Oh well, no since and worrying over what might have been. I just have to do the best I can now. I should have continued fasting and keto/low carb when I started treatment. I let the team nurse convince me that cancer does not eat sugar and I finally fell in line with them and ate the way they said eat. I am thankful for where I am with things being stable, but I think I could have done better if I had continued doing what I had been doing with IF/LC especially as I am reading this Hack Chemo book by the lady who had ovarian cancer. She chose to do the 60 hr fast of 36 hrs before chemo treatment and 24 hr fast after. Then she ate keto the rest of the time. I don't remember my oncologist ever telling me what to do about eating but the hospital doctors and the oncology team always insisted that I had to eat.

I find it interesting that the dietitian who wrote this book seems to saying is that when you fast around the treatment it seems to protect the good cells because they become invisible to the chemo medicine so they don't become damaged like they do when you eat during treatment. I don't understand how it works but I know from Dr. Fung that the fasting is very good for my body because of the autophagy. I want to find info by the doctor who tested using the IF during treatment and the patients ate normal between the treatments. Then I will decide if I want to do it just using the 60 hr fast around the treatments and eat normal or low carb or do as she did eating keto. So more research to do along the way.

For peace of mind, I would just decide what day I wanted to go to the casino and just plan to do it once a week with him because I think the stress is making you tired. Just a suggestion... it is how I would have to do it.

Hope you have a good day whatever y'all do.

I've got to go wash my hair. I have lab at Primary Care tomorrow afternoon.

Trish, i have heard that sugar feeds cancer but it might depend on the type of cancer. My feiend who had colon cancer still gets checked but she is considered cancer free. She is a very big sugar eater, but after she was diagnosed with diabetes she ate low carb.. She still got cancer though. She was taking a drug and they said on tv that it caused cancer. You could even get money in a lawsuit if you took it and got cancer. I told her, but she said she was taking it til her doctor told her not to. Eventually she asked her doctor about it and he told her to stop taking it and start taking something else. But she got cancer not long after that. I think that drug caused her cancer. I cant remember the name of it.

i looked it up. It was Zantac. They told her to take it when she went to the hospital with chest pains. They told her it was not her heart, but indigestion. Now she takes Pepcid.

Casino was ok. We didn't win but brought all our money home. However, I dropped my glasses. I realised going out the door that I didn't have them. We went back to the machine we were playing and looked on the floor but didn't see them. I was so afraid someone would step on them As we walked back toward the door I spotted them on the floor. I'm glad I found them. I don't wear them all the time but like the frames. I want to use them if I get new lenses.

I ate onion rings at the casino. Too greasy and made me sick.

Good sleep, but the scale is up 3 lbs to 178. I really don't remember taking my fluid pill yesterday so that might be why. I will look in my pill box to see if its still there. I usually take it while we are at the casino then stay near the ladies room. Remember last time the ladies room in the food court was closed and I had to sit in the hallway near the other ladies room. It was open this time. I don't remember using it excessively yesterday. I have to be careful when I take it because there are no restrooms on that stretch of the interstate. One time we got off to find a rest room and got lost in a little town.

We went to Bob Evans for breakfast, then to Goodwill for senior day, then to Walmart. I got 2 prescriptions. I wanted carrots since DH And I are both eating them now.,but I wanted a 1 lb or 2 lb bag. All they had was 5 lb and DH told me to get then! Yikes. Lots of carrots! I know they are healthy. I didn't buy any meat because we will be going to the grocery store to get a ham for Easter. I think I will cook it and take half to step daughters. They are cooking a beef roast since SIL can't eat ham. I don't know if step son is coming. DIL and DGS are coming home from FL that day so I don't know what they are doing. I want to see DGS. I haven't seen him since Christmas and they grow and change so fast. I bought some cat food for step daughters cats. I was buying dog food and noticed they had what her cats like. They are often sold out. It amazes me that there are so many different cat foods and each cat only eats certain ones.

I would like to go to TX Roadhouse today. We will see.

______________________

We went and I ordered grilled pork chops with baked sweet potato and broccoli. The pork was, delicious. I ate one and brought the second one home for Rusty. He loves pork. I got full very quickly. I have half of my sweet potato and some broccoli for lunch tomorrow and maybe a bite of Rusty 's pork chop.

Today at Goodwill I got a ceramic clad cast iron Dutch Oven. . I've wanted one for a long time. I'm already looking for recipes to cook in it. DH found it and was guarding it til I could come over to see it. Several other ladies tried to move in and take it but her told them it was for me!

Trish, here is an article I found about the benefits of fasting during chemo treatments. There is a lot of terminology that I don't understand.

Carol Sue I'm glad you were able to get the Dutch Oven you've been wanting. Good thing DH saw it first. I hope you get to see your DGS.

We had a good day and I only ate one meal and 2 small snacks of a total of 1270 calories with carbs around 100 g. I am doing more of a moderate amount of carbs. Trying to eat closer to a low carb. I read that some people on cancer treatment do IF and eat whatever they want in between. I will probably do IF/LCarb eating.

Weight was down to 160.8 and FBG was 104. My BP is still a little high for me so I hope Primary Doc will change my BP medicine. The chemo med I'm on is causing my BP to go up. In fact, it is the cause of most of my problems.

Headed to bed soon. Don't have anything I have to do for the next of the week. Go to see Primary Doc next week.

Thanks for the link Carol Sue I will read it tomorrow.
