Fatmad Always good to hear from you. So sorry you are having difficulty sleeping and binging etc. Hope things get better for you.

Carol Sue Glad you got the doggy treats. What did they decide about your Hubby's car show he wants to go to? Are they going to wear masks?

Things went better today with my eating. I really enjoyed the spaghetti. I read more on the FB purple group and learned that WW coaches teach that you only have to track the food that have pts on WW site. I have noticed that while WW has certain food they call 0 pts but when scanned it gives a pt on some brands. I learned that anything on the WW Purple 0 pts list is 0 and that the pts I was seeing when scanned is for those on green and blue plans, but not for those of us on purple. However, when it comes to whole wheat and multigrain, we need to read labels and be sure they are 100 % whole wheat or whole grain in order to be 0 pts. I'm still learning things, but I am learning. Also I managed to stay within 8.5 hrs eating window. I am also thrilled to have lost 3 lbs in 2 weeks and look forward to seeing how I do as time goes on I have seen some others who are in 60s and 70s losing on the purple plan some say they lose slow but they lose. That is encouraging to.

Headed to bed. Good night.

Good to see you Mad. I think it will be a week or so before we see results from lack of social distancing. They announce yesterday that the new cases here are milder than before as if the virus is weakening. The deaths still are mostly in nursing homes, which isn't good, but indicates that in the general population it is milder. Maybe more like the flu.

In letters to the editor a man asked a Wal-Mart manager why people were allowed in without a mask and he said they will not force it while another store is refusing entry, following the law. Wal-Mart does not want to lose customers.

Wt is up .8 as I ate more calories yesterday. I am not upset because I know I did it. It will go back down.

Trish, I hope you continue to lose on purple.

Still 156 this morning, better than I deserve, but I will take it. I also really enjoyed those berries.
Have a half day Zoom meeting this morning, then I am on call for the next week. I miss my family so I hope I will be busy. DH will return on Tuesday or Wednesday with Buddy and I'd love to be busy until then, then have it quieter.

Hope you all have a good day as well

We are having trouble with our eggs. I usually have 3-4 dozen on hand at all times. The last couple weeks some of the yolks have been very firm and don't want to break when DH beats them for scrambled eggs. Another time I boiled them and the yolks were like rocks. I thought I cooked them too long. I googled and read that this can happen when the eggs are exposed to very low temperature. Possibly Wal-Mart is storing them too cold, or its our refrigerator. I think it might be. It's on the right setting but it might be malfunctioning. I am going to start buying eggs at the local grocery store even though they are more expensive. If it continues to happen then I will know it's my refrigerator.

No mention of the casino yet. I would be willing to give it a try on a week day when it is usually less crowded. If some people are not working they might have less money. I'm concerned about standing in line a long time waiting to get in. Being refused due to my cough. Waiting to get in the restrooms.

Well, I wrote this morning before I left. Most of it was saved when I got back so I updated and posting now.

Fatmad Glad you got an acceptable # on the scale this am. I know you will be glad to have Hubby and Buddy back home next week. I heard some of the cruise ships are going back to work. Will your DD be going back to work on one of them?

I do enjoy my fruit and that is one of the things I'm loving on WW is being able to eat fruit legally. Fruit and most veggies are 0 pts although I do try to be careful with serving sizes.

Weight the same today as yesterday and FBG is still good as well. One thing I'm learning from WWSP is how much of some of the foods that I was eating were either high pts or I was eating large portions. So I am relearning portion control of the things I eat and also as I adjust to this plan having to choose which foods are worth the higher pts and which are not.

Carol Sue As long as I can steadily lose on purple unless I see that I need to switch to blue. However, I do want to give this plan as much of a chance as possible and I also feel that I'm still learning what foods fit my lifestyle etc for now. So I will continue it for at least a month or two if not more. I have no problem losing slowly since I don't want to wrinkle any more than necessary at my age.

I hope all goes well if and when y'all go to the casino.

I never heard of egg yolks that wouldn't break. Interesting. We had a guy at church give us some eggs from his chickens when we visited one time years ago and no matter what I did the eggs always broke when I cracked them to cook. At first I thought it was me but then having raised chickens myself for eggs, I decided it had something to do with how he was feeding, but I can't figure our what would cause them to be so hard. I'm wondering if they had been frozen. I don't know if you can freeze them or not. I've never heard of it.

I went to the beauty shop this morning and then went to the local grocery store. I saw only about 3 customers and only a few workers with masks on. They were still sanitizing carts.

I think we are still having occasional covid case here in our county as they test for more, because they have tested almost 9,000 people here and still have had a relative small amount of cases and I don't think anyone is dying from it any more in our county. However, we have been asked to continue distance and wear masks if we can. However, that was from May 28 so not sure that is still the case or not.

I think most folks feel like if this cannot be all that serious if they can tell rioters that they can go out and protest with or without a mask while telling others to stay home just really doesn't make sense. I've heard that most people are no longer taking it all that serious any more. It is a crazy world these days. Always has been but seems to be more so these days. It all confuses people.

I hope everybody has a great day and weekend.

Wt is down .2. Whoopie do!! Just going up and down. I guess I am maintaining which is better than gaining so I will not complain. I have not yet managed to find the sweet spot that allows me to lose regularly, but I will. I am still reading Dr Naiman. I like what he says. No high fat if you have body fat to lose. He doesn't believe in extended fasts, either but is not against them. Just doesn't think they are necessary longer than 24 hours. I think I am going to try 2 OMAD days a week. He said the first 12 hours after a meal you are digesting and processing nutrients. Only after that does your body enter the faster state. He also recommends eating your calories later in the day. He says to continue your fast in the morning as long as you can. I know that's what most do but I never did because of wanting eggs, but I think I'll be ok if I do it twice a week. He recommends it twice a week. I will still do 16/8 the other days. That has become a lifestyle for me. I don't ever think I will go back to eating all day like I did before.

Texas Roadhouse is open, now. We really miss it and will go during the week. That is DHs favorite restaurant. I think our governor will be the last one to lift the mask mandate. I don't mind. I'm not out that much anyway.

Carol Sue I don't mind wearing the mask where required or recommended. Originally in our state you were to wear a mask if you were sick then everybody started wearing them so it was crazy hard to know so I would just wear one and then I thought people were going to think I had it LOL.

Glad your weight came down. I found a WW group on FB called Weight Watchers and Intermittent Fasting. It seems a lot of those who posted were doing or started doing 16:8 and I saw one lady say she has gone from 16:8 to 20:4 and found it easier to do. So I'm going to work at being more strict with that.

Weight this morning was back down to 203.2 FBG 114 not sure why higher. Maybe too carby yesterday.

I switched back to the blue plan today. I decided not to wait. I can still have the starchy foods I like but will just count the pts on them. I like doing that better. I get 23 pts instead of 16 but that is okay because I don't like not having to count the starchy foods. It is too easy for me to mess up. My air-popped popcorn will cost me 2 pts instead of 0 but when I read that those on purple don't track their 0 pts I decided that is not a good idea for me. I guess I just need more structure and accountability. This isn't a game for me. I think the lady I listen to on YouTube does the blue plan and she does pretty good about making it work for her and I believe I can too. I also changed my WI day back to Saturday. I guess I am a creature of habit and I have always liked having Saturday as my WI day so everything feels normal to me again.

I agree with your Dr. Naiman you are reading. I think when you are losing as much weight as I have to lose that is body fat that you need to not eat a lot of fat. I also agree that we need to stop eating and give our bodies time to digest our food. The Fit for Life diet I went on when I first was diagnosed diabetic that my doctor said his wife followed allowed you to eat only fruit from 4 am to noon and then eat whatever you ate (author was vegetarian) between noon and 8 pm then you fasted 8 hrs to give you body a chance to digest and rest before you started over in the morning with fruit. Except for my coffee each morning that is pretty much how I ate when I married DH and moved to FL. It worked pretty good.

I'm going to work at following the 8 hr eating window most days from 10 to 6 and try to stop eating snacks at night. Then on Friday I will fast longer because of beauty appointment. I go this week at 9:30 and then one more 11:30 am appt the following week and then DS and I switch to 9 and 9:30 hair appointments. We are switching so I can get out to store and get home earlier before DH gets up and she will be able for them to leave earlier to go see her DD on the weekends they want to go see her.

TX roadhouse has been open here for a few weeks but DH wouldn't go there yet because he thinks they will be using the steaks they had to freeze. He wants to wait till they are getting fresh beef. LOL These guys.

Y'all have a great day.

DH doesn't know TX Roadhouse is open so I won't tell him until I am ready to go. They have been doing take out all along, plus they were selling raw steaks that you took home and cooked at home. We didn't do either. I checked the hair dresser app and there is a 2 hour wait. I guess you check in then come back at your time. They don't do appointments. I'm glad I don't need that yet.

I am not cooking today and I don't know what DH will want. He is mad at me because he wanted to go to the casino and I didn't want to go on a weekend. He will want to go every day until I say yes.

We have decided on baked potatoes on the grill and steak cooked inside on the grill pan. A veggie. So I guess I AM cooking! Neither of us feel like standing in the sun to grill the steaks. We prefer air condition.

Trish, I think trying the blue plan is a good idea. You don't know until you try which plan will produce the best results for you. I think I would have better control having to count points for the foods I like, but that's me. You can always go back to purple.

155 this am, after a 40 hour fast. Doing ok. Not as much exercise as I should be doing, but I have not been sleeping well. Buddy would make me get out, I am doing well to have 1 good walk a day instead of 2-3 like usual. Going to try for a nap.
Carol: sometimes my really fresh eggs are resistant to scrambling, the yolk covering is strong. But I think you are right, it may also happen if the eggs get near freezing.

Otherwise things are very dull here. I am going to do some cleaning, after a little nap.

Carol Sue The blue plan was the one that WW chose for me in the beginning. I think I kept calling it green, but I was on the blue for a few days before I switched to purple on my own. I actually did well today having the 23 pts instead of the 16. I didn't use all of the other 7 pts. I had 2 pts left to rollover for tomorrow. It was a really good day and I felt more in control. I even did 22 minutes on bike to get 2 miles on it.

The only problem I had today was I ended up with a 8.5 hr eating window instead of 8. I may have to switch to 11 to 7 eating window to get my 8 hrs. Church tomorrow so probably need to fast until after church.

Fatmad Looks like your weight is coming back down like it usually does when you are back to fasting. I hope you will be able to get some good rest.

Good night.

Hi all 156 again today after my eating day. I feel like my weight came down faster and more easily when I first started eating this way. Its a bit recalcitrant now. I have been allowing myself a few treats. I got some GF baked goods. I will have to freeze the rest now and not eat them. I will allow myself to have something later on when the weight is down.
Going to the farmer's market was an adventure of its own yesterday. Two lines, one for outdoor vendors and a separate one for indoor. If you went to one, you had to leave and get in line for the other. Which was a pain, but they needed to keep the numbers manageable. Now I have seen what was available and who was there. I am happy that they have prioritized real vendors and local vendors. By real, I mean they are selling things grown in Ontario, not shipped things from elsewhere. Yes, there are vendors that are not "farmers" or representing local growers. So I am happy that real growers are prioritized. Also no fast food sales. They didn't want to encourage people to sit down and eat. There are lots of those types of vendors at our big market.
I went later than plan because I had a meeting at 8 am on Zoom. So maybe if I had gone earlier the lines would have been shorter, though that's no guarantee. In any case, now that its open, I may be able to avoid the grocery store for a long time. I can get all my meat, fruit and veggies there, as well GF baked goods. So only packaged foods at the grocery, and milk and cream of course.

Carol: i hope you and DH can stay away from the casino and crowds. I guess its possible to limit numbers and do things like only having every other slot machine open in order to maintain social distance. But I would not count on it. Seems scary to me. I can understand wanting an outing, but I would want to control distancing etc.

Trish: Changing eating habits seems to be agreeing with you. I am glad it's working.

Hope to hear from Pipsicle today, and maybe there will be others chiming in.

Mad, the info about the casino is online. One door to go in. Temperature checked and 5 questions regarding symptoms and being around infected people. Masks and distancing required in line. That would take a while. Inside, no buffet, limited number of people, no table games no poker. Machines turned off to enforce distancing. I would go during the week to limit the wait time to get in. If we have to wait outside in the heat that would not be good, and what if the elevator is closed? But I can only hold him off so long. When we go to a restaurant he will not wait in a line to be seated if they are busy, so why wait at a casino?

Trish, I remember that WW suggested you start on the blue plan but you wanted more access to more zero point foods. I thought I read somewhere online that blue was best for losing because you had to count more points but purple was more for maintenance after you lost. This is why I say try them each to see which one works for you. Too bad there's not a plan to eat whatever you want and still lose weight. That's what I'm trying to do. Good thing I'm doing IF or I would blow up like a balloon. My only good thing is my LC breakfast. All down hill after that. Potato chips and chocolate. Who is buying this stuff???

Good job on the drop, Mad!

Fatmad I think the bounces like you had when eating and not eating on your regular routine is probably normal and you will begin to settle back into losing again. Getting stocked up on the foods you eat will help a lot. You will do it.

Carol Sue I think that is probably true about purple being for maintaining. I saw a woman on there who had reached goal and was using it for maintain. I don't think it was working really well for her. She lost all the weight on blue.

The change back to blue was good for me to do do. Weight back down toe 202.8 and FBG 105. So good move on my part. I even was able to eat the few things I like as a snack example, I love pretzels. The lady doing blue and has a youtube channel mentioned them. I got the Snyder mini pretzels and I eat half a serving for less pts and am satisfied when I eat it. I eat them with my Premier high protein drink at night. I also plan to pick up some vanilla Premier high protein shake the next time I go because a girl on the FB blue WW support group says she loves her vanilla coffee and puts it in her coffee as a creamer for 2 pts for the day. So I'm learning little tricks they do. There is a guy on youtube who makes 1 pt little cup cakes or donuts. I don't eat donuts but DH misses his. This way I'm eating a little more than the purple 16 pts, but less than the blue 23 pts with 2 or 3 rollover pts each day and I am happy. They don't allow you to rollover more than 4 pts. So I'm eating what I want even with some alternatives and enjoying every bite. I don't feel like I'm on a diet and as one lady told me... it is a lifestyle.

Headed to church in a bit. Hope to hear from Pipsicle and things are going good for her this week.

Y'all have a blessed Sunday.

Smile Ticker changing day!

So for what it is worth, I am able to confirm a loss from a couple of weeks ago. FBS was 84.

I am still disappointed and reeling from not having lost any weight last month even though it was my best compliance with my plan ever. I truly believed if I did all my little things it would amount to something and it didn't. Having that bubble burst has made me really unfocused right now. If I hadn't done my best, I would not feel so defeated. If it was my usual level of effort, I would have things I could do better. However, I feel incapable of doing any better than I did last month and feel a bit lost. It is really difficult to continue a very hard task without positive reinforcement along the way.
